Except none of it is believable. The emotion inserted into Batman V Superman, or Civil War, or any other comic book movie all comes off as insincere and generic. The difference between a flick like Captain America Civil War and a play like Hamlet is the difference between any sad pop song and George Jones' "He Stopped Loving Her Today".
I disagree. We have seen Tony and Capts. friendship develop and their points of views change due to their experiences over several films and seeing it collapse the way it did was very emotional and impactful.

You can prefer Captain American Civil War more than Shakespeare's Hamlet, but the idea that they are equally legitimate is idiotic and wrong. Scorsese's comments about comic book movies being the same as a theme park ride were 100% on point - theme parks, with the exception of a few outliers such as Efteling, devote themselves to the same stupidity as comic book movies but claim to be something more. They're not. They're all trash. Theme parks at least have the potential of lush gardens, fountains, and beautiful architecture. Comic books will never be more than ugly text on (sometimes) well down pictures of meaningless drivel.
It’s clear you’re just attacking something you don’t know as a ridiculous means to try and make yourself seem cultured. What you say about comics and themed entertainment was once said about theater.

Sure the superficial emotion generator by comic book movies in weak attempts to justify mind numbing action yet are forgotten within a few years are equal to the classics that have stood the test of time and culture for the truths they tell 🙄

You’re the one who keeps trying to make ridiculous comparisons between very different things. Most plays aren’t Hamlet so that means theater is just trash. Country songs aren’t the 9th Symphony so it’s just hillbillies plucking strings.

At least theater has the potential to make Hamlet. Comic books don't have the potential to do anything but sell glasses that make it look like your eye's popped out.

As for your bigoted attack on America's downtrodden, while country music will never be sophisticated as classical music, the importance of folk music to a region's identity shouldn't be ignored. Country music is the voice of a people, comic books are the voices of mainstream, generic artists who want to sexualize women and glorify violence to produce a profit.

Again, I’m not the one trying to claim that certain mediums are not worthwhile and legitimate. The potential of any medium is not bound by your preferences.

Name some comic books that are equal to real literature, such as To Kill a Mockingbird or Tom Sawyer. Maybe I'll reconsider.

It’s clear you’ve made up your mind and have no desire to explore and learn for yourself. You want to justify your own preconceived ideas about other works and those who enjoy them. That’s you’re loss, not mine as I am capable of recently enjoying Frank Miller and Thucydides.

Too obsessed with “best” to actually learn something new. That’s you’re loss, not mine as I am capable of recently enjoying Frank Miller and Thucydides.
I've read through the entirety of The Walking Dead comics as they were still coming out, I've seen almost every MCU movie except for two. I'm capable of enjoying the content produced, but I'm also capable of saying "hey, this is garbage - I like it - but it's garbage that's objectively inferior."

It's all for the same reasons I condemn Game of Thrones. Nudity and violence does not make a story "adult" or "mature," it does the exact opposite. It's to sell to animalistic men who never grew out of their high school mentalities. I love the idea of Superman, an all-American boy scout who does what is right and good. The problem is when that's taken away from his character and they kill Superman, or turn him into a murderer. It's ridiculous. Superman is a power fantasy for little boys and to teach them right and wrong, and that's perfectly ok. If you like that, I don't have any issue. Those good elements don't need to be removed just to justify adults liking Superman, though. I love fairy tales, and those are obviously for children, but I hate Game of Thrones because it takes away everything that's good about fairy tales in order to appeal to adults.

This is mostly a ramble, but hopefully it gives you a better idea of my anger at comic books.

So you don’t like the morals of some things therefore the entire medium is awful. Same tired argument that has been applied to other mediums and countless works, including many now considered classics.

The moral of sexualizing women and violence solves everything? Yeah, I'm not a fan. Oops.
