I have so many questions…View attachment 824543

Clearly an issue of capacity. They must only be using one of the four turntable systems that ride has. Whether its a case of reduced staffing levels to lower labor costs, or a mechanical problem that is taking some time to fix is the real question.

Even after posting about the cutbacks and cancellations for this Christmas season in another thread just now, I have to believe this is a temporary mechanical problem and not a purposeful decision to reduce labor costs by only staffing one turntable.

I mean, they've gotten really cheap and are purposely lowering standards left and right, but they can't be that stupid!

TP2000 Deep Thoughts:

"Packing and Beauty Salon" day where I pack my suitcases and spend a few hours in town with master craftsmen and technicians getting as pretty as possible (not nearly as easy as it used to be!) before a big trip tomorrow. But the trip doesn't involve Disneyland, or WDW, or even Tokyo Disneyland; it's another Viking cruise.

Not a hint of Disney involved in any of it, and no current plans to seek out anything Disney in the near future.

The constant drumbeat the past two years of lowered expectations, cheaped out park offerings, abandoned buildings and facilities and attractions, ugly and/or generic new construction in Disney's hotels and complexes just outside the park boundaries, , has really got me feeling glum about current Disneyland and the near future for all the American parks.

And yet everything else in life is going so swimmingly and is such fun! 🥳

What a weird,. contradictory, melancholy era this is for an old Disneyland fan. 🧐

I choose JOY. ✨🫧💕

Also I have been really obsessed with Dance Macabre which opened at Efteling. It's very impressive. I've been anticipating it for so long, and it's really just everything I've wanted. It just blows my mind that Disney doesn't choose to be more interesting or creative when they clearly have the money. Why is a theme park not attached to a mega corporation able to deliver more?! Anyway, off to go dream up pie-in-the-sky attractions for Disneyland with my imagination and imaginary giant budget lol✨

What a masterclass in theme design. Such a simple ride yet elevated to perfection with its imaginative theming. It is so beautifully eerie. Efteling has really become the theme park standard.
I, for one, am overwhelmingly excited for The Great American State Fair in Iowa to celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States. It's effectively going to be a World's Fair but with pavilions for all 50 states. Should be an incredible event and might even have a very real impact on the theme park industry.
Returning to this, I wonder if the Great American State Fair will put any pressure on Disney to increase any planned celebrations for the 250th anniversary of the United States in 2026. With Disneyland celebrating its 70th next year, I imagine that will trail in towards 2026, but Disney World, which relies on Midwestern and Southern attendance, will likely suffer an attendance drop if Midwesterners are going to Iowa for the Fair in Summer of 2026 instead of Disney World. Would be wonderful if Disney decided to also go all out for the country's 250th birthday, but I have some suspicion they won't.

Truly!!! Efteling BLEW it out of the water. I also love how they have a consistent aesthetic for their character designs through the park, regardless of the attraction. I will miss Spookslot a lot, but this is such a major upgrade.

If it is good enough for Six Flags, it's good enough for Disney.

Any word on when the Hall of Presidents will be going down for the figure swap? Disney should be happy. They don't have to spend the money for a new figure.

I'm excited for it, I've been meaning to get back to Iowa to visit my grandparents (at the Barnes City Cemetery). This will give me a chance to visit the ole family stompin' grounds.

It's a really interesting looking ride (I've seen some brief clips). I assume it's pretty nifty in person?

Planet Coaster 2 has been out for 3 days and players are already posting amazing creations while I’m… … still learning. Loving it, but WOW… the avalanche of new creative options comes with a hefty learning curve. Here’s Saguaro Guitaro singing what I imagine is a sarcastic song about my “skills.”

Not sure is this is the right place, but seems as good as any: heads-up, all of Pixar Pals parking structure appears to be closed today and about 1/3 of the Mickey and friends toll booths are closed. Have been trying to park for nearly 20m and still not at the tollbooth yet.

Update, now crawling our way up the ramp. I don’t think I’ve ever had this happen before. Took more than 5m to get from scanning AP to Goofy level, now crawling down first aisle away from where we turned in.

Mobile ordering and food is so much better than WDW that it’s ridiculous. Just came back from WDW after going to DL for the first time in September. The amount of time you waste having to stand in line for often times inferior food is staggering. Really was missing the convenience of being able to mobile order almost everywhere.
