Martin just uploaded a tribute to Epcot's France pavilion and besides being a great look at its history, it also made me think about how New Orleans Square was a kind of precursor to World Showcase (and I think from a design standpoint, France is just as nice). It's the kind of thing Disney used to do best. Building romanticized depictions of historical places and ideas, instead of the giant Vegas/shopping mall models*. It's what DCA is largely lacking and why it doesn't feel very Disney at times. If only we had gotten WestCOT instead...

*Unfortunately, instead of adding rides and charming diversions over time, Disney added booze booths and character meet and greets which took away from the focus of the various countries IMO.

BTW, does anyone know if it’s true that Tokyo’s HMH decorations were made for WDW, but TDO, last minute, decided that holiday overlays weren’t worth it and OLC bought the decorations?

Isn't it possible that both Disney and the artist have simply chosen the same image from a Humphrey cartoon to depict?
EDIT: I suppose the bean shaped background does suggest otherwise.

I'm not bothered that the Snow White ride doesn't have an happy ending scene, but it's missing some of the extra animation in the Tokyo and Paris versions. The mine cart that runs and "crashes" towards you, the skeletons that shake and swing out to your car* in Paris, or its dunegon's extra fountains. The California version seems more cramped despite hitting all the same beats. Are the bats in the woods in Paris too? I forget.

*which is amazing. So classic pre-Disney dark ride
