It's pretty amazing to think about how up until 1995 or so, just about every change at Disneyland was at worst a lateral move, and was usually a huge improvement over what was there before. I think the first unanimous 'misses' were Light Magic and Tomorrowland '98. That's like 40 years of home runs.

Compared to what they've been doing to place the last few years, that track record is pretty incredible.

Nothing was worse than tearing out The Hall of Aluminum Fame. I still haven’t forgiven Walt for that one.

This has absolutely nothing to do with anything, but I thought I would post this here just for the lolz:

This is my personal redesign of Kentucky's state flag - Kentucky being my home state. I have a very mild interest in vexillology (the study of flags), so I thought this would be a fun thing to do. Unlike the actual state flag, this one adheres to all the principles of good flag design: It contains no text, no more than three colors, meaningful symbols, and is simple enough for a small child to draw.

The dark green field represents the color of Kentucky's abundant blue grass, the fifteen stars represent the fact that Kentucky was the fifteenth state to be admitted, the horseshoe obviously represents the state's famous equine culture, and the goldenrods* at the bottom are there on account of goldenrod being the state flower. A very effective and nice flag if you ask me; I think this would definitely be one of the most iconic state flags if it were actually adopted.

*These are actually olive branches instead of goldenrods lol. I still need to change this, although the olive branches are a very close approximation in any case.

I'd forgotten how big and impressive Disneyland's fireworks shows had been in the past.

Earlier this spring they returned with that awful Mix Magic show, and you could see some fireworks happen on weekends and during holidays. But for the past few nights they've had a big, huge, impressive fireworks show.

I've lost track of which one they are doing now, but it's obviously one of the older and much bigger shows. Impressive to watch from even afar!

Tokyo just announced they're overhauling their Tomorrowland including completely rebuilding their Space Mountain.

Since their Space Mountain was a duplicate of Disneyland's version, I wonder if it has reached end of life just like Disneyland's did in 2004. Disneyland had to rebuild theirs from scratch. Looks like they are getting an external facelift too. Very TRON like.

Looking at that picture, it seems like they removed the Rocket Jets. Then I looked at google maps and Tokyo doesn't have a Rocket Jets ride or Peoplemover anymore.
