Tarzan's Treehouse is pretty worthless. Looks like Haunted Mansion compared to Chip & Dale, but compares unfavorably to pretty much everything else.

I mean, I guess I'm happy that it's still around, but...it's at best charmingly bad.

How can you say this is worthless?

Sure, it's a cool view. But Swiss Treehouse had cool views AND a cool treehouse to explore. If you have one without the other, you have removed 50% of the appeal.

Don’t disagree . Still, “worthless” is the wrong word.

EDIT: actually I disagree slightly. I think 25% of the appeal was lost with the retheme. The majority of the appeal was always the treehouse itself, the views and it’s uniqueness as an attraction.

"Half-baked," then. Neutered. Watered down. A poor imitation. A shadow of its former self. Etc.

Tarzan offers precious little beyond those views.

Swiss is more transformative, exploratory, harmonious within its environments. It is a genuine pleasure to visit. Even in the horrorshow that is the modern Magic Kingdom experience, it is a place of genuine calm, relaxation, discovery, and tranquility.

Tarzan is, for me, something done every few visits, solely for the view or to get away from the masses for a few minutes. There is nothing of substance related to the attraction's actual content other than the views, and those are left over from the Swiss days.

Tarzan suffers from Subs syndrome; technically an iconic attraction is still around in some form, but without its soul, just a bare husk of what had once been. I guess on some level it's nice that it's around, but are we really better off with the vastly compromised remains of what came before? Sometimes I wonder.

I think your Nemo comparison is good except I think Treehouse Is still way closer to original experience than the Subs are. To answer your question, we are 100% better off. Would you rather have a store or another snack stand in its space?

I'd rather have the treehouse, but really, the option shouldn't be the existing treehouse or another Mickey bar stand. Not that modern Disney would probably allow a third option, but I digress...

I still think more than 25% of the appeal was lost. Compare this to what's left at DL now.

No the options shouldn’t be either/ or but that’s what it would have been under Pressler as I’m sure you know. Not to say it couldn’t have changed to something else after but I don’t see what they could put in that space that would be better than a gigantic treehouse providing those views. It’s doesn’t take up a whole lot of square footage.

Just watched the video. Definitely better than Tarzan but I still think theme in the case of the treehouse only makes a minor difference. Of course it’s not just theme but how it was executed. A huge improvement would be just removing the fiberglass figures.
