O lort. If only you could do actual dark rides in any of those amusement park simulator games.View attachment 529755
You can. I did a decent dark ride based on Jabberwocky:

Planet Coaster has all the tools you need: Animatronics, crash doors, sound effects, music, effects, even lighting filters to simulate black light.
Fantasy rides are doable right out of the box. Here’s a promo for the “spooky” DLC that adds a lot of tradtional haunted elements:

There are other packs for cursed temples and Pirate of the Caribbean-style boat adventures.

And, honest, I don’t work for Frontier. I’m just hooked on their game. :D

Also, a few of the ride vehicles are direct lifts from Disney's designs- the mine train coaster is just like Big Thunder and their log flume logs are clearly like Disneyland's Splash Mountain vs a generic flume.

So is this Raya and the Last Dragon Disney’s 59th animated Feature film? Or is it some “straight to TV” movie? I don’t know why but it gives me Dreamworks vibes. Then again, I thought the same thing about Onward before watching.

Also, is it just me or does the whole “Last Dragon” thing seem tired?

In today’s circumstances, probably both forms of release (I’m sure they’re counting it as a theatrical feature). And, yeah , this film has a very forgettable title.

I can’t get past how awful the dragon itself comes across in the trailer. But, as you say, the trailer for Onward was unimpressive, and the movie turned out to be quite enjoyable. So, I guess I’ll... wait and see... ? 😬

I didn’t see a close up of the dragon but the image I did see I liked because it reminded me of the dragon from Neverending Story

Oh, you haven’t heard it talk yet? 😃 The latest trailer is like going to animation hell. Think My Little Pony face design making Joan Rivers-style butt jokes.

Oh no! Haha Either way I’m not paying for it. I’ll be waiting to see it when it’s on free Disney +

- “Last Dragon” concept - check
- Another female Disney She-ro for the bajillionth time in the last 8 years - check

It’s getting a little tired.

So, I got Lisa (and her bosses) approval to do a full month vacation in June, flying into Cleveland on the 1st, and returning June 30th.

Flight was just $22, as we are using United Miles.

Rental Car is $1,100 from Budget using Costco, plus gas and Tolls.

The Hotels average about $100 per night plus taxes.

Highlights include...

The Rock and Roll Museum

5 nights at Cedar Point including Coastermania. Our SP's include food and beverage (2 meals a day).

6 nights at Kings Island, same SP deal

Ark Encounter

Mammoth Cave National Park

Idlewild - Free admission using the Castle Park Platinum Pass, good at al US Palace Entertainment parks.

KennyKon (Palace Entertainment SP)

CoasterCon which includes

HersheyPark

Dutch Wonderland (Palace SP)

Dorney Park (Cedar Fair SP includes Food and Drink)

Knoebles

Then a Post-Con event at Six Flags Great Adventure (SP includes Food and Drink)

And on the way back to Cleveland, Leap the Dips (oldest Roller Coaster in the USA) at Lakemont Park, plus DelGrosso's (Altoona, PA)

So we have a budget of $200 on average for both of us, including hotels, meals, admission and souvenirs. That is $7,000 overall, but I am planning an extra $1,000 for a couple of special things, or to cover overages.

I bought a brick in 2019 in celebration of Cedar Point's 150th. Lisa has no idea that I did it. I have the mini brick hidden in my office. But I plan to let her find it at the park.

We are row 78 of Section 5 (the Big Circle. so just above the large CP 150th Square).

I liked Kings Island when I went. Cedar Point was overwhelming with so many coasters. Kings Island was more charming. The Son of Beast was one of the craziest rides I ever went on before it was destroyed.

But the Beast still is operating, and so is Orion.

Lucky enough to have been going to KI for decades. It is also on 2022's calendar along with Cedar Point and Kennywood.

Kudos to you for going forward and booking travel.

I'm not booking a thing until I see how things play out with vaccinations, etc. I got burned last year by doing some booking that wasn't able to be refunded due to everything that happened (not THAT much, granted, but still enough to give me pause).

OH, everything that I booked is refundable, Choice Hotels is very good about it, last year, this basic trip was scheduled for June, and not $1 in charges when I cancelled everything.

I grew up in Altoona, Pa and went to Lakemont and Delgrosso’s dozens of times. Me and my cousin used to ride the roller coasters over and over and over hahahaha
All of my end of school picnic celebrations used to be at Delgrosso’s (at that time it was called Bland’s park) as well as my mom and dad’s annual work picnics in the summer. Space Odyssey was my favorite ride. It was like an indoor black lit ride that played loud music and went around in circles. They also had a game I loved playing where you tried to pop balloons for a poster of the latest heartthrob. Good times :)
