Reddit is saying that the Melvin, Buff, and Max busts in the Pooh ride are from the Mile Long Bar (that closed in the '80s) and not the actual Jamboree.

I had always heard it as them being from the Jamboree- does anyone have more info? I've found conflicting stuff online.
That’s correct...from Mile Long Bar

The talking skulls dialogue in POTC is definitely not the original recording... at least not in its entirety. Don’t remember who said it but I remember the consnesus around here being that it was the original. There was nothing about Davy Jones in the original dialogue.

@monsterdavid is Ian a forum member? He seems like he would fit in with us (how did that guy on MiceChat put it?) “miserable bastards and overly critical a-holes.” This is a compliment and I mean this in the nicest way. It would be interesting to hear his opinions on some of the things we argue about over here.

It's true. Those heads are considerably smaller than the ones from the show.

Not that I'd know. I never got to experience the wonder of CBJ.

Speaking as someone who's ridden PoC hundreds of times since the year it first opened, took a tape recorder through the ride in the 70's and has bought every version of the PoC audio ride-through: The talking skull has always had the line, "...Davy Jones waiting for them what don't obey."

Davy jones may or may not be a character in the films because of that line, but it's always been there.*

For a brief time after the Jack Sparrow intrusion, I actually liked the Davy Jones dialogue going up the waterfall at the end...It kind of tied the beginning and end of the ride together.

*Remember, the skull has two full spiels it alternates between: The "Davy Jones" spiel and the "That be the best way to repel boarders" spiel.

Too bad they were really talking about this Davy Jones.

I've always thought PoC would be better if you crested the waterfall at the end of the ride and found The Monkees' Davy Jones singing "Daydream Believer." After all, there was a great pirate-themed episode of the show! :D
