I've tried that several times and the GIF never moves.
The image uploader must be broken. As I've uploaded a few now, small ones, and they seem to move in the editor but when you save it doesn't move out in the forum. I suggest reporting it to WDWMagic in the Help forum, possible a recent update caused it to break, it happens.

That seems like a convenient way to peddle information that is unverifiable.

Possibly but I don’t get the sense that they re lying. I’d put my money on that they either misheard/ misremember or D’amaro was a little too vague or misspoke when he addressed the audience off camera.

Either way, the public facing comments seem to line up with them "starting" projects in the next 5 years not them "finishing" projects in the next 5 years.

Oh man, I guess we should expect Avatar in 2033 then.
I honestly wouldn't put any expectation on opening dates at this point. I would say anywhere between 2028-2035 is a possibility for Avatar opening. We know from recent earning calls that the largest CapEx investments are coming in the later half of this decade, their words. Which means I expect construction to start on many projects anytime in the next 5 years, starting with Infinity Defense as we see now.

I don’t see Avatar opening any earlier than 2031. Avengers probably 2028 and Coco 2029. They said construction starts on Coco in 2026 right?

Could be right, I wouldn't put any bets on it right now personally.

Though personally I would like to see Infinity Defense opening in 2027 if they can, and Coco in 2028. They can do projects fast if they want to, so its just a matter of will I would think.

Yeah I originally wanted to say 27/28 for Avengers/ Coco too but they re just so darn slow sometimes. I mean it’s possible. These aren’t full blown lands they’re building.

Which is why I think its possible for it to happen like that. Plus, Coco is more international, which I would think would play better for the Olympics in 2028.

Although as we've seen they can do a new land in three years if they want, so who knows.

The cozy cone construction is done, and the new ordering counter has opened. You now order all food for any cones here, and then go pickup at a cone.

I'm late to the party (story of my life) on this one, but this makes me a tad angry. It seems cheap and slapdash, really Six Flags worthy. Especially for such a near-perfect land like Cars Land.

I love the functionality and operational efficiency of this concept, don't get me wrong. Ordering/paying/waiting at each cone was always messy and inefficient.

But this aesthetic looks cheap and ugly and uninspired. Unthemed TV screens hanging overhead, generic white rope tied around posts and fences, generic steel poles in the queue (notice the themed cone fence post from 2012 instead), and not a single themed sign or anything on the orange stucco wall. UGLY! And even worse, CHEAP! This is why I worry that TDA, and WDI, is now being run by folks who simply don't get it. :banghead:

Lowered Expectations.jpg

This building is ostensibly the check-in office for this motel. The front of the building is themed nicely and has a few Easter eggs planted in there in 2012. But now this new 2025 order window backside just looks awful in comparison. It looks like someone went to Best Buy for a couple of TV's, and then spray painted the cash registers orange.

TDA clearly didn't want to spend any money on this, nor even attempt to reach the standard established for the land in 2012 as seen in the front "motel office" portion of this building. Shame on them. The people in TDA today are idiots.

They've actually adjusted the TV's since then:

And have these signs that harken back to the old drive in order days:

The rope / switch back is now all properly attached, although it could be more aesthetically pleasing.

Color me unimpressed. Finally achieving mediocrity after a few weeks of operation doesn't deserve an award.

This still looks cheap and uninspired, especially compared to the circa 2012 Imagineering it is plopped into.
