I don't even know what they might announce at D23 this year but I feel less an less excited for it each time and more, I don't know, not nervous but like morbidly curious about what they're gonna over promise and under deliver on next. But I might just be a pessimist, not sure how everyone else feels about them.

I used to be excited for D23. This is the first year that I’m not excited but just more mildly curious. It doesn’t help that I feel the headliner of the parks panel will be the Splash Mountain makeover.

I'm over fan conventions. They have just gotten too crowded and not fun anymore. They are just exhausting getting to and attending. I hate waiting hours just to get into a forum while so called "media" get to walk in or playing the lottery to for the chance to buy an exclusive.

Weird. That sounds just like going to Disneyland.

I’m excited if only for the reaction of the fandom. My guess is they’re going to tread carefully on this one for fear of another “Pixar Pier” reaction… which as I recall was “meh”.

I anticipate they may just show some decent concept art and ratchet up the excitement without announcing a firm closing date.

D23 just gives me the greatest amount of second-hand embaressment.

Its not just you. That’s exactly how I feel about D23 Expo now too.

At this point, I’m most interested in how they’ll handle the rather delicate problem of Bob Chapek. Do they try and let him make an appearance and risk boos from the audience? Or worse? Or do they keep Chapek "busy" somewhere else that weekend and let Josh D'Amaro do his Dreamy Cool Dad routine to coast on the fumes of goodwill they still have left?

If Bob Chapek does have the guts to appear on the stage at D23 Expo this summer, Burbank's security team should invest in plenty of chicken-wire like that roadhouse the Blues Brothers performed in...

What kind of Disneyland do you usually have here?

"Oh, we got both kinds,” answers Chapek. “We got merchandising and upcharges!

Encanto has the best soundtrack since Beauty and the Beast. Maybe even better than Beauty and the Beast or Little Mermaid.
I don't know about you but I go around all day singing the song We don't talk about Bruno and I don't even know anyone named Bruno.
It's amazing how omnipresent the music feels right now as soon as it's added to Disney+; feels like the first time since Frozen I've seen a Disney song in the Hot 100, and first time since Coco I had a song stuck in my head like this.

The whole soundtrack is 🔥🔥

I like every single song except for maybe “What Else can I do.” Also that animated sequence where Antonio gets his gift and goes for a ride on the leopard through his “room” is brilliant.

I know you're not disrespecting the Tangled or Princess and the Frog soundtracks!

Y'all are crazy. Gun to my head, I couldn't even hum a bar from any song in Encanto.

I had no idea what @mickEblu was talking about. I had to Google Encanto to remind myself it was a cartoon they released a few months ago. It's not a playlist that's being used at any of my last few sociables I've attended. And if it's being played over the Muzak at the supermarket, I'm not catching it.

But since I trust @mickEblu's judgment, I'm going to check it out later today. I have a dinner party invite this weekend, and I'll be happy to brag to the hostess by asking if she's got the Encanto soundtrack cued up for dinner music.

Wow Anchorman. There were a solid few months were I could recite every line in that movie back when it first came out on DVD.

Tbh I completely forgot about Princess and the Frog somehow. I honestly think PatF has a better soundtrack than BatB. More repeat value anyway. I think Encanto is catchier and has more replay value than both of them though.

For Top 3 soundtracks in Disney Movies off the top of my head I’m going…

Encanto
Princess and the Frog
Little Mermaid

Followed by BatB, Pinocchio and Cinderella.

I’ve only seen Tangled 1.5 times so I must not have cared too much for the music. The only two songs I remember are the song with the lanterns and that song in the tavern that was funny ish but not something I care to hear over and over.

It's not a proper dinner party without the Encanto soundtrack. You might as well being eating a taco party pack from Taco Bell.

That kind of party isn't going to happen here. Villa Park has health laws that ban serving horse meat.

That said, I loved the Princess & The Frog soundtrack! One of my all-time favorites, and that musical show Disneyland did with the Mark Twain with all its music goes down with Viva Navidad and Paint The Night as one of the best pieces of infectiously fun entertainment that Disneyland has ever done.

Now I'm really curious about Encanto. I will be checking it out today.

Ok but as I’m sure you know it’ll take a few watches to even get to the point where you can compare it to some of the classics that have been around for 30+ years. I have two young kids at home so this movie has been playing everyday for 3 weeks. Especially when we want my daughter to stay in the playpen without crying.

On my first watch I thought there 3 very good catchy songs but I wasn’t ready to put it up against some of the other movies I mentioned.
