Agreed. The plot is admittedly thin already but once you get on the ride they just stop trying. The screenz are lame. Too much going on and the audio like you said is basically inaudible. The one thing I thought was cool was the bobbing up and down of the elevator, but if anything I think it actually detracted from the story because it was distracting.

How bout the fact that we re now free falling to uppity oldie songs? It doesn’t work IMO.

Universal has become more Disney-esque with a castle, a train and Marvel funny book attractions that use properties now owned by Disney. UO is a lot like DLR.

Disney has become more Universal-esque with screen rides and IP lands clearly inspired by HP.

It couldn't be written any better. It's like a great novel.

Agreed. It got a brief smile out of me when I heard the first bar of Jackson 5 play, but when we shot straight up before any show scenes, I realized that it was basically a frogger in the dark with ‘80s music. Which is another thing, actually. Hearing this music takes me out of the park and into the real world which I don’t like.
Disney maybe doesn't realize that Disney parks are more popular and appealing than Universal because of the differences that have always existed between the two.

Pixar Pier may make the crazed locals foam at the mouth, but no one is going to travel to the park to see this. Terrible long term business decision.
I really hope Pixar Pier doesn’t increase non-AP attendance. To me, that would be a clear sign that these types of changes are a waste of time and money and effort.

Universal gets one hit with Harry Potter and Disney freaks the hell out.
Speaking of Universal, how about those Universal ads during the Olympics, eh? They're pretty much saying that if you keep taking your older kids to Disneyland, they'll grow up as cowards and live in your basement as adults. While I have to admire the boldness of the campaign, the ads themselves paint a version of Universal parks that can't live up to the reality of what guests actually experience there (most of what they show only happens on screens).

There are some people, I know a few, that prefer Universal over Disney. *GASP* I keep telling them they're nuts but they don't want to listen.

The ad campaigns should really focus on the most charming aspects of UO, such as E.T.'s spacemen wielding a metal detector and the NASA van with spinning radar dish on the roof, as well as the static Diagon Alley bricks with an obvious speaker playing the sound of the bricks moving.

Hahaha I haven’t seen any of the ads but I’ll have to look them up now.

It won't be World of Avatar or SW:GE big, but never underestimate Disney's ability to hype the hell out of something and the willingness of Disney fans to travel for the most mundane things. You should have seen the marketing blitz for Season of The Force here in the Bay Area a few years ago, and SoTF was only a temporary event. Assuming that campaign was successful I expect there to be TV commercials, radio ads, and billboards for Pixar Pier around here come June.

TBH It won’t make anyone foam at the mouth. There will be semi-long lines at first and then it will die down after locals/APs have had a chance to see it once or twice. Kind of like GOTG:MB. Kind of crazy how fast the buzz died down on that one. It’s only 9 months old and right now on a Sunday at 1pm has a wait time of only 50 minutes. And Usually it’s even faster than the posted wait time. So really like 40 minutes.
