I ended up being able to see Captain Marvel. I must be some unintentional contrarian because I honestly enjoyed it. The directing was admittedly weak and bland, lacking any real visual flair, though its weakness shined in aspects of Brie Larson's performance. I'm sure she'll be able to shine a lot more in the hands of the Russo Brothers. There were also some hamfisted feminist moments which just came off as pathetic and sad, but it did not dominate the film as I expected based off what others said. It's certainly not the greatest MCU movie and it's not particularly memorable, but it's not bad.

It is not as great as it used to be, but it is still decent. I have found a better chicken restaurant in Long Beach that I would rather go to.

You should go! I love the Boysenberry Festival. I am so excited for it to start.

What’s the chicken restaurant in Long Beach???

I just tried to watch “Christopher Robin” for the first time on Netflix. I got as far as the train station balloon chase and stopped. I like the acting, the puppets, the production values...the prologue was great.. I loved that CR’s co-workers had a lot of personality...but the idea of Pooh entering the real world is just SO NOT WHAT POOH IS ABOUT!!!

Is it worth watching the rest? Someone please tell me it all turns out to be a dream!

The ending feel good moment relies on a half baked business plan that makes no sense and honestly felt a bit anticlimactic.

As you know, the movie revolves around CR's job running potentially going out of business. CR's genius plan (If I recall correct)? Give all the workers time off so they can vacation and buy the suitcases the company makes!

Yeah, it makes no sense to me either. OR maybe it makes perfect sense, and I should consider switching my degree away from business management.

Definitely not Disney's best work, though I didn't find the movie to be offensively bad.

That business plan... wouldn’t even come close to working! :D Thanks for the warning. I’ll probably watch the rest in bits here and there. I do like all the individual elements, but after starting off so well (and treating so much of the first act realistically and quite successfully) and then veering off into turning the whole movie into a slapstick fantasy—the premise just doesn’t gel for me. It’s awkward.

Christopher Robin’s company should’ve sponsored an attraction at The Magic Kingdom about suitcases (with a top tier theme song) and become the official suitcase provider of WDW. It obviously worked really well for Eastern Airlines.

I've long held a disdain for Disneyland "vloggers", often thinking them pretentious, ignorant, and annoying- especially becaue it's obvious their ride narrations and stuff are an inconvenience to others around them.

I stumbled across a channel that uploads tons of Disneyland content- Disneyana Merchandise reviews, and clips from Disneyland trips. The video quality is good, and the videos are very well edited.

As Normal As It Gets Channel

I greatly enjoyed his Disneyland Olszewski Haunted Mansion review, but the video that won me over was his Jim Shore Tiki Room piece review, in which he says that it's the first Jim Shore piece he's purchased since he typically doesn't like the design of Jim Shore pieces (which is literally the exact same for me, it's the first and only piece I've purchased that's Jim Shore, for the same reason).

Also, once Pooh enters the real world he gets annoying as hell. That was probably the main reason I switched it off a few minutes past that point.

What's interesting about this observation, is that the whole point of the film is that Christopher Robin needs to embrace his inner "Pooh" and become a happier, more serene and playful person.

But seeing Pooh stumble around and screw up in the real world contradicts this message- though it's great for some comedy bits.

Yeah, and shame on Christopher Robin for holding down a job and trying to make sure his family doesn't starve! :D

Okay, on the flip side, I just started watching "Mary Poppins Returns" (it released a week early on iTunes), and--an hour in--I've got no complaints at all. Having been forewarned that it follows the exact same structure as the first movie, I was expecting that and I'm completely enjoying it. :D

Cool I’ll check that out. I find that Jim Shores style works well for the more whimsical IP like Alice in Wonderland. I have 4 Jim Shore pieces and 3 of them are from Alice in Wonderland. The other is this Jiminy Cricket piece that I bought on eBay....

Definitely works well with the Alice pieces... It saddens me that he gives that weird flair to his Haunted Mansion pieces. I'd have bought most of them if they were more accurate to what's in the ride
