Project #5: As We Live and Breathe

At Glendale…

Mater: Good afternoon Imagineers. I see you have had a relaxing eve. I wish to impart on you information for use on a future proj-proj-proj-proj-proj…

(Mater walks in… what?)

Mater: Oh, sorry guys! Just a little late- hey, what-

Mater: Proj-proj-proj-proj…

(Mater smacks Motor’s back and Motor spontaneously sets on fire! Hack finds a fire extinguisher on the wall and sprays it around the room, covering it in a white froth. Motor falls to the ground and his head falls off.)

Mater: What was that?!?

(Bamsk8er whistles innocently on the side while pointing at TrevorA…!)
TrevorA: Uh… that’s Motor…

Disneyson: That’s also a very unoriginal name…

Mater: Well, good thing that’s over. Kinda funny they made a robot to act like me, because your task today is to create a Living Character and put it in context; For example, Lucky the Dinosaur fits perfectly well into the story of Dinoland U.S.A. and Crush compliments the story of the Seas Pavilion.

Motor: Proj-proj-proj-proj-proj-

(Hack kicks Motor in the head)

Mater: That’s enough! So get to work, guys, I can’t wait for more!!

CHALLENGE: Create a Living Character for any place in WDW with some sort of story behind it. (Can be a full show/attraction or an “experience”)
-Can be big like a show (similar to Crush) or small experience like Lucky or the Muppet Mobile Labs
-Must fit in with an area of one of the WDW parks (please state)
-Must not have one already made (i.e. no Muppets, Wall-E, or Remy)
-Detailed Description

Due: Thursday March 18th at 8pm EST

NOTE: This is an individual challenge. And I know it is a VERY short time to do this project individually, let’s see how you all do under pressure.

It has to be a character not existing in parks already (so no Wall-E, or Remy, etc)

BUT it can be a prexisting Disney Character (ie like Remy/Wall-E/Muppets) OR creation of your own (like Lucky or PUSH)

Yes
It can be any character you want, as long as it hasn't been used with the Living Character Technology yet.

Elliot The Dragon
at Fantasyland Fair

attraction:
nestled right beside Dumbo's Flying Circus is another circus tent with a big sign proclaiming that there's an actual live dragon within.

The brightly colored tent leads us into a little stadium with a small stage.

The barker welcomes us into the show as he tells of the story of the great green dragon that he has befriended and taken with him from a far away land.

The lights dim and he introduces... nothing.

The audience is dumbfounded as the barker points to thin air claiming that there's a dragon right there.

He turns to the space where the dragon should be.

"Elliot! we practiced this a dozen times! You can't be shy now!" The barker pleads, he then turns to the audience.

"Hehe, very sorry folks but it appears that Elliot here is very shy and would like you guys to turn away, which is bad for him because that means there will be no dinner tonight"

at this we hear little growls before the barker gets lifted up to the air.

"Put me down Elliot!" The barker exclaims as he is wiggled up and down.

The barker gets dropped to the ground where he sneezes. his sneeze causes whatever invisible creature there is to sneaze as well. A sneaze so powerful that the lights go out.

"Alright Elliot, I'm going to turn the lights back on when i count to three, you better show yourself" the barker says.
"1, 2, 3!"

When the lights turn back on, we see a giant cloth over what appears to be the dragon himself.

"Oh Elliot, stop playing around we have a show to do!"

"I need some people in the audience to help calm Elliot down and help me take this tarp off"

Some guests come down to the stage and pet the dragon, while some others help the barker remove the tarp.

Lo and behold. Elliot, all 15 feet of him. Towering over the audience with a shy grin on his face, waving hello to the guests.

The barker then asks the audience what tricks they would like to see Elliot do.

"breathe fire!" one audience member suggests.

The barker takes out a stick and sticks some hot dogs and marshmallow on it.

Elliot huffs and puffs but nothing comes out. One more time says the Barker and Elliot tries even harder until a small stream of flames comes out and burns the food on the stick

"Fly!" says another audience member. Elliot tries to fly by flapping his wings really hard, the whole stadium could feel the gusts of wind blow but alas Elliot is too tired. "Maybe next time" says the Barker.

He then asks everyone to come down and spend some time with Elliot up close to make him feel at home.

The audience gathers around and the barker even lets some of the children touch him.

Some audience members are even allowed to play a game of Tic tac Toe with Elliot, with his belly as the game board!

We also learn that Elliot loves apples and we are even allowed to feed him some.

Alas time has flown by too fast and Elliot must now take his nap. We all say goodbye to Elliot as we are shuffled out of the theater, Elliot waves goodbye to us as we exit and we promise to visit him again.

Factoids:
-Featuring everyone's favorite dragon from the classic Disney movie "Pete's Dragon", guests are treated to a special encounter with Elliot, the world's friendliest dragon.

-The attraction will hold a small amount of guests each time to guarantee a personal exprience for all.

-Located in the expanded Fantasyland right beside Dumbo's circus to add on to the Fantasy Fair atmosphere of it all.
