One final announcement for the day! Starting in Year Three, we will have a new continuous event at Hogwarts that will take place in:

The Great Hall
l_hp3-fx-479.png

The Great Hall will be a new addition in the Discussion Thread - where we will host Disney trivia game nights, community activities, and much more (maybe even some Harry Potter trivia too!)

And also as a special treat - we'll have some new faces to The House Cup joining us for these events as well!

Please give a warm welcome @betty rose @figmentfan423 @MOXOMUMD and some onlookers @donaldtoo and others who have expressed interest in playing or following along with these activities with us in The House Cup! Thank you so much! :)

These will start sometime next weekend (as I'll be a little busy this weekend) but wanted to give the Houses a heads up for future events!

Thank you all and good luck in Year Three!

Wouldn't it Be Nice if we could have a roller coaster that was Fun, Fun, Fun? The new theme for California Screamin' (renamed California Dreamin') will be the famous California band, The Beach Boys, whose songs will be the on-board audio of the attraction as you Catch a Wave on the hallmark attraction of Paradise Pier. The Good Vibrations from the new Surfin' U.S.A. paint scheme of blue tracks makes it feel like your riding the waves of Southern California while listening to the best hits of the classic summer band. The new audio will add to the ambiance of the Pier, while also being played in the queue, whose wait times will be God Only Knows how long.

To get a feel of how this new retheme will work, mute the first video below of the coaster and start it at 1:16, then his play on the Beach Boys song and enjoy!

California Screamin' is a thrilling roller coaster in the heart of Disney California Adventure, but while thrilling, it doesn't evoke a classical California wooden coaster feel, with the high powered launch, steel track, and loop. As a Phase 2 in Disney California Adventure, Paradise Pier will be rethemed (Including California Screamin') to the era of beachfront classical piers. The California Screamin' track will be repurposed and redone with a wooden track, and the launch removed and replaced with bunny hills approaching the first lift chain hill. The click-clack of the roller coaster going up the wooden track and veering around the unbanked wooden curves, along with the re-theme of the entire land to a simpler time, will transport guests back in time to 1920s-30s So Cal beachfronts piers. The inspiration for the new California Screamin' comes from one of the oldest and most famous California coasters, the Giant Dipper, which opened in 1924 at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.

After two days of thinking here's part 3 and final post about my restaurant/night club for Hollywood Studios.

Inside "Hollywood Land Club and Show" the tables will be nicely decorated with wonderful silverware including a glass vase containing flowers with a nice smell, and the food quality will be great for the adults and children. The music inside will be original and during the evening the lights will be dimmed down a little to give a more night time feel to it. Especially during the stage shows where the performers are dressed in old school style dresses. Chip N Dale can also show up a few times as Clarice's guards when ever Clarice wanders around the restaurant before and after the performance is done when she isn't inside her meet and greet room. Forgot to mention the plates and food cups won't be like the plastic and paper made ones you would mostly see at various Disney food courts and restaurants. Finally, there will be a store where guests can buy good quality merchandise of the store and some featuring Clarice or Chip N Dale. Such as cups, glass, and stuffed animals.

(And that's about it for my restaurant idea themed after "Two Chips And A Miss". It was such much fun thinking up this idea. This might be wishful thinking, but if an idea like that every become a reality it sure would be a great experience. Especially since HS is going through a major change in the next few years.)

Mini Challenge - California Rethemein' - For Ravenclaw!

latest

We here at Imagineering are always looking for new ways to make your visit to Disneyland Resort a memorable time. So we are now proud to announce a new seasonal theme for California Screamin'; throughout the months of November and December California Screamin' will be rethemed to Christmas Screamin'. The story goes that Santa flies all around the world in one night to give all the good boys and girls of the world presents, and we all know that he delivers those presents in his sleigh. Well now Santa offers you all to come aboard his sleigh, and ride around the nicest place in California, Paradise Peir. This seasonal theme of California Screamin' will add new props to the queue, add new scenery to the ride, add covers of Christmas classics from SoCal bands to be played while you ride, and most importantly make your trip to Disneyland Resort just a little bit jollier.

Volcano_%28Jimmy_Buffet_album%29.jpg

Coming this Christmas to the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California to celebrate not only the holidays but also the birthday of a well-known musician is the re-theming of the California Screamin' into Jimmy Buffett's "Volcano." The entire ride will be re-themed into a volcano and the guests must escape the erupting volcano while listening to the classic song "Volcano" by Jimmy Buffett throughout the ride. Each train will also be named after other classics from Jimmy Buffett, which include the "Cheeseburger in Paradise," the "Margaritaville," "Fins," "Boat Drinks," and the "Jamaica Mistaica," and as the guests board each of these trains, that particular song will play. After the ride takes off and is at the highest point of the ride, the volcano will erupt and the guests must try to find a way to get away from the volcano. As the ride reaches the station and the guests exit the ride, they will immediately enter the kingdom of Margaritaville to show they have escaped the volcano eruption.

Thanks to @David2319 for coming up with this mini-challenge idea!

For this mini-challenge, you must create a new Disney park icon for any Disney Resort around the world!

If you decide to make up a new park with a new icon, you must include a brief description of the theme and lands of the park.

If you choose to put in a new icon in a classic park, be sure to include why the Icon change has taken place and how it fits better then the current icon.

The icon can be any theme you wish, just make sure to keep to the 5 sentence (no over/under) requirement and the option of 2 images max!

future-city-logo.png

In 2038, Future City (未来城市) will be the 2nd theme park in Shanghai Disneyland, which will be a combination of Future World and Walt Disney's vision for Epcot in the 1960s. Almost 70 years later, his vision is finally realized, as China's growing population looks to facilitate new forms of living for their citizens. To combat the growing population, Future City in Shanghai Disneyland will be located about 3 miles north of the theme park (located just right so that when you approach Tomorrowland, Future City is the backdrop), with a high speed monorail connecting the destinations. Inside Future City, the hub and spoke model will be used, where the interior layers is for high density living (which will boost up to 8 million people) with offices, shops, restaurants, and recreation. The Peoplemover transport system will then radiate from the central hub to the varied living areas, as well as a Futuristic World's fair (acting as the theme park location in Future City) with a variety of high tech attractions much like Future World at Epcot.

In a 2028 renovation of Adventureland, Imagineers will create a volcano to be the icon of the New Adventureland. This volcano will house two attractions, the first being Fire Mountain. Inspired by the original idea, Fire Mountain will be an intense E-ticket roller coaster in which guests, after trying to help evacuate members of a fictional South American community inside the caverns of the volcano, have to wiz deeper into the caverns in order to escape the volcano due to a collapse in the main escape route. The second attraction will be a boat ride based on the Pixar animated short Lava. These attractions will be located next to the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, and will draw both teens and families back to Adventureland.
