Given the aspirations of 1950s and 1960s America, he would likely be overall disappointed to find out how comparatively little manned space exploration had been done by the year 2020.

Imagine telling someone watching Mars and Beyond in 1957 that 65 years from then no human will have set foot on its surface.
“What do you mean TWA doesn’t fly to the moon? What do you mean ‘What’s TWA?’?”

3 minutes into playing Vader Immortal on the Oculus Quest 2 and I already like it more than Smugglers Run
Haven't been on yet. Its one of the few video ride throughs that has really left me disappointed. But I'll give it a go soon. Probably get stuck with the dad whose life dream is to pilot it with his 3 year old son. Do I crush them with "Hey kid you weren't even a glimmer in your momma's eye when I first saw the Falcon, stand back" or let them drive?

Not a huge fan of the ride but It’s hard to gauge the quality of a simulator screen based attraction from a ride through video.

Haha I would ask for pilot and enjoy yourself. Any other position is worthless. If the kid and his Dad want to be pilots they can ask and be pilot on the next ride. Everyone wins. Plus can we be sure the dad isn’t just using his son because HE really wants to be pilot?

Yeah I know, its the only one that has had this sort of negative effect on me for some reason.
I'm certainly looking forward to the whole thing though.

So long as the weather holds, the US will again have an active manned space flight program in less than two hours. Could you image Walt‘s reaction to the US having to hitch a ride on Russian rockets for nearly a decade?

Yeah, as much as I was a big fan of the shuttle, I realized it set the space program back 40+ years.

The Peeps in Planet Coaster are charming as heck. Their reactions are believable and relatable:

They’ll look around corners to see how much farther the queue goes...

They wait patiently to begin with, but will eventually.... um...

Holy crud, I used to work with this guy.

Vader Immortal on the Oculus Quest 2 is pretty incredible. I’m only about 20 minutes in as I keep showing guests and family and going back to the beginning of the game. I don’t know if it’s because the last console I owned is N64 but wow. There are some really cool features... like putting the ship in hyperdrive by pulling levers and just using your hands in general to complete different tasks. Very responsive controls in general. I was genuinely frightened the first time I was approached by a First Order officer. Some of the highlights so far is the climbing, throwing stuff on the ground (really just makes the whole thing feel real), and the coolest thing by far was my lightsaber fight with the droid. The response on those hand held controls are great and they vibrate every time the lightsabers clash. Climbing the ladders in the Star destroyer is really cool too and I genuinely felt I was going to fall the ledge when I looked down. Apparently I’m only about 1/30th into this game and I’m already pretty blown away. The graphics I’d say are probably on par with maybe a PS3 but you re standing in a fully realized world in 360 degrees. I can only imagine how good the Star Wars VR thing at DTD was.

Isn’t it wild how VR can trigger your survival instincts regarding things like heights? If they ever drop the Facebook requirement, I’m getting one of these! BTW, have you tried just watching a normal movie in VR? That simple illusion of being in an Imax-size theater is enough in itself to make a headset worthwhile to me.

Totally! Haven’t watched a movie yet but even just watching YouTube videos it feel like you are an IMAX size theatre (by yourself) like you said

What's the best time to touch up the Partners statues at Disneyland??? During a pandemic... when the parks are closed.

Glad to see more minor upkeep while Disneyland was closed, From what I hear of WDW, they didn't make good use of the slightly over 3 months that it was closed.

Hopefully their Peoplemover doesn't have the fate of Rocket Rods with how many delays of the refurbishment end date there's been.

I'm disappointed they haven't used this time to remove our PM tracks.

Idt it’s in danger of that, they’re just upgrading the system and it’s taking longer than expected
