Just got back from seeing this movie and I must say that it was the best Disney film I have seen since the Lion King. Disney is stupid for losing Pixar STUPID, STUPID, STUPID!!!!!:brick:
:brick:

:zipit:

Please don't call a Pixar movie a Disney movie. That really bugs me.

I just came back from seeing The Incredibles and it was awesome! The animation was great as usual, and I think this movie will appeal do more audiences than past Pixar films.

I also saw the Episode III trailer and that movie looks like it will be the best one yet. I also saw "The Cars" trailer and I thought it looked kind of interesting. Was that Larry the Cable Guy playing the voice of the hillbilly car?

Yep, Larry the Cable Guy was the tow truck, and Owen Wilson was the sports car. Richard Petty also does a voice in the show.

All Disney has left is The Incredibles, and Cars (2005)...

From what I've heard, The Incredibles lives up to its name... its Incredible..
Well, no...they also have "American Dog" (2006), "Little Chick" (2005), and "Repunzel Ungrown" (or something along that name, no date for that). You can see posters of those 3 movies in MGM studios at the animation studio tour (where you can meet The Incredibles). They also have lots of artwork for Little Chick.

But...are these by Pixar? I assume they are...they're all 3-d animations

Actually, that would be American Dog, Chicken Little, and Rapunzel Unbraided. All three of them are being created by Walt Disney Pictures.

Pixar's contract with Disney finishes next year after Cars is released, and unfortunately at the moment they will not be renewing that. :(

Big First Day for The Incredibles!
Source: ShowBiz Data
November 6, 2004

Disney/Pixar's The Incredibles had a big first day as the animated action-comedy earned $20.9 million at the box office, which is slightly higher than "Finding Nemo"'s first day of $20.2 million. It should be another huge first weekend for a Pixar film with probably around $80 million for the three days. "The Grudge" came in at number two with $4.3 million and "Ray" at number three with $4 million.

Meanwhile, The Incredibles writer and director Brad Bird told Moviehole that he would be up for a sequel:

Well, you know, I think some people nowadays think that anytime a movie is successful it magically is a franchise and I don't think that is true of every project. I don't think that we need Jaws II, however, I do think we need Empire Strikes Back or Godfather II or Road Warrior or a Goldfinger so I think that if you get the original film makers and the intent of the original filmmakers is to equal or better the one that everyone like then they believe going in that they can do that then I would, you know, I love these characters and I would, you know, if I could do Incredibles II that was to Incredibles what Toy Story II was to Toy Story, I would do it.

I saw Incredibles yesterday. Great movie. Great animation. Great story. But... Just like Nemo, I came out of the movie and said "Is that all there is?" Don't think I need to see that one again. Like Nemo and unlike classic Disney (Snow White, Alladdin, LIon King) you leave the theater with no emotional attachment to the movie or its characters. It is basically a super hero movie with awesome special effects (Animation). This may be my problem, beacuse I keep going to movies from Disney hoping I see another classic and get disappointed everytime.

Don't get Cars? Almost the entire trailer was a Nascar like car race with cars with faces and voices.

Chicken Little trailer was interesting, but again, doesn't look like a "Disney Classic"

I have to agree with that. Although Pixar movies are excellent they just aren't classic like Beauty and the Beast or The Little Mermaid are...

Weekend estimates are in....$70.7 million. That's about $400,000 more than Finding Nemo's opening weekend.

Where it now stands at the box office:

- 3rd largest November opening (behind the first two Potter films)
- 5th largest 2004 opening (behind Shrek 2, Potter 3, Spidey 2, and The Passion)
- 25th largest single day (it made $29.4 million on Saturday)
- 23rd largest opening day ($20.4 million on Friday)
- 14th largest opening weekend

Seems like the classics are based off of Fairy Tails (i.e. Grims) or historicaly based fiction (i.e. Aladdin).

I think if Disney was smart, they would stop focussing on the digital so much and start focusing on character developement and story line.....

Great to hear! I left the theater hoping for a sequel. There is so much more they can do with these characters and so many stories that need to be expanded. I'll keep my fingers crossed :D

I too thought it was great, but was anyone else dissapointed by the cartoon short before it? It wasn't that funny, and I didn't really like it.

I respectfully disagree. Nemo, both Toy Stories, and The Incredibles all are or will be Disney classics. How could you not become emotionally attached to Buzz, Woody, Nemo, Marlin, Dory, Mr. Incredible, Dash, etc. ? They have many of the same qualities as the beloved characters from the classics you listed.

I thought I was the only one. I have always loved the animated shorts before the Pixar films but this one was not as memorable as previous ones.

HECK NO! THAT SHORT MADE ME MAD! That was completely messed up. The other ones were funny and what made them good was they were about 2 minutes with no talking. This one was stupid. I heard a lot of people around me go "Mmmmk." and "Riiiiiiiiight." I've seen the movie twice now and the second time I used the short to go get popcorn. It had a lot of people going "Huh? That's it?" They need to stick to the other ones and not try to make them little cartoons before the movie and just make them into the quick funny stuff. :D

Did anyone else think that Syndrome's Island with some Spiderman 3D technology make a great attraction? The ride vehicle could be that oval monorail thing.
Anyway. Great movie. Loved every minute of it. Besides the comedy, it was just a great adventure movie. A lot better than most of the live action stuff coming out lately. Brad Bird is a genius, Iron Giant is still one of my favorite movies. Not crazy about the short
