From Chit Chat's new article on Galaxy's Edge: “Take us to the darkest, dirtiest alley you can find because that’s where we’ll find the details we’re looking for,” said Walt Disney Imagineering executive creative director Chris Beatty.

From Disneyland stories of old: Walt Disney was adamant that the exterior of the mansion be kept in pristine condition, as he refused to have anything in his park look run-down or dilapidated. He famously said, “Let the ghosts take care of the inside. We’ll take care of the outside.”

Someone here doesn't quite get "Disneyland", and I'm pretty sure that person isn't Walt. Not all approaches to theme design work inside Disneyland. I know I post stuff like this here a lot, but I still think Galaxy's Edge would've been far stronger elsewhere.

So if anything they should’ve picked a pristine core world instead of a classy outer rim system for Disneyland, aside from it not going into DCA or the Toy Story lot

It should have been Coruscant upscale areas.
Not going with Kamino for the Sunshine States installment was also a missed opportunity

Those are...unusual. But hey, that's a pretty cool experience!

Earlier this week a guy came into my work with birthday cupcakes that were purchased for him by Chris Martin of Coldplay. The cupcakes tasted just like normal Sprinkles cupcakes, but I can't say I didn't felt slightly cooler for having one.
