I just read it was understaffed and long line for photo ops, isn't that every one of these Disney after hours events? Never been to one but not dying for character or cardboard cutout photos.

Here's a Presentation from the creative team for Jollywood Nights.

As if it couldn't get any worse. But then it just did.

This was painful to watch, and yet I couldn't look away. These poor guys, having to shill and hype their clearly inferior product in front of a very small audience of mildly disinterested superfans and lifestyle vloggers. If I were them I would have gone home after this, poured a big glass of Scotch, and seriously contemplated my life choices and question my bosses who make me do this in public.

This is why the cache' built up by WDI and Disney Parks in the 20th century has collapsed in recent years. They are now reduced to shilling crappy and poorly budgeted extra-cost events as if they were actual attractions.

The weak and limp "wooo" sound the audience makes at this point in the video sums it all up perfectly. The executives that budget and approve this stuff are idiots. They have no idea what they're doing, or why they're doing it. Wooo. 🫤

By all means, what DCA needs is for Disney to just keep making it worse by further ruining or removing things about it that were fine, all for no reason and dubious gain! That'll really bring the crowds and convince them not to just go to Disneyland instead!

Beasts Library was a cool little hidden gem but I will say I’m a little surprised to see how many people are sad to see it go on social media.

Part of it, I’m sure, is that (In my opinion) DCA had so little to offer in the charm/hidden gem department to begin with. Now it has even less.

Definitely part of it. The park lacks whimsy and themed indoor spaces. It’s also an opening day attraction. People have (some) nostalgia for DCA too. It’s old enough for that now. With that said, most of what was there on opening day isn’t there anymore so the nostalgia clock is constantly being reset.

Has anyone noticed the Tree House has lost a lot of it's leaves & branches. I was looking at Tarzan's treehouse and comparing it to now. Looks like WDI did a lot of pruning. Is that the way it looks in real life?

I do wonder if Beast's Library is seeing less foot traffic than it used to, thus justifying (in their minds) the change.

But they also messed with the flow when they put Anna and Elsa in there and made the Beast's library, rather than part of a complete walkthrough attraction, into a dead end.

So really, if that's their rationale, it's entirely their own fault.

Just checked out the Magic Key blockout calendar which is something I used to do often that I haven’t done in a few months. Wow, those blackout days are getting out of control. Looks like Believe Key is the new Enchant key and the Enchant Key is the new Imagine: Basically prices went up and your pass got downgraded to next level down. The holidays are where they really got aggressive with the blackouts. With a $1300 Believe Key you have a grand total of 6 weekend days available between October and December- all Sundays.

This. My family didn't know it was still back there. We thought it was just the M&G.

I was saddened to hear that First Lady Rosalynn Carter has passed away. She was 96, and may we all live a life as long and happy and productive as she had!

I couldn't find a photo of Mrs. Carter at Disneyland, like that hilarious one I posted earlier in this thread of President Carter jogging through the park one morning when he was in Orange County to deliver a speech. But I did find this one below; it looks like Mickey visited Mrs. Carter and Amy at the White House sometime during the Carter presidency.

Impressively, President Carter is still alive. But I imagine he'll go join his wife upstairs shortly, as that's how it often goes with spouses who have been married for over 70 years.

(EDIT: I just Googled. Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter were married for 77 years! Fantastic!)

Life Day on November 17th-

I've been having trouble finding photos of the gathering. This is the best I've seen. This isn't the entire crowd... there were a LOT of people there.

My friend and I started prior to the gathering in Oga's... it was a fun time for all.

We partook in the singing of Life Day carols this year. My favorite is Snowy the Tauntaun. See, Snowy was the tauntaun that Han took out to find Luke... the song tells his story... ALL of it.
