Tempted to drive up there tonight after work and try this one out.

In other Nightmare-related news, Ken Page passed away yesterday. Absolutely gutted by this one. Especially since I just had the chance to see him perform and met him in person not all that long ago. I can't thank him enough for his contributions to everything Nightmare-related over the years (theme parks, video games, etc.).

Me thinks this was her trying to get 15 mins, as was posted she plans to follow up with a social media post, I also read she plans to get a lawyer. So she is trying to get paid from this.

So she either is trying to run from it now or lawyer said to wipe her social media. She removed all her videos with only one still viewable and under the comments she says "Society made something that never had to be viral " . This makes me think she is trying to lay low until the next person becomes viral at Disneyland.

Just finished booking my advance LLs for our upcoming WDW trip. I have so many thoughts about this process, and none of them are good. In short, the whole process feels like a such a scam. Is this how Disney wants their customers to feel leading up to a trip? It certainly doesn't make me want to do it again. Is the current strategy to forget about making lifelong fans, and instead just settle for "one and done" visitors, but soak them for all the cash you can? That's what it feels like.

As I've said before, we will go and we will have fun, but I'm not sure it will be worth the expense and planning stress when I can just go to DL.

On the other hand, I'm completely looking forward to visiting the space coast and Universal. Geeking out about rockets and Harry Potter with my daughter is going to be the best.

To @mickEblu point, there really isn't a place like Disneyland for younger kids. There isn't the creativity and theming that you get at Disney. Where do you take younger kids where they can do everything and meet characters? It's hard to quit Disney's products.

Disney burnout is a real thing. The parks are made to capitalize everything. There was a joke during this year's Knott's Hanging where Six Flags was looking for ways to capitalize a day at the park. Everything from Snickers billboards to tv advertising in the queues and upcharges on using the restrooms and drinking fountains and claiming all rights to youtuber's videos shot in the park. It's really sad to see how things have changed. However people keep showing up because they don't know better and it's Disneyland.

At Knotts I get a deal on food and live entertainment and no black out dates or weird phone apps. However I rarely ride anything unless it is walk on. I like to walk around and take pictures of ghost town. However, Knotts doesn't have Disneyland's theming everywhere but no where else either except maybe Universal. Universal is just too far to drive weekly or monthly and it is for bigger kids.

What are the alternatives?

Tiana's Bayou Adventure opens next month, and there's that new Best Buy carriage house they're building next to the Haunted Mansion. But is there any other active construction at Disneyland or DCA right now? I can't think of any.

Which means the next three years at least are going to be rather... uneventful.

Well for a place with so many construction walls, there is precious little new going in. Outside of the Mansion queue & retail, Tiana's Bayou Blast and Hungry Bear BBQ and whatever they think they are building in DTD. Still somehow most of the park is behind construction walls at all times. I can't remember the last time there weren't any construction walls.

Most of the current projects will take them to the end of the calendar year. The new projects like the 2 Avengers attractions will start after the new year.

I suppose the news that the Trolley will close in "Early 2025" is good news that Avengers Land will begin its expansion sometime in early calendar year 2025. That would take it's grand opening to a likely "Spring 2028" timeframe.

Still, aside from the Pressler years post-Indy, the next few years at least seem to be shaping up as a pretty sleepy time for both Disneyland and DCA. I wonder what the ticket discounts are going to look like by 2027?

Does it really matter all that much which Fiscal calendar it goes under for budgetary purposes? The point is that new construction will start sometime in calendar year 2025.

I suppose the news that the Trolley will close in "Early 2025" is good news that Avengers Land will begin its expansion sometime in early calendar year 2025. That would take it's grand opening to a likely "Spring 2028" timeframe.

I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to open it in May 2027 to coincide with the Avengers: Secret Wars movie opening.

DisneyForward should also start some construction in 2025 based on the recent information from Potrock. So I assume that starts with the EasternGateway stuff, which is the precursor for Avatar.

Also don't forget we have Coco which is suppose to start in 2026.

With the looming rumor of price increases happening any day, I decided I'd better get my tickets for my trip next month now.

I was going to get a 2-day ticket, one park per day, and it is $310. I then looked at the single-day ticket prices for the days I'm going and....

It's cheaper to buy them separately than together. A $57 savings.

I know this is common knowledge, but the first time it has happened to me. I guess it pays to go the week before Thanksgiving or else it would be $78 cheaper to get the 2-day ticket during that week.

For those of us who have been following Disneyland Resort construction/expansion since a 28K modem and know how to separate the media fluff from the bulldozer arrivals, that doesn't "appear" to be the case at all.

Everything they announced at D23 Expo for DLR was vague, and none of it had a firm timeline, much less an opening date. And even Disney has made it clear that everything they've announced this year with one or two vague concept sketches is part of a "multi-decade" plan. But they need to throw out some sketches and ideas now as part of the process of healing the self-inflicted wounds and rebuilding trust with local voters and politicians.

That takes it all into the 2040's. And meanwhile, Tomorrowland sits half abandoned and forlorn right now.

And to get anything major built (Avatar, Toy Story Convention Land, Disneyland Park expansion, etc.), they'll first have to build the Eastern Gateway parking/transportation complex. And that's going nowhere so far. I'll check back in 2025, but I'd expect only minor clearing work to begin south of Avengers Campus by then for the E Ticket.

And I've been following for quite a long time too, longer than I've had an account on this site, and it does appear that way to me.

But I'm sorry maybe I missed that part of D23, even though I was live posting about each announcement, but can you please point to where they specifically said that the actual stuff announced for DLR was part of a "multi-decade" plan.

I believe you're confusing the DLForward stuff with the D23 announcements. None of DLForward stuff was announced at D23. I'm of course not naive to believe that everything is just going to start construction tomorrow and of course things can change. But all the stuff announced was said to be in active development ready to go, ie not blue sky we have a vague idea project, And of the 3 major projects announced for DLR, it was only Avatar that didn't have a construction start date. Avengers was given 2025, and Coco was given 2026.

So do you really believe that nothing is going to be built between now and 2035 but the two Avengers attractions?

In all seriousness, any inconvenience this may cause to my vacation plans is absolutely NOTHING in comparison to what the residents of Florida are about to experience. If needed, I can reschedule. Praying to the weather gods that Milton is not as bad as predicted.
