There is no proof Disneyland itself will open in 2021 let alone avenger's campus. I don't believe any of these rumors while cases continue to rise in califorina. some people just want to make predictions to be the first to say " i called it"

Of course this is all under the assumption that Disneyland opens at all.

Yeah I thought it sucked hard. One of the most "pointless" Disney films in my view. It basically just plays out like extended animation tests for an hour and a half.
I don't know if I'd say outright say it sucks, but it's definitely the least ambitious and most forgettable (non-package) animated feature made while Walt Disney was alive. It's very slight, as if Walt never even pretended to care about it beyond approving it and deciding that "Higgitus Piggitus" would work.

I would probably say it was better made than most of the films released between Jungle Book and Little Mermaid, however. Even though SITS also has that TV cartoon look and meandering plot/action, it is nonetheless feels more focused than a lot the subsequent films made by Reitherman and Co.

Couldn’t disagree more. Wonderful characters, great animation and voice work, some fun, light SB songs, and a sweet, kind-hearted adaptation of T.H. White’s novel.

It’s a personal favorite of mine, but here’s a thing: Frank Thomas spoke at my college animation class back around 1978, and though he was very proud of his animation in SatS, he said the team never really got a handle on how to get the messsge of the book across.

That hypothetical of Walt largely not caring about The Sword in the Stone is fairly accurate. After Sleepy Beauty bombed at the box office and wasn't received as well as it was expected to, Walt more or less lost his passion for animation and began focusing almost entirely on other projects. He had very little involvement with Dalmatians and notably hated its xerox art style, and The Sword in the Stone was more of the same. It wasn't until The Jungle Book that his interest in animation was renewed, and he took the reigns again before unfortunately dying ten months prior to the film's release.

I've always wondered if Walt stepping back in for The Jungle Book was the reason it more or less went back to traditionally styled background paintings as opposed to sticking to the splotchy, sketchy-looking Peregoy scenery.

Woke up this morning with a very clear mind and kind of came to the realization that I need to move out of LA/ California. As sad as it would be move away from literally ALL of my family and leave the only home I’ve ever known, I believe it’s the right thing to do for myself and my family. The cost of living here is too damn high and I just want a better quality of life for my family. I could buy a very nice home in some of the areas I’m looking at for what it costs to rent a two bedroom apartment here. It’s also too congested. I want to be somewhere with less traffic and just less people. Somewhere where a car or person doesn’t want to be be where you are at all times. A place where you can take a breath even for a second without feeling the need to rush. I’d also like a better school system for my kids. I also just need to shake things up. I live 2 miles from where I was born and have never left. Didn’t even go away for College. Went to school right here.

The only two things that I think I’ll miss about LA other than family are some of the great restaurants (depending where I end up) and the weather although most of the places on my list have good to decent weather. All that other stuff like “you can surf and ski in the same day” don’t apply to me. I live 28 mi from Malibu and I go like 3 times a year. I haven’t skied since I was 10. Never been into the club scene or into nightlife in general. I’ll miss being close to Disneyland but I can do one really good trip a year when I come visit family. Some of these locations are pretty close to WDW. May become a WDW AP or premiere and just visit DLR a couple times a year when I come back home.

I guess I don’t entirely have to leave California for most of the things on my wish list but the driving factor revolving around schools and vaccine laws in California mean that I do. Don’t really want to get into this as it’s personal and a very political and divisive subject.

Here’s some of the cities I’m looking at. Any strong opinions? Some are a lot more logical than others. Some were just on a list I found that are common cities people move to from California. Some are because they check some of the right boxes and aren’t too far from California. Some I haven’t really looked into yet and may not make sense. Right now, without having done too much research Atlanta seems pretty appealing. Of all the destinations Austin and Atlanta have the most production work available but staying in production is not a deal breaker for me. I also think these two cities are appealing for a variety of other reasons.

Atlanta
Savannah
Austin
Tampa
Jacksonville
Orlando
Miami
Nashville
Dallas
Other cities in Texas?
Vegas
Other cities in Nevada?
Phoenix
Other cities in Arizona?
Portland
Eugene
Idaho?
New Orleans
Utah?
Colorado?

Do you guys have any knowledge of what it is like to live in any of these cities?
I hear Atlanta come up every so often on set and most seem to be lukewarm about working there at best. The humidity is usually at least one of the complaints but we already know our weather is hard to beat in comparison. I’m sure living there would be a more pleasant experience over feeling like you’re on an extended business trip away from home for months. Have no idea what the commercial world thinks. Didn’t realize Austin has a lot of work, New Orleans is up and coming too. Then there’s Canada, that would be a huge change

If you live at or near a big city you run into all of the same problems as LA. Crime, Homelessness, etc. Vegas and Arizona are cheap, places like Portland/Seattle and the surrounding areas are not.

By Canada do you mean Vancouver? Yeah it would be, don’t think I want to go that far. Lol. Interesting, I’ve never really heard anything about New Orleans. Anyway, this ain’t happen for over a year if it happens at all. Yesterday morning was the first time I gave it any serious thought. It’s unreal the homes you can buy in and around Atlanta for prices we haven’t seen here in years.

On another note, Had dinner at my parents last night and my mom seemed really sad when I brought this idea up ☹️ Doesn’t help she was holding her 3.5 month old granddaughter.

Fellas, there aren't enough photos of the Mark III green monorail. It's weirdly elusive, and it doesn't help that it barely even looks green in most pictures.

While everybody's talking about lesser-known Disney films (both animated and live-action) between the 1940s and 1960s. I'm just waiting for Disney to finally add "So Dear To My Heart" to Disney+ in the future. Danny the Black Sheep is adorable as heck!

The only time any Disney Park gave any representation to "So Dear To My Heart" was in 2015 when Danny was chosen to represent "Year Of The Sheep".

Unlike the other Disney Theme Parks, Tokyo Disney Resort really loves giving more love to Disney's obscure and lesser-known characters and movies of the past that's barely known to longtime Disney fans. They even have walk around versions of "Flying Gauchito" (Gauchito) and Burrito from "The Three Caballeros".

That movie is one of the many reasons I wish they'd build an Australian Outback section in DAK. So many good moments and underrated characters in that movie.
Yes. The characters are soo good from Jake to the villian and his reptile Susana I think it is. all the characters are rounded out and the landscapes in the movie are freaking gorgeous.
