The Incredibles

Clever... intelligent... spectacular.... warm... FAST!... original... inspiring... adrenaline pumping... edge of your seat... funny... a MUST SEE!

The only comparisons to previous Pixar creations would be the humor, the warm characters, and the stunning animation. It is no re-hash of anything they've done before. And for those wondering, it's not the same kind of touchy feely movie as Finding Nemo. This is very much an ACTION movie.

Of course, if you're a jaded, know-it-all, done-it-all, seen-it-all, lived-it-all, hard-to-impress type like so many people seem to be these days, you'll hate it I'm sure.

INCREDIBLE!

One of the reviewers I saw on the news tonight out of New York City said he thinks the movie is good enough that it could get a Best Picture Oscar nomination. Seems like a good way to spend an evening to me. :)

I just saw it, and WOW! It was incredable! The character devlopement, action, story, and humor were well done. Syndrome was really an evil villain. I really wish Disney would make films as great as this. Chicken Little has a new trailer out, and its not looking too good.

To see the new chicken little trailer and the Episode 3 trailer, go to www.comingsoon.net

Just saw it. AWESOME MOVIE!!!!! It was so good that I forgot that I was watching a Pixar movie. I had to remind myself that it was computer generated and not real people and real scenes. That how good it is. Again, GREAT MOVIE. Will be seeing it again!! :sohappy:

I thought the preview for Chicken Little looked funny. Everyone was laughing. It looks like it might be a good movie. The animation looked good enough to be Pixar and I'm sure no one would notice that Pixar wasn't involved.

The first thing I thought, was how Chicken Little looked like the little guy from the Darkwing Duck series (I forgot his name). I'm sure these will definitely make great walk-around characters at the parks. I have my hopes up for Chicken Little.

Possible, but I don't think the Academy would go for that.

Two given nominees are The Terminal and Ray (which, by all means should win).

The Aviator is a possible nominee depending on how good Leo does, and style-wise The Flight of the Pheonix is possible (but I think the movie looks like crap). Expect a Jude Law movie to be nominated as well, most likely Closer because of the strong casting all around (that will at least get best costumes). And dare I say, The Phantom of the Opera? Too many strong contenders are being released this holiday season that The Incredibles are going to get shuffled under as far as best picture goes.

But Pixar WILL get an Oscar for best animated feature. Unless some stupid foreign film wins it again.

So you don't think Shrek 2 will win it?

The following are the eleven eligible films to compete for Best Animated Feature.....only three can be nominated.

- Clifford's Really Big Movie
- Disney's Teacher's Pet
- Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence
- Home on the Range
- The Incredibles
- The Legend of Buddha
- The Polar Express
- Shrek 2
- Shark Tale
- Sky Blue
- The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie

I think it will be Shrek 2, The Incredibles, and either The Spongebob Squarepants Movie (if it does well) or Shark Tale. However, The Polar Express might find its way in there....

Despite how good Shrek 2 was, I feel it's humor was too pandering to be able to beat out The Incredibles. Pixar created a dry, sardonic style of humor for The Incredibles, where DreamWorks had a universal appeal more out of coy winks. On honestly think The Academy got enough of Shrek's style of humor in the original, and with how different and successful The Incredibles is, I honestly don't see anything that can beat it. The only competition it may have is Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence, and considering that's a sequel as well, it just can't beat the original idea that is The Incredibles.

Pixar is finally getting it's Oscar, and it's about blasted time.

I missed your edit...

The nominees will be The Incredibles, Shrek 2, The Polar Express, Ghost in the Shell 2, and either Shark Tale or Teacher's Pet (TEACHER'S PET? The critics loved it, which is why it may sneak in there). Shrek already won it's Oscar, so the Academy most likely won't pay it too much attention. The Polar Express is possible, but that depends on how effectively the book can be drawn out into a 90 minute film. Shark Tale, though good, isn't strong enough and too current; Teacher's Pet wasn't successful enough to win. Ghost in the Shell 2 is foreign, which makes it strong, but like I said before, nothing this year is as strong as The Incredibles is. It will win, and if it doesn't I wouldn't expect Ray to win either.

No what he means is the ACTUAL trailer, not just a clipping of behind the scenes featurettes from StarWars.com like on the DVD. Go to Chit Chat and there is a thread for the new trailer.

The Muvico theater I went to DID NOT show the wonderful trailer that is for Episode III. :fork: :fork:

Friday estimates are in at BoxOfficeMojo.... $20,800,000. Finding Nemo made $20,208,056 on its opening day.....if I'd have to guess I'd say that this one will have a bigger opening weekend.

I got the Son of the Mask trailer too. I remember when I saw the first one I really wanted a sequel, but this is not exactly what I had in mind...

BTW, where did you find the picture for your Anakin avatar? I would love to see the full picture :)

Just got back from seeing this movie and I must say that it was the best Disney film I have seen since the Lion King. Disney is stupid for losing Pixar STUPID, STUPID, STUPID!!!!!:brick:
