I have a picture with that version of the White Rabbit from the 80s. I almost look at him like a different character from the movie.

On the topic of Disney and it's strictness of characters, I remember one incident happened at Disneyland Paris in 2006, which showed cast members and Disney characters misbehaving and doing "extremely risque" acts backstage that somehow leaked online. Disney later took "appropriate action" against employees (possibly firing them) . I don't want to say the title since this is a family site. But trust me, you know what I'm talking about!

Here's an article talking about the incident, and yes that video is surprisingly still up on Youtube.

Goofy sure is a corn dog.
Also found this statement Disney made on the video from 2006.
"The behavior shown on the video is unacceptable and inexcusable,"

Also the article said "The video was taken in the backstage area not accessible to guests. Appropriate action has been taken to deal with the cast members involved." So yeah Disney doesn't mess around.

I think the movie’s only real issue is its refusal to counterbalance the sadness and darkness with any real joy or humor. It’s grim right up until its final moments. There’s some charm with Tik Tok and the Gump, but it’s not nearly enough. (Jack’s creepy and Belina’s annoying). The books balanced their dark elements with lots of humor and whimsy; this film needed more of that.

That said, Return to Oz is still a great, lovingly made, scary family movie. I think Coraline is the only other one that even comes close in that category.
Coralline is one our favorite movies. We’ve watched it over and over and over. Since Laika is out of Portland, we saw a cool Coraline display at the Portland airport of displays from the movie when we were flying to Disneyland one time 😀

I just rewatched all three seasons of Stranger Things and I forgot how much I enjoyed season 3. I think season 2 is definitely the weakest of the three, but watching all of them together over the course of like a day and a half really is a lot of fun. The visuals in every season but especially in season 3 are so absolutely beautiful, especially for a TV show. The monster concept and animation is so well done, the lights in the mall in the final episode especially but in every episode look so beautiful and give the scenes so much color, I just still can't believe the quality of work Netflix puts out nowadays. It's also funny calling Stranger Things a TV show when it never plays on TV, I just don't know what else you would call it. Also it reminded me how much quality stuff Netflix puts out now and how amazing it is they've transitioned from streaming service for other properties to creating both terrible but also incredible shows and movies which reminds me of Ricky Gervais' Golden Globes speech talking about how award shows are basically just saying "good job Netflix."

I finished Buffy a while back so I dove in to Angel since we're still on house restriction. Angel is no Buffy but as a companion show, it's not bad. It has some serious growing pains, however. Eventually, the show was just as off the rails as Buffy and better for it, but season 1 is just as I remembered it on the WB circa 1999/2000. An entertaining hour of Buffy followed by a boring hour of Angel.

Stranger Things needs to be a dark ride at Universal. I don’t know what they’re waiting for. Even if they just reused the sets and props from their ST Halloween Horror Night walk-throughs and ran an off-the-shelf tracked ride system through it, it’d be one of their biggest hits ever. Unless Season 4 isn’t very good (which I doubt because I can’t wait to see Hopper fight his way home through 1980’s Soviets AND upside down monstrosities.) :D

In the Parks
No
In the Avengers thread, lumberguy5 posted a video of a guy flying his helicopter over DCA. Back in April he also flew over Disneyland. When he flew over Haunted Mansion it looked like this:

Were the scrims up before the park closed? I vaguely remember the attraction was supposed to go down or something to do repairs on all the damage done from the NBC overlays each year. Didn't it go down just before the park shut down? Was there outdoor damage as well or are they just giving the facade some TLC?

It looked like that right before the shut down. It is a long cleaning and repair they were doing. I believe it was a six month refurb.

I like the Splash Mountain logs between the two show buildings. 🙂

I disagree. from buffy season 4 onward Angel was clearly the better show. seasonn's 6 and 7 of buffy are some of the worst tv ever to be produced. buffy should have ended after season 3. from there its a completly different show in the worst way. not to say it does not have good epsiodes from now and again. "Hush" and "The Body" are standouts but as the seasons went on the show got worse. Angel season 5 is superior to Buffy season's 6 and 7 combined.

Watched Disneyland through the seasons on Disney+ and it was pretty entertaining. They showed off their "new" Small World. I thought it was strange they showed mackups or the world's fair version of the inside of the ride instead of the real thing. A lot of scenes were backwards and different dolls were used. They showed off New Orleans Square but didn't mention the Haunted Mansion or Pirates of the Caribbean. They showed Mr. Lincoln playing to a packed crowd! It looked like about a week's worth of people in there. I don't know if they were amazed by the AA or what Lincoln was saying.
