Alain Littaye passed away, he was an author and blogged on the Disney and More website. Although he focused on Disneyland Paris (even wrote a book), he still covered many aspect of the Disney Parks and was my go to for hi res artwork. May he rest in peace.
He constantly seemed to uncover and bring to light old ideas and concept art that I had never seen elsewhere. I'm sad to hear about his death. Do you know how old he was or the cause?

oh no! He personally sold me the Disneyland Paris: From Sketch to Reality Book (English Edition) less than 2 years ago. Seemed like a cool guy. We went back and forth a few times on email and he gave me some tips on when to visit DLP.

Absolute disaster this weekend at the box office. Onward came out on top despite only making $10 million.

Poor Onward! I actually ended up really enjoying that movie—It’s in my Pixar top ten. Whereas “Brave” took a fantasy world and told a random story that felt like a”Brave” tv show episode (The One Where The Mom Turns Into a Bear), “Onward” tells a focused story perfectly matched to its characters and fantasy setting. I think it’ll find its audience on home video/streaming.

I liked Onward too. Just watched Frozen II last night. What a stupid movie that was. They had six years to come up with something good and this is what we got? Yuck! No wonder it had so many writers.

Yeah, “Frozen 2” is like an Eisner-era direct-to-video sequel, but with a big budget.

Onward’s story really, really works. The trailers didn’t do it justice, but now I can see why: It’s sorta impossible to mention what Onward’s really about without completely giving away the ending— And it’s got, hands down, one of Pixar’s best-ever endings.

I haven’t seen Onward yet so no spoilers please people! The fact that you like it gives me some hope that it’s good. I know you weren’t crazy about the character design either. I might have to wait a bit to see it now that the the movie theatre's are closed.

Yeah Frozen 2 wasn’t great but I didn’t hate it either. Story wise it did kind of feel direct to video sequel-y. Maybe they just gotta quit it with the sequels?

What Disney needs to quit doing is plowing ahead with a movie before they even have a competent story in place. That'll save them from getting backed into a release-date corner, which forces them to bring in a bunch of screenwriters to "help" in varying capacities, and leave them with no choice but to just go with whatever fairs best at the test screenings.

It’s funny—The character designs look ugly out of context, but most work well within the film. I still think the one outstanding design is the centaur cop; he’s the first centaur I’ve ever seen in a movie or tv show that actually looked “right” and not distractingly grafted together.😃

Disney had six years. They weren't exactly rushing it.

Frozen 2 had so much pressure to begin with. It was the type of movie that one viewing is enough for me but I didn't really hate it. Plot is horrible but it did redeem itself with the gorgeous animation and the soundtrack, while not as memorable as the Frozen 1, did have a lot of great songs.

Frozen 2 was released earlier than expected on Disney+ but I still didn't watch it.
