AA shows are going the way of Chuck E Cheese.
Just because something is outdated doesn't mean it can't be updated to become amazing again. Fer Instance, if they'd done an AA musical review in Cars Land, with all the residents of Radiator Springs singing pop songs from the 50's (Sheriff and Sarge), 60's, (Flo, Ramone) 70's (Filmore and Mater), 80's (Sally) and Life is a Highway (Lightning)... That could've been a blast! :D

AA shows are going the way of Chuck E Cheese. They are outdated and are made fun of in geek culture. See Five Nights at Freddy's.
It's sad what they have done to the Banana Splits and they weren't even AAs but they made them out to be in the new movie.

Can we get a kickstarter going to actually make this movie?

The more I learn about America Sings, and the more I listen to the soundtrack, the more infatuated I become with the attraction. It's everything that's perfect Disneyland- it's a musical celebration of America, two themes that define Disneyland. It features characters designed by Marc Davis. I would've loved to have been around to experience it.

But at the same time, Splash Mountain in Disneyland is my favorite ride there- so the attraction's closure is certainly justified. Perhaps the most egregious part of it's closure is the fact that building hasn't been utilized well since, and the attraction closed 32 years ago o_O
As someone who saw America Sings a lot, I can tell you it was great fun and technically impressive... but it had some issues. A lot of the verbal humor fell flat, the Wild West section should've been a lot better than it was, and a few of the characters were just cringe-inducing obnoxious. The biggest tech problem was the lack of sound-proofing between stages, so the loud "Down By The Riverside" finale of the Old South really intruded on the quiet "Home on the Range" finale of the Wild West. Poor planning, there. Still, the good parts and the overall wonderful Marc Davis designs made it all worthwhile.

Yes, I think the worst offender 'Old Grey Mare' didn't make it into Splash Mountain for a reason... I do think, like the rest of Disneyland, the idea, creative direction, and spirit behind the attraction is what makes it great, technical faults aside. It's when something is technically flawless but loses it's soul where problems arise (looking at you Fantasmic '17).

It's interesting that America Sings has become a permanent part of every Disney trivia book solely because of it's reuse in Splash Mountain and Star Tours- I've known about the show since elementary school because of it, while other older Disneyland attractions like the Motorboat Cruise aren't as wide spread on trivia sites.

I miss Motorboat Cruise, mainly because it was such an easy choice for "Worst Ride at Disneyland." :D

I’m just happy that I have extremely vague memories of seeing America Sings when I was super young. I couldn’t have been older than 4 or 5. Same with the skyway. Wish I could say the same for ATIS or Mine Train through Nature’s Wonderland / Rainbow Caverns.
