I’ve embraced Mickeys Fun Wheel as the icon of the park. Its pleasant to look at. It’s not the kind of thing I would have greenlit but here we are.

LOL I hear you it is the weenie of DCA , it’s just a Ferris wheel to me represents the complete opposite of theme park creativity - every carnival , boardwalk , and traveling clownshow has one. Slap a Mickey face on it , and a vomit car option and voila you have an attraction. I wish they would have somehow amped up grizzly peak as the park icon …different strokes I suppose

I don't hate World of Color, but I've only seen it a few times because it's such a pain in the butt to see. A good show, but the payoff isn't good enough for the effort you put into getting a spot.

And included for posterity is this brilliant WOC parody from 2010's Hanging show at Knott's Scary Farm: the Wonderful World of Water!

Some folks don’t realize that Disneyland partially stems from amusement parks. Disneyland is, of course, more fleshed out, themed, and of much higher quality, with more things to do and more impressive rides and attractions. But, undoubtedly, there are fair/amusement park elements in the park. Walt Disney didn’t invent spinner rides, dark rides, and carousels. Even eating popcorn and cotton candy is very much a carnival thing.

Walt Disney took the amusement park concept and amplified it.

WoC wouldn't be so bad if they had seating.

I always thought that if they had risers the raised from the ground right before showtime that would be better.

How many Ferris wheels did Walt Disney have at Disneyland ? Maybe I missed it?

The Ferris wheel is the peak of ubiquity - pure laziness especially for the theme park weenie

Obviously it wasn't built, but one was considered for Fantasyland.

Never built , and that looks a lot cooler than mickeys fun wheel. A kiddie version in toontown might fit

Let’s inventory the Disney park icons across the globe:

Sleeping beauty castle
Cinderella castle
Spaceship earth
Tree of life
Tower of terror
AquaSphere
Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant
Other castle variants

And drumroll please……Mickeys fun wheel

Houston we have a problem

Houston, you have problem, which is fine. You’re welcome to dislike the Wheel.
