The Mandalorian

I mean, great, if she wants to make movies with right wing commentators have at it. It means many of us will never hear her voice again.

Is it a good career move? Depends what she wants out of an entertainment career. I'm sure she'll make good money pandering to right wing viewers about how oppressed she is. They eat that stuff up. It's what they do, they make money by getting people all riled up over imaginary persecution.

If I were an actor I'd much rather be in a Star Wars series. Had she turned this supporting role into a series lead she'd be making some serious money, to say nothing of selling autographs and photos, and meeting adoring fans at conventions.

figured you'd just want to mock and insult without actually even watching their first film lol and look at the audience score as the audience isnt filled with leftist "reviewers". as i said the audience score is 93%.
Audience scores mean nothing to me, and anyone watching film based on their political leanings should pivot away from that.

you should watch "run hide fight" from them, solid movie

93% audience score on rotten tomatoes, clearly doing something right.

its funny, ya'll whine that conservatives should just make their own stuff if they dont like things, when they do you go out of your way to mock and criticize... sad

Well, because their stuff is all political propaganda schmaltz and not actual filmmaking. God's Not Dead and its countless sequels are hysterically bad. The Kirk Cameron collection and the Left Behind flicks are cringe inducing.

There's a theatre near me that does original Christian adaptations of famous musicals/fairy tales. They're terrible. Not because they feature a message about finding God and Conservative values, but because that's about all they feature. Characters are weak, dialogue is stilted, and the story is there to only serve the message.

BTW, Michael Bay has been making Conservative-minded films for awhile and been mostly celebrated, even if the Transformers franchise hurt his rep in recent years. Clint Eastwood is another who aside from some bad filmmaking in American Sniper, has been quite successful despite his Conservative views and message. But, these people are actual film makers. Ben Shapiro...not so much. Signing on to a Daily Wire film would be like Pascal going from Mandalorian and WW84 to a Buzzfeed produced movie. And if she's the anchor to the film, they're in trouble, because Gina is not much of an actress.

it was premiered at the venice film festival and has gotten many good reviews and has an audience score that is very high so clearly people like it but yea sure what you said...
Audience scores??? Audience scores are usually polar opposite of film critics and people who know film. Audience scores hated Hereditary because it wasn't a pop-up scare filled Blumhouse flick. Audience scores hated The Last Jedi despite it being the best of the sequel trilogy. Audience scores just tell you how your average opinionated manchild thinks, because those are the folks flocking to RT to troll a a movie or to inflate a movie to combat the critics.

imagine being so miserable that ya'll have to put down somebody cause something good happened to them. we get it, you dont like her politics and want everyone to know.

try to stay focused on star wars and not your hate for your conservative neighbors.
This consecutive persecution complex is far from what happened to her.

I would prefer that they keep it just on Djarin and not so much on the Jedi. Make another show for that. The Mandalorian should be more of a (original) Kung-Fu type of show. Going from planet to planet taking on the next big bad guy. It gives The Mandalorian its charm instead of being just another Star Wars show.

Yeah, this is why the 2nd season fell kind of flat with me. They kept devoting time to setting up/including characters from the cartoon show without making us care about why they are there. Too many Jedi fights and business and the ending was jarring. I liked my little Space Western and the character dynamics in Season 1. Season 2 felt like fan service and setting up spin offs.

Just bring back Gina Carano's character and lets get on with the show.

Meh. She was an okay character, but she didn't really add much to the show. Just give me more scum and villainy rather than Jedis and cameos and I'll be a happy camper. As I said, I preferred season 1 and she was only in 1 episode of the first season. I didn't leave that episode wanting to know more about her and when we met her again, I still didn't. Gina is a great fighter, but not really an actress.

Are you surprised Disney's big takeaway from The Mandalorian's success is just "people like Star Wars" and not "people like well produced prestige television"?

Imagine if the SW universe had a showrunner (or two) like Feige and was able to keep things in sync and flowing with quality that the MCU has produced. I enjoyed the sequel trilogy and Mandalorian, but wonder if it is too late for the SW universe.

Your 2nd point is what she added. While I agree she isn't a great actress, but in my opinion her acting was fine for the part. It never really bugged me. But when she would fight, she kicked some tail and you could tell she knows what she's doing. The fight scenes with her were awesome, and great action is a big part of star wars.

Yeah, but Hollywood is filled with stunt performers who can act decently. Plus, I watch Star Wars more for the characters and world rather than brawling. I like my pew pew more than my lightsabers. Give me Space Western.

My favourite part of the series has been the last 2 episodes of season 1 with the IG droid's turn and sacrifice. The only other scene to come close in Season 2 was Bill Burr's moment with his old CO.
