They shouldn’t. But this isn’t a one time thing. But we can keep nitpicking things until they fit our agenda but we know the answer.

I will say whether you liked her ideals or not, she was warned multiple times. All the examples people are bringing up against the “progressive,” well how do you know that Pedro hasn’t been warned either? When you work for someone else & your culture doesn’t align with their company culture, there will be a conflict. And that’s beyond Disney. After the 5-10th warning, Gina had every right to decide if she should speak her heart or continue working for a company she may not agree with at all. If you get multiple warnings from any job, you’re gone. Let’s not be brand new just because we’re disappointed by the results.
I don't need TWDC to warn their employees about staying the political line of their company. I prefer, politically, for corporations to be neutral themselves or at least adopt neutral indifference towards the convictions of their employees. And, creatively, I think creative companies in particular should embrace rather than punish plurality. The creative product of a stifling atmosphere tends to be sterile.

I believe there was some behind the scenes drama when Gina insulted trans people and Pedro, who has a trans sister, confronted her on the set over it. Pretty sure that put her in a bad position with the company and they were just waiting for her next transgression. They probably actually said, "cross the line again, and your gone".

And it also appears if Pedro's role will be greatly diminished in season 3, if it happens at all.

Many comedians and comedy shows have made successful jokes about all kinds of terrible things, including pedophilia and rape. People laugh because A, the joke is well constructed and funny, and B, because they know this a comedy show and not the real world. Gina wasn't doing a bit, she wasn't having a laugh or satirizing anything. She was making a statement. A statement that goes against her employer's policies.

Also, to compare Gunn and her is idiotic. Gunn did these things decades ago, when edge humor was in. Everyone wanted to be Daniel Tosh and Dane Cook. Gunn was just REALLY bad at it. When they surfaced the first time, Disney told him this can never happen again. And it didn't. Ever. Gina was told to cut it out in November. Less than 4 months later and she's doing it again. That's a friable offense.

When Gunn was fired, it was because Conservatives were angry over Rosanne, so they brought up old news and made a stink about it. Disney was dumb and caved despite already forgiving Gunn for these tweets and Gunn being diligent about not repeating the long outgrown offense.

One is going through someone's history searching for things out of context to hang them by. The other is someone saying something and not liking the reaction they get. Gina was a moron. Not because of her views, although they are pretty dumb, but because she blew her shot by running her mouth on twitter.
'Gina' and 'Gunn'. You name the woman by her first name, the man by his surname.

If you were rightwing, you'd now get cancelled. 😀

Because her JOB is to be liked by the public. Celebrities make their companies money because people like them. If people stop liking you, then her company has no use for her.
This is an excellent point.

However, why should Disney assume Gina Carano is disliked? She is superhumanly strong, a champion, a woman who will keep standing and fighting even if you break her ribcage. A woman with an independent mind that she will speak regardless of majority intimidation. She will ram her right fist into you before you've finished saying "my privilege will not be questioned, so be silent woma..."

She is a mediocre actress, but a good typecast for Star Wars, which since 1977 has revelled in strong female characters.

But why should someone be terminated over that though, when it is not essential to their job?

'Election fraud!'
'No election fraud!'

Neither statement should lose you your job in a calm, sensible society.
Because "election fraud" is a lie, not an opinion.

And the rallying cry for the storming of the Capitol.

It's a point made above, so, kinda doubting your sincerity in asking about it as if it was news to you.

amen, great point, a creative company like disney should be embracing many views and many different kinds of people. They instead are creating an echo chamber akin to 1984 where if you step out of line of what big brother thinks youre thrown into a reeducation chamber lol

its really ironic that after 4 years of conspiracy theories and refusal to accept election results the left is now trying to punish people for not accepting an election result while its being recounted and put through courts lol what hypocrisy. waiting for cancel culture to go back to 2016/2017/2018 tweets to cancel all the horrible people that dared to question the legitimacy of the 2016 election. That wont happen of course because its fine if the left does it.

In the 60's (yea, back then) 1984 was required reading, at least in my school system. When the year 1984 actually came and went the world was not as described in the book, but, here we are in the 21st century now there seems to be a definite drift towards the chilling "Big Brother" mind and behavior control scenario. Tweeting, the way I see it, is of no actual value other than for people with nothing to do at any moment to blurt out brief comments. Things would be calmer, quieter and a lot less irritating if everyone just stopped using the Twitter platform, period. Things ran before Twitter, guess what, things will run just fine without Twitter.

You hear all the time “you should never respond to anyone while emotional. Take a few minutes and address it when you’re level headed.”

I think that’s the sad part about the internet today. We aren’t taught those same ideals over social media; therefore, people post while they’re in their initial emotional stage of receiving news. It does create problems. Twitter has also helped with a lot of things though & as a minority I’m glad there are platforms where certain people can have a voice now.

We can talk about how great the past was all we want, but back then it was easier to create peace when only one type of people were ruling the country & news outlets. Things described in books were mostly made for one type of American. It was easier to be complacent when many didn’t really have power or a voice back then like they do now. It’s been a progressive and regressive journey, which is life I guess.

Because that campaign against Jews was orchestrated by the political actors.

To distort is to deny...

Schools out.

Anyway...she’s gone. So is “he”....
Don’t want a political tag here...certainly don’t need one.

Move along.
ok so youre just making things up haha thanks for clarifying.

you should watch "run hide fight" from them, solid movie

93% audience score on rotten tomatoes, clearly doing something right.

its funny, ya'll whine that conservatives should just make their own stuff if they dont like things, when they do you go out of your way to mock and criticize... sad

Hard pass. I’ll go the opposite route and watch HBO Max’s Judas and the Black Messiah instead of whatever trashy schlock that is.
