By the way, has anyone else seen that amazing seven minute CGI animated ad about the girl helping her neighbors with the aid of a magic snow globe? It shows up often on YouTube, and it’s not till the fade out that it mentions it’s a Seasons Greetings ad from Chick-Fil-A! It’s the 4th in a series.

It’s a bit too on-the-nose with its tale, but it’s better than a lot of actual Christmas specials or animated films. Would love to know what the budget was.
Every year chic fil a has these, and they are fantastic! There's one from a couple years ago that got me all weepy, no joke.

Isn't that every episode of Three's Company?

Back in the Disco Era I had a very proper Swedish grandmother, named after the beloved Swedish queen Wilhelmina. She kept a lovely and immaculately clean home, never went downtown without a hat and gloves, and never missed a church service. Even a casual weekend luncheon at her house included full place settings with two forks, a soup spoon and a teaspoon. At her dinners, there were seafood forks, butter knives and master butter knives, and demitasse spoons added just to keep you on your toes.

But somehow, in some bizarre way of subversively rebelling, she ABSOLUTELY LOVED Three's Company!

She'd sit in her TV room with its white wool wall-to-wall carpeting in front of a giant Zenith that had a white acrylic space age base and would howl and laugh at Three's Company, reruns or new episodes. I never dared ask her if she was getting all the double entendre' (Jack, it just doesn't fit!), but upon reflection I'm fairly confident she did. 🤣

I was just thinking about Grandma Willie's big Zenith TV. It was so 1970's mod that I've never forgotten what it looked like almost 50 years later. So I Googled, and darnit if I didn't find the exact same model she had! White acrylic base with faux walnut paneling, very mod.

Imagine this exact TV sitting in a lovely TV room with wall-to-wall white carpeting and grasscloth covered walls adorned with walnut floating shelves displaying tasteful Swedish modern art pieces, tuned in to Three's Company with an elderly Swedish lady giggling subversively on the creamy white sofa...

My Gawd, I would KILL to have that big, old Zenith today! Wouldn't you?!

Head over to MK’s Splash thread. An entire mess.

You know, I think about responding now and again, but honestly... I find the conversation so entirely redundant and boring. It's the same damn thing over and over. The horse has been beat. The horse is dead.

And yet no one discusses that fact that Disney actually put out beautiful concept art for once 😭

That alone gives me hope, it doesn't look like a weird blurry blob like concept art has been lately. I think the worst was the disneyland expansion they teased where you can barely tell what the rides even are.

Baby, don’t respond! Be better than I.

The concept art they’ve been releasing for the project has definitely been beautiful, especially the art that was released today. I hope the final product looks at least somewhat close to it.
Any highlights? I might have to take a peek when I get a chance later tonight, I'm curious what their thread has devolved into.
For the most part, it’s all negativity, lots of judgement, and whining. But, we’ve also got people claiming that the Brer characters will disappear forever once Disney shuts down the ride (as if they haven’t already existed for literal centuries).😑

Maybe this is really hurting WDW fans because, from what I understand, Splash is pretty much the only ride that is consistently considered to be the superior version when it comes to DL vs MK rides, and now it’s going the way of the dodo bird.

Did someone say Dodo? Christmas is coming... I'm a size Medium. ;)

Since we’re on the topic, I’m of the opinion that if any extinct animal should be scientifically resurrected, it should be the dodo, not a dinosaur or saber-toothed tiger.

Who here would eat a woolly mammoth steak or burger? Or a T. rex sandwich? A professor brought this question up in a class I was presenting in. They were talking about the ethics of scientifically resurrecting extinct animals.

It used to be better. When I rode it several weeks ago I was shocked at how far it had been allowed to deteriorate.

At this point I can’t think of a single ride shared by both coasts that’s better at WDW. A few are equal, like Jungle Cruise and HM, but most are either not as good (but still excellent) or just plain terrible (Tomorrowland Speedway).

I have to admit, though, I do love how terrifying MK’s Space Mountain is… though not exactly in a good way. 😀

I'd definitively put HM down as a win for WDW, as I would Jungle Cruise. Not to say that the DL versions are bad, I just prefer the Florida version (FAR prefer, in the case of Mansion).

Not a RIDE, but WDW also has a far better Tom Sawyer Island.

MK's Space Mountain is VERY underrated IMO. People don't like it because it's more of a "real" roller coaster than most of what else Disney's put out and it's hardly maintained well, but I love it. Fantastic ejector airtime too!
