The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

Yep, which is why I want Disney to do the same thing if Disneyland can't reopen fully. So the question is why hasn't Disney done this? Or are they just trying to apply pressure in hopes of reopening Disneyland fully? I guess time will tell.

I'd suspect (and this is just a guess) that it would cause a nightmare with the unions.

The foods union for the resort is huge- and likely wouldn't react well to only a small percentage of their members getting pulled out of furlough.

If you look closely, you can see a picture of Dumbo under the ride's sign. They're pretty blatant about it. The parrots are a nice touch, though.

Also, I'm pretty sure that's the exact same "Flying Elephant" ride they have at Six Flags Great Adventure. Let me find a picture of it...

Yeah, pretty sure it's the exact same ride, except the ones at Pleasure Beach were given an ugly paint job. They honestly look like they should be part of the film's "Pink Elephants on Parade" sequence.

One more thing - what's that animal on the blue elephant in the center of the ride? A beaver?
Most flat tide manufacturers do or have sold a flying elephants ride. Even Zamperla, who manufacturers for Disney, has an elephant body option for their Aero Top Jet.

I think that is the exact reason. The unions are keeping it closed. Otherwise Disney would be charging $150+ for a food and wine festival.

Maybe, maybe not. I guess we won't know the real answer unless an insider tells us.

Alas, I am going to have to do that No Comment thing. I cannot speak for Disney.

But if Knott's can do it, well, the state is allowing it. I can make that comment, since it is another park.

Well, some candidates dropped out of the Anaheim Election, here is the official list.

The S.O.A.R. interviews start Monday.

They scaled way down on what they are selling since Covid hit. I think they are trying to discourage things that people might be tempted to walk around in store and eat.
I don't even think you can eat in-store; I saw someone who was drinking a mocha freeze and walking inside and the greeter let them know they couldn't drink it inside, so I assume that policy applies for the food they've got left too. And speaking of Costco...

grocery stores sell boxes of mickey ice cream bars so there is that at least.
My family bought a box of 15 of these from Costco! Usually go for an ice cream sandwich at the parks instead of the bars, but we take what we can get. :p

Yeah agreed, discourage was definitely the wrong word to use in my original statement. Costco has ran like a well oiled machine since day one of this pandemic, and they will be the first to let you know if you are not following one of their rules!

I wonder what has happened to the sample people? Officially let go or just furloughed? In the beginning, I saw them helping out cleaning carts and whatnot since they couldn’t sample foods, but haven’t seen any of them for awhile now.
