It’s bad design. Crowded. Congested. One big weenie next to another one that was the focal point of the land. It makes the land feel more like a collection of rides instead of a themed environment that has rides.

this is a weird take - so Tron doesn’t fit Tomorrowland? I think it’s perfect alongside space mountain, Astro orbiter, peoplemover, and carousel of progress, throw in buzz as well. I hear you about the second weenie but this cements WDW Tomorrowland as head and shoulders above the decrepit version of TL that is wasting away in Anaheim by the day. God I hope they make some investment in Anaheim TL to make it as perfect as the rest of the park (excluding SWGE which has no place there)

How is it a weird take? Where did I say Tron doesn’t fit thematically? My problem is with the aesthetics.

It was only 15 years ago that Disney insisted on giving Ryan a girlfriend in the High School Musical films instead of allowing him (or Chad, or any character) to be openly gay. I’m both grateful things have changed and appalled that it’s taken so long.
Does Disney have any movies now with openly gay characters on TV? Last I checked Disney has Josh gad dance with a man for 1/3rd of a second.

Disney is making products to sell in China, meaning no openly gay characters.

A collection of rides instead themed environment with rides?

I should have said “well themed.” Having those two monsters next to each other clash and makes it feel like they crammed a ride where it’s not supposed to go thus making the land feel like a collection of rides and not a well designed/ themed space that includes rides. That’s how it looks on the map at least and certain angles I’ve seen on vlogs. Haven’t seen it in person.

Why did it have to be a duplicate of Shanghai version? Why couldn't they have come up with a new design to compliment SM or enhance the surroundings? It would have been cool if the Autopia got a Tron upgrade with led roads and glowing car designs. It could have been integrated with the new building.

New Autopia car
TRON and Ratatouille were panic moves. Walt Disney World needed to add capacity as quickly as possible so they grabbed two existing rides and awkwardly dropped them in where they could fit.

For the past two weeks SoCal has been sunny and unseasonably hot, with temps into the upper 80's many days.

But, now that the Super Bowl is over, today dawned cold and blustery. And right now a few miles east of Disneyland at only 6pm my backyard weather station reads 48 degrees and we're having a huge thunder and lightning storm and driving rain!

The timing on the sudden return of cold, rainy winter weather is just a tad suspicious. I want to know who at ESPN, NBC, NFL and TDA sold their souls to the devil to make all the Super Bowl TV coverage from Paradise Pier and Inglewood look so sunny and warm just 48 hours ago! I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt to assume some of those TDA execs still had a soul left to sell, but someone must have done something! 🧐

I was at DL. We had about a hour's rain... and HAIL!

I'm on a Sinbad's Storybook Voyage fix right now. "Compass of Your Heart" has been stuck in my head for the past three days and I'm longing for something equally catchy to go into the DisneylandForward plans for DCA.

That's an insanely fun ride! Just so mesmerizing and yet utterly charming. That Sherman Brothers song doesn't hurt either. And of course, it's a massively high capacity people eater that gobbles up 2,500+ riders per hour without breathing hard. It's really like the Small World of the 21st century.

And what's even more stunning is that most Americans have no idea it exists, and it was opened the same year the same company gave Americans the Golden Zephyr and Superstar Limo.

Yeah, I could look out the windows and see that it was covering all of OC from Fashion Island to north of Disneyland. It was about as violent a lightning storm as we get here in SoCal. Nothing to compare to Florida, but for us it was big.

Seriously, who sold their soul to the devil to keep today's cold, wet weather away from the Super Bowl week?

Josh Gad isn't gay. He married to Ida Darvish and they have two kids.

I didn't mean the actor. Disney touted it as a big deal that he dances with a man for a fraction of a second, slightly implying he's gay supposedly.

Meanwhile in 1996 Disney had a major character (and actress) come out as gay in a television episode. No subtleties.

Yet people act like Disney's very slight gay mentions 30 years later are somehow the bravest thing the company has ever done.
