Icon Not Believe We're Doing This - @RMichael21
In association with the Hufflepuff House

Disney theme parks are known for their iconic attractions, dining, entertainment, and (of course) icons. Therefore, coming to Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Resort Paris, one of the weakest links in the Disney Parks brand, will be a brand new icon to lead the park onto the world stage.

walt-disney-statue-big.jpg

Replacing the tacky Tram Tour entrance (which is moved elsewhere, near Rockin' Roller Coaster) Hollywood Backdrop (as seen in the above image) will be the all new Hollywood High-Rise Theater, a theater venue inspired by the classic Hollywood theaters of the 1920's and 30's, such as the Chinese Theater, Carthay Circle Theater, El Capitan Theater and more. The brand new 2,500 seat theater will host extravagant, condensed stage productions of classic Disney animated films, such as Frozen, Mary Poppins, Aladdin, and more.

The theater will create an wonderful icon at the end of Hollywood Boulevard for the park when it opens in 2019, introducing a more mature look for the park as it goes through its intense overhaul in the next few years.

Icon Not Believe We're Doing This: Ravenclaw Submission

Disneyland 3rd Gate: Hyperion WestCOT
Fair%20Illustration%204.jpg

Designed after the Hyperion building in the center, and icon of the 1939 New York World's Fair, will become the newest Disney icon for Hyperion WestCOT. Located in an expanded Disneyland Resort in the near distant future, the once thought of WestCOT expansion of the Disneyland Resort has returned with a new twist, capturing the essence of what the Epcot of the 80s and 90s was about; edutainment.

The 250 ft tall towering needle structure along with a geosphere housing a 12 story spherical atrium of a map of the world, is the new icon for Hyperion WestCOT. The icon will be the symbol of hope and human ingenuity has we progress forward into the 22nd century, as a reminder of our past, present, and hopes for the future. The surrounding pavilions will also be equipped with symbols of their own, reminiscent to the old Epcot pavilion symbols to unite the message of the park and make the icon inclusive in the story.

Sanjay's Super Journey - Coming to Epcot in 2019
Hufflepuff House
sanjays-super-team-hindu-deities-pixar_article_story_large.jpg

When tasked with creating an all new E-Ticket for Walt Disney World based on a never before used Pixar property, Hufflepuff's minds immediately to one of Pixar's most successful shorts, Sanjay's Super Team. Therefore, our property of choice will be joining the Epcot lineup, heading the all new India pavilion at Epcot, which will open at the park in 2016.

We chose to incorporate our attraction into an all new India pavilion due to the short being heavily influenced by Indian culture in its theme, design and story. The attraction will be a retelling of the short, but will be unique in its ride system, technological advancements and guest interaction.

To familiarize yourself with the short, and its story, you can watch it HERE:

Location:
The India Pavilion (and Sanjay's Super Journey) will be located on the plot of land in between China and Germany, replacing the current outpost area in World Showcase.

The Pavilion:
Sanjay's Super Journey

Ride Length: 6 Minutes
Fastpass+: Yes
Attraction Level: E-Ticket
Location: World Showcase, India Pavilion (Between China and Germany)

Facade:
The facade of the attraction will blend right in with the rest of the pavilion, which is themed to an Indian market place and town square. The attraction's facade will be themed to the exterior of Sanjay's lovely Indian abode, transporting guests into the world of the short film.

Queue:
In a similar vein to Peter Pan's flight, the queue of Sanjay's Super Journey will give guests the chance to take a tour through Sanjay's home. Guests will walk through Sanjay's foyer, living room, kitchen, dining room, back porch, outdoor garden, and then finally ending inside a long hallway of their home, where they will board their vehicles Along the way, guests will find interactive elements inspired by Indian and Hindu culture, which will make the wait in line much more tolerable.

The Vehicles:

Guests will board Hindu inspired vehicles, each one evoking the essence of one of Hinduism's many gods. As for the technology inside the vehicles, the cars will sit on a trackless, motion base. However, that's not all! The vehicle can become lifted off of the floor, and electromagnets attached to "vines" (which can hold A LOT of weight) can pick up the vehicle and create a flying effect by suspending the vehicle above the action of the attraction for various scenes. This effect will be crucial in transporting guests between reality and the temple where the action of the attraction takes place. Each vehicle can hold six people (three rows of two).

Ride Experience

Guests leave the loading area in groups of six (themed to the hallway, which was mentioned above) and enter a medium sized room, where three vehicles at a time can be held. This means that there are two rooms attached to the loading area. It is here, that we see a condensed version of the movie's first scene, where Sanjay and his father "bicker" (however, dialogue is added to this scene) about praying in a miniature Hindu shrine.
sanjay2.jpg

This scene is roughly seventy seconds, allowing for a 45 second dispatch time. However, once Sanjay accidentally blows, guests are transported out of the small room and rejoin the other group of three cars in a massive room, as seen in the short.

The next scene is about two minutes long. This means that there are two of these large rooms, allowing for an increased capacity, longer scenes and a more immersive experience. How this will work is simple. The trackless ride system allows the vehicles to travel down the path
not traveled by the previous set of six vehicles into the next scene. (If that makes any sense, haha :p). This means two identical scenes will occur at alternate intervals, allowing for this increased capacity but not diminishing the length of the attraction.

In the transition between scene 1 and two, will be the first time the "floating" effects on the vehicles will be used. Magical vines will extend down onto the vehicle and pick it up and spin it around and around. Hindu music and beautiful special effects will transport guests from Sanjay's apartment to one of the four rooms that evoke the massive temple seen in the film. Upon entering the temple, the vines disappear and guests return to the ride track.

This scene uses a large screen dome to extend practical sets to bring this temple to life. This "battle" scene will see all six vehicles circle around a Sanjay animatronic, his action figure and the monster, battling it out. However, it seems bleak for the guests and Sanjay. We see the Sanjay animatronic back towards the line of guests and the vehicles submissively back up against the wall of the room. The guests enter the darkness and enter the next, scene.

In the pitch black, the six vehicles suddenly see Sanjay and his action figure in a small pool of light. The vehicles circle around Sanjay, but suddenly, a colorful glow appears behind the vehicles (on the screens). The cars turn to see the three members of the super team appear and ready to save the day!
Snjy-big.jpg

The evil monster reappears through the roof (actually just a screen, blended in extremely well to the walls of the temple) and the Super Team begins to fight the monster! This action packed sequence takes place directly above guests heads, with the motion bases shaking and tilting whenever the temple's walls are crashed into by the monster. In addition, 4D effects such as blasts of air will unhance the immersive elements of the attraction. With the help of the Super Team, the monster is defeated and darkness falls onto the scene as the vehicles enter darkness.

Using a similar transition as after scene one, vines will pick the vehicles up, transporting guests back to reality and into Sanjay's apartment. We see Sanjay embrace his father and guests return to the loading area.

Indian Marketplace
The merchandise location(s) for the new India pavilion will offer souvenirs evoking India's rich and diverse culture, allowing guests to bring home a piece of the "country" with them.
Lajpat_Nagar_marketplace_in_2006.jpg

Café Lotus
The main dining option of the pavilion will be a (relatively) small table service venue that offers traditional Indian cuisine for Epcot guests to enjoy, therefore widening the variety and dining options of World Showcase.
IFME-small.jpg

Overall, our goal here at the Hufflepuff House was to extend World Showcase's goal of giving Epcot guests a unique cultural experience obtainable nowhere else in the world! We hope you've enjoyed your journey to India and have a magical evening!

Imagineers and the Ball of Luxo - Ravenclaw

We here at Ravenclaw have been creating something. Something wondrous, that is out of this world. Something gigantic, that needs to be seen with your own eyes. Something new, that can only be found with the magic of Disney. What is that something? Well that something is...

The Axiom : An Adventure with WALL-E

Tomorrowland is a vision of the future. The world of tomorrow that never was. Sometimes there are films that resonate in harmony with the themes of tomorrow. Wall-E, the 2008 Disney/Pixar film, is one of those properties. Found in between The Carousel of Progress and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is the newest E-ticket in the Magic Kingdom Park, "The Axiom : An Adventure with WALL-E"

Queue -

Guests enter the queue seeing a giant billboard covering an entire wall of the first room in the queue, inviting guests to enter the Axiom for “The First Tour of Future Living presented by Buy N Large.” As guests move through the queue, the CEO of Buy N Large explains the Earth’s terrible condition for the future, and the Axiom as the solution to preserving the human race. This introductory theme fits in well with the “World’s Fair” theme of The Carousel of Progress nearby, giving the area a better transition from Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin to The Carousel of Progress. The PeopleMover also flies over guests ever so often giving a preview of the attraction.

As guests walk into the next room, guests overhear AUTO on the intercom saying, “You are about to be transported onto the moving walkway. Please watch your step.” This room is very narrow and is filled with futuristic poster screens explaining what goes on over many years with posters explaining articles on the impact of earth being polluted, Buy N Large CEOs becoming an authority on Earth, and WALL-Es being created as the solution to clean up the Earth. The end of the moving walkway showcases robots from Buy N Large creating WALL-E robots. As you enter the next room, you overhear AUTO saying “The moving walkway is ending. Please watch your step.”

The next room is a WALL-E robot training facility; this is where all the WALL-E robots are tested to clean the Earth. To understand what intense testing they go through, Buy N Large has set up an interactive queue for guests to try out before boarding the Axiom. Some of these interactive elements are sorting different parts of a robot into separate compartments (similar to the mine train queue), and helping WALL-E robots recognize trash to clean up and compact (similar to the crabs in the Little Mermaid queue). After this guests will walk into a dark room.

the-wall-e-s-world-origin-from-us-to-them-396607.jpg

Pre Show -

The lights in the room darken more, as a mysterious yet familiar voice is heard.

???: While we the humans of the Axiom escaped to space, Buy n Large stayed behind promising to clean up the world. We were promised to return once life was found again here on Earth.

The lights brighten as the speaker is revealed to be none other than Captain B. McCrea. Large banners of pictures depicting a hopeful view of Earth in the future are hanging down from the ceiling. While above the captain is a banner with 'Celebrating Down to Earth Day' stated.

Captain: Well we did return, and it was thanks to two robots, WALL-E and EVE. Through their efforts they brought to the Axiom a sapling of a tree. Now even though AUTO went rogue, and tried to destroy WALL-E, EVE, and the planet, he was defeated by none other than me. Once we charted the course back to Earth, all was well, and we were finally home. So now we come together today to celebrate our return to Earth. It's been over a year since the general population has been allowed back into the Axiom, but for old times sake lets take a tour of our old home.

A ringing is heard.

Captain: Hold on, it's for me. Hello? Uh-huh. Okay. Goodbye. Well it seems that a lighting storm is fast approaching. I don't think there's anything to worry about.

The doors open so that guest may load into the ride vehicle.

Captain: Oh how I wish I could go with you guys, but I gotta stay behind, and give this speech for the rest of the day.

Guests progress into the final room which is the loading area of the queue on board the Axiom. A billboard above introduces guests to their ride vehicle.

Ride Vehicle -

The ride vehicle is much like the one used in Journey into Imagination with Figment. The ride vehicle is themed to the hover chairs as seen in the film. The capacity is 7 per vehicle in 2 in the front and 3 in the back.

images-2-700156.jpg

Ride Experience -

n35jc4.jpg

General layout to give an idea of how the ride works.

Scene 1 -

The vehicles move through the Axiom, specifically the Captain's Quarters. They face the windows allowing guests to view the night sky from Earth. However a looming thunderstorm approaches towards the Axiom. The vehicles turn to face a disabled AUTO. A large clap of thunder is heard as lighting strikes the Axiom. The lights flicker on and off as electricity surges into the Captain's Quarters. With the electricity surge AUTO comes back to life.

latest

AUTO: You refused to listen to me. Earth is not safe. Rapid storms of electricity, ice, and water threaten the very existence of you, the humans. I have determined to return to space, and I will not be stopped.

AUTO brings out his electrical stun gun.

AUTO: Resistance is futile. Now return to the main room. Return to your past, the good life.

The Axiom's engines start, and are heard. The sounds of the creaking are heard as the ship begins to leave the ground. On a screen behind AUTO scenes representing the positive living of those onboard the Axiom are played.

AUTO: This is what you left, and now you shall return.

The vehicles soon leave the Captain's Quarters and enter a large hallway.

Scene 2 -

As guests enter the hallway they see advertisements for Buy'n'Large being played on the screens over head them. Guests will pass by another set of windows. This time making guests feel as if there were really leaving Earth. A white robot is seen flying towards the window with a rather square robot in one hand, and her other hand outstretched with a laser blaster being used instead of an actual hand. The white robot shoots its blaster, and covers the windows in smoke.

2242216-eve_wall_e_11444456_885_370.jpg

With the smoke in play not allowing guests to see outside the windows, they hear a zooming past them. The vehicles turn around, and guests can now see that the white robot and the squarish one are now on board, and are floating just above the floor.

AUTO: EVE and WALL-E so nice to see you once more. However you will not stop me from leaving the Earth, and entering space. Now not only have you destroyed a window, but it seems you two have gone rogue scaring the humans. SECUR-T, go and capture those rogue robots.

Red lights start flashing, as sirens go off. The vehicles begin to move, but are told to HALT by a SECUR-T robot.

SECUR-T: You have come into close vicinity of some rogue robots. For your safety please remain sea-

Walle-Security-1-.jpg

EVE blasts the robot. The SECUR-T robot spins around releasing smoke. Speaking rapidly every word it was saying until it falls onto the wall. EVE throws WALL-E ahead of the guests to open a door. Unseen before WALL-E appears before the guests.

WALL-E : WAAALL-E (points to himself), EEEEVA (points to EVE)
AUTO: I'm sorry WALL-E, but I simply can't let you through that door, but how amount a trip back to where you belong?

Hydraulics are heard, as the floor begins to open up.

Scene 3 -

The vehicles go down into the garbage disposal room. Dormant WALL-As become active once more, and sine there's no trash to compact they go after the vehicles and the two robots. However given the fact the room is dark it's rather hard to make out any of the shapes. EVE appears before guests

EVE (concerned) : WALL-E? WALL-E!

Off in the distance guests see a faint yellow light.

EVE (excited) : WALL-E!

The vehicles head to the light, but something is amiss. Soon a giant WALL-A comes to life, and it seems a bit to late run away from the robot. A giant hand comes down, and swoops toward the guests. EVE still with the guests blasts the other robot. In recoil the WALL-A slams into a wall causing the whole room to shake, but lets in a bit of light. That light is the only way out so naturally the guests and EVE head there.

Upon reaching the light EVE and WALL-E now reunited, hug. The vehicles now transition into the next scene.

Scene 4 -

Guests renter the hallway. This time they encounter M-O. He is dutifully cleaning until he notices the guests, WALL-E, and EVE all filthy. M-O mentally freaks out at the mess, and starts to try to clean WALL-E. Once M-O attempts to clean WALL-E, Hal, WALL-E's cockroach, chirps. M-O promptly faints to the squeaking of the cute bug.

Leqsr7w.png

The vehicles continue down the hallway, and pass the window that EVE broke. Now patched with metal. However if guests look through the window they will see the Earth slowly going away confirming that guests are now in space. The misfortune repair robot, BURN-E appears outside. He starts waving at guests, but realizes he's outside the Axiom. He soon starts banging on the window to be let back in, and soon presses himself against the window out of fear of falling out.

burn_e_by_zgul_osr1113.jpg

The vehicles soon transition into the next scene.

Scene 5 -

This will be the first and last screen to depend completely on screens as all the other scenes where mostly animatronics except for a few instances. Guests are now back in the Captain's Quarters. AUTO appears on the screen.

AUTO: Your back? Very well I must dispose of you myself. My apologies for this.

AUTO approaches guests with his electrical stun gun ready. However as he approaches guests WALL-E come out, and holds him back. Hal comes out from WALL-E, and starts crawling all over AUTO. EVE appears, and gets ready to shoot AUTO.

AUTO: Go ahead EVE, shoot me down, and down will go WALL-E.

AUTO's caw pops out, and ceases WALL-E putting him just a few inches from being electrocuted to death. Hal continues to climb AUTO, and reaches a cable connected to AUTO. He chews through it. AUTO drops WALL-E, and starts to spasm. Hal flies to WALL-E.

AUTO: What is hafening? Whove deur? Gove iat! ERROR MESSAGE : Memory Failure. Strooop! ERROR MESSAGE : System Failure. Do you wish to exterminate program? Program exterminated.

The light of AUTO pops out and smoke and sparks emit. WALL-E and EVE rush to the nearest exit, but are too late along with the guests. AUTO meets his final fate he is finally dead. The vehicles turn around to reveal another scene.

Scene 6 -

WALL-E and EVE are seen as guests get ready to exit. If guests look out from the portholes they will see they are back and safe. Occasionally BURN-E shows up on the window, still trying to get in. As guests near the end of this final scene WALL-E and EVE will say goodbye to guests by name as part of the Storymaker program of MyMagic+.

WALL-E's Garage Gifts -

As guests leave The Axiom : An Adventure with WALL-E, they will enter the iconic location of WALL-E's garage. A variety of merchandise based on Tomorrowland can be found here including exclusive Disney Parks WALL-E Tsum-Tsums. With the inspration of WALL-E's garage in mind guests will be able to find WALL-E's TV. Playing classic movies that WALL-E just so happened to find as he roamed the desolate Earth. Similar to his garage there will be knickknacks, trinkets, and other little goodies that WALL-E has found strewn around the wastes of Earth.

maxresdefault.jpg

In conclusion we hope you enjoyed your visit to the Axiom, and we hope that you agree that The Axiom : An Adventure with WALL-E gives Tomorrowland a landmark attraction for years to come.

Presenting Slytherin House’s latest project,

Wall-E: Cosmic Adventure

Replacing the Tomorrowland Speedway is a brand new e-ticket dark ride featuring Wall-E.

izDnPNuA0gwEprKZ-WeVRWmAkquuGxngd_aoZxaOvKW0WTkQUD1Po5aC3vAxVVJxl_I-W9AAKwNjdrTIL9uF0aK2mA8igliwf-r_3MukFbZVbmnIFMU3Bn2pGTToR8fXGrFoFD56

The entrance to the Attraction.

Queue
The Queue weaves back and forth with-in a clean, white building. Posters, and video screens announce the evacuation of Earth to large outer space cruisers, such as the Axiom. BnL company representatives explain the purpose behind this move. In the middle of some turns of the switchback queue, there are large, clear screens, similar to the “scanner” in the queue for Star Tours. These play BnL advertisements for Wall-E, the Axiom, Autopilot, and Eve.

Attraction
Guests line up in front of three doors, separated into rows. Above the doors are two screens, from which there is a message showing a live-action older man. “Hello everybody, and welcome! I can’t wait to send you to our BnL space liner, the Axiom, for your life in space while the Earth is cleaned up, hah hah! For now, I have some important information to tell you. First of all, to get you deep into space, we’ll be putting you into hypersleep for just a couple of years. Don’t worry: It’s perfectly safe. When the doors in front of you open, please move all the way down your rows to the last available seat. Please latch your safety belts, and put all items on the floor next to you. Please no eating, drinking, smoking, or flash photography, and watch your young kids.” A bad-sounding, obvious voice over actor comes on over the guy’s film as the safety instructions are repeated in Spanish. Then: “Oh! It looks like it’s time to go!”

bX6HGNc9lVqGkzIwkasnH9cHRlhEo9l9xb6DxFOYiQ3j38knWisUK1Z2Dg40yVw6vxh1va8ZEDKn1eQd3wke7HqfkJq5SJnD9YwqjItkvFbrSVCEklg-2jeDqxysoZBVP5WVW86i

The BnL logo shows up on the screen, and the doors open. Enclosed ramps lead guests to the room where the benches are.

Inside this small room (it looks like a simulator such as in Star Tours), there are three rows of six seats. Each row looks like a long bench from the film, with doors that open and shut on each side. It looks like a simulator cabin on the inside, all clean and neat, white with the BnL logo colors.

After seat belts are checked and the cast member is gone, the lights dim and a robotic voice is heard: “Initiating hypersleep”. The room goes completely black. After a couple seconds of dark silence, the lights fade back on, and the “walls” have fallen away! (They were flat painted boards.) As this happens, the same robotic voice, sputtering, says “hy-hy-hypersleeeep dissactivated. Timmmmmme of sleep: eight-hu-hu-hudred years.” This reveals the bigger room the benches were in, with a track straight ahead. It’s a busted-looking hangar with overhanging pieces of metal and garbage, with dust everywhere. To the front there is a garage door. This is accomplished with some close-by physical ruins, but also screens to either side of the benches.

The attraction vehicles are trackless, allowing them to move forward or to the sides. There are three vehicles of them in each loaded group. They are benches- one row of six people each. These three vehicles stick together through the entire ride.

The guests hear sounds coming from a pile of junk to the right, and some of the junk sperates revealing a Wall-E audio-animatronic: “ohh?” He rolls forward about a foot, watching the guests. In the process he hits a button on the floor that opens the garage door. With the sound of the door, he gasps and zips backward into the junk.

FAt1TuAiSgkBehtSjXYdpDkg3w1_u2_RQvzzcKg7oyvgAtIrNaLHLP7oqdO3KweTn5r_pqZnifKOFOCkRoh6nvV8Cvhr462zNcVUdYQP6CaiJv02EmEnylEGBC_YEfT9bcp3tnhi

The cars move forward into the next room. Once into the that room, the benches separate and line up facing and moving sideways, so now there’s one row of 18 guests. Move past a screen that curves above and under them, showing of a vista of the ruined metropolitan area. In the distance, a rocket is seen landing.

Moving into the next area, the three benches wrap around audio-animatronics of Eve and Wall-E, as they go through the lighter routine as seen in the film. The rest of the area is dark, to highlight the “flame’s” light. However, if guests look closely, they can see detail from Wall-E’s truck in the background.

iDYYf2f8ftXytAit9pFB3LNBHBgVidXjvM4FXCtaWI1PYKacFXQzOXKpkbPB_JQWG7tZf3m9JBkxLqtfSPqml4IaAhxlh4dR1NYzxIFsQv-TJmljutTtIcM1Kb0YEHEVpEWJabmz

As the vehicles leave, they can hear Eve’s scanner discovering the plant, and Wall-E’s “Eeeeeva!”

In the next room, the benches pass by Wall-E sitting with Eve on the top of his truck. This room is entirely screens, like the panoramic view earlier. It’s raining when the guests enter the room, but it stops and Wall-E puts his umbrella away before seeing, along with the guests, a rocket similar to the first land in the background.

While the next room is still dark, the benches rearrange themselves so they are in rows, as in the beginning. This room is entirely screens as well, Except on the left side, which is the side of a rocket ship. The Benches are facing “up” towards the sky. They stop in this room completely for a few moments. Wall-E is seen climbing the rocket to the front and left of the benches, but the rocket takes off (wind blows past the guests), and enters space. Doors open in the rocket left of the benches, and the benches leave one at a time into the next scene so they can line up in a row again.

JEOaWffHbLKXT8FjI_DtfVsSPySLBpiXV8Lnl1I0537xdHU4P7w_FOL4Ox1ZzzpzCDJn814yxqiRIMAbtIbH3R0s4w2dv3eSUvjXwmNVrXo5ELxDME2EnSyDJyd97G1fS6OD5bdk

The next scene is super short, and just has a screen showing Eve, and Wall-E being able to get inside the door. He shouts “Eva!” and tries to get her out, in the process hitting a button that opens the doors to the other side of the scene, that the benches pop out of.

The next scene has a starfield a la Peter Pan’s Flight, but with projections to show galaxies and other things in space. The benches start moving forward again, each taking a slightly different bath around the stars and through and around different props and star-covered columns and curtains. There are shooting stars, nebulas, and distant galaxies. Tricks with mirrors make space look to go on forever (similar to the door scene in DCA’s Monsters Inc attraction). The cars round a corner and start going sideways again, this time entering another large spacecraft. They are aboard the Axiom.

Upon boarding the Axiom, an animatronic M-O sees the riders, scans them, senses a "Foreign Contaminant", and and tries to clean them off as they drive by.. In the background, Wall-E is seen wheeling EVE away. The trackless vehicles then leave the room and enter the main hall of the Axiom. The vehicle moves sideways slowly, so riders can get a view of the vibrant screens and environment to the side.

Nc6UDu44wu72vQy5uYXkAF4MjirBJbEH0EoJZoiqH6RFX4F3wFoQgpPjF4TxMjHimzMTY2XUMcPgggAtsGw14QXOkpLKg9PpMlsrpIj7sa9P-TrT8l7GErI04R9f50Ecr-D_E43u

The sets involve large ads, shiny lights, and a couple of animatronic humans (who have simple movement, and projected faces similar to the Seven Drawfs Mine Train animatronic facial expressions). Screens are used to add depth beyond the sets, with humans sitting in their hover chairs in the background.

After this scene, the vehicles enter the robot maintenance room.

YclIdojV5d4ua9G0FojW_tFXpYLJkC1uMLy_gxKxl6DRuIRa4HVtDT4e4aT89ctkAwKzXqrBEKEpUBtvZ73P08VTL7aXNzPyMRdxnHFwvCLP5JeanF-37VWJTKMJ_GlDe3h3hY4S

Animatronics of several malfunctioning robots appear on each side, until reaching a dome screen at the end of the hall. On there, the scene plays out where Wall-E accidentally fires Eve's rocket, blowing up the end of the hall. Then plays a simulated screen segment, as the robots escape with Wall-E and Eve, with the ride vehicle frantically trailing behind.

xXyYdj07NdwU5F4Y0DPF_2GhPn-p2tcgrVE3McAmVynmkn3qqv8lfyLjljKPphgeYoRjKZncMRCXNmrYpm2vV1Ylud2TkCEPoB_OaQQJffOvRh8z2sCgfGhcJlRUg8uAUgKQ30SN

The vehicle whisks away with the robots, until it comes to a stop as guard robots appear in the way, as a voice says "Caution: Rogue Robots". Wall-E and Eve manage to escape, as she blasts a hole in the ceiling and flies upwards to the captain's room. However, the guard robots blockade the ride vehicle. The screen segment ends, as the ride vehicles transition back to the main Axiom hall.

Back in the main Axiom, all of the ads show "Caution: Rogue Robots," before switching to the video feed to the captain from the climax of the movie. He explains "Psssst! Hey! Hey! This is the Captain I'm locked in my room. Eve, Wall-E, bring the plant to the Lido Deck. I'll have activated the holo-detector. Now hurry! Auto's probably going to cut me off --" The feed begins cutting in and out, and when it cuts back in, it shows the Captain standing up and grabbing Auto. The ride vehicles then lead to the final screen dome segment.

The final dome segment is the climax of the movie, with the ship beginning to tilt over. The ride vehicles feel as if they're sliding down the deck, with the people of the Axiom sliding over alongside them. A part of the ship is about to break off and crash into riders, when the ship levels again and the screens across the Axiom display a feed of the Captain turning AUTO to manual and steering the ship. Then, in the distance, the plant is placed into the Lido Deck and the ship immediately begins a countdown for its return to Earth. The Axiom blasts off, and the vehicles vibrate rather intensely as it does. The vehicles exit the screen segment, and move towards a hangar door that opens, to reveal Earth outside.

Immediately as the ride vehicles exit, EVE is seen kissing a newly repaired Wall-E beside his home as she does at the end of the movie, with the rest of the robots from the film celebrating. The ride vehicle moves past them to see the Captain is seen with some other humans, who are planting new crops as they return to Earth. The vehicle moves past them, an instrumental version of "We're Going Down" from the credits of the film plays triumphantly, and the vehicles move to unload.

Post-show
After unloading, the guests walk down a clean hallway, with screens showing scenes of rebuilding earth. At the end of this hallway is a room that has a small gift shop, selling Wall-E and Tomorrowland goods. These include, of course, BnL products, robotic toys, and models of the Axiom.

Other
  • As part of the publicity for this new attraction, for at least the first year of the attraction, a walk around Wall-E will be brought to Tomorrowland, working much the same way as PUSH the talking trashcan. He will wander the land to greet guests.
  • The showbuilding is hidden from the Fantasyland side by dirt covering the sides, with bushes, small trees, and grass planted there to create "hills". From the Tomorrowland side, the building is not covered in foliage, but is painted with three stripes near the top in the Tomorrowland colors, with planters with palm trees, both real and the metal ones found elsewhere in the land, and bushes.

Adventure to Paradise Falls

Introduction
Welcome to Paradise Falls - A Land Lost in Time. Take flight with Carl, Russell, and others from the 2009 Disney/Pixar film, Up, as you soar on a whimsical adventure to the top of Paradise Falls, and encounter some rollicking thrills and excitement along the way. This E-ticket attraction will be the first "true" E-ticket at the Magic Kingdom since Splash Mountain, and will serve as the icon of Adventureland, nestled as the weenie in the expansion plot south west of Pirates of the Caribbean, for decades to come.

Approach to Adventureland
The "adventure" begins as soon as you enter the Magic Kingdom under the Main Street Station. Lining the walls are posters of various attractions in the park, and added to this list will be a poster for Adventureland's newest E-ticket
Disney_RetroUpPosters09.jpg

While in Adventureland from the Main Street side, a subtle glimpses at a 137 ft tall mountainous water fall can be seen as you turn the corner from Main Street, giving guests a sense of adventure to discover what that really is. From the Frontierland side, there is a noticeable waterfall perched high into the Magic Kingdom skyline, echoing from the land ahead. Adding to the magic Kingdom mountain range, Paradise Falls hopes to bring the best of a Disney style dark ride with an exhilarating and unique twist specific for this attraction.

In addition, to add to the immersion in the Up story and the Paradise Falls attraction, the MyDisneyExperience app will have an added element called "My Adventure Book"

il_fullxfull.559601793_fapv.jpg

With this new feature, as a tie in to the brand new Paradise Falls attraction, guests can chronicle their vacations using old fashioned style designs from PhotoPass+ and create their own Adventure Book of their vacation, which they can have shipped to their house, fully authentic just like the page styles in the film (for a small Disney fee of course)

There will be many interactive MyMagic+ and NextGen Enhancements on this attraction, as its inception in 2023 will mark the 10 year roll-out anniversary of MyMagic+ and the Phase 2 process of further integration into your vacation experience.

Paradise Falls Landscape Description
The massive 137 ft tall waterfall off deep in the Adventureland wilderness will be visible as guests approach the entrance to the attraction. Surrounding by rich foliage and tropical landscapes, the large waterfall, also using forced perspective, is a carbon copy of Paradise Falls from the film. Upon approaching you can see the rush of the water flow down the side of the mountain and into the falls below. Arriving at the entrance to the attraction, you'll notice even the ambiance surrounding background music has changed to the Michael Giacchino soundtrack from Up - and you know your adventure is out there!

Attraction Location
2016-05-28_10-17-07_zps7q3k3tvz.jpg

Located in-between a gap between Pirates of the Caribbean to the right and the sloped entrance to Jungle Cruise on the left, you will enter through Carl and Ellie's South America building and traverse (actually cardinally south in the park) over the train tracks (which will go through a newly designed tunnel underneath the walkway, and to the expansion pad beyond the railroad.

Entrance and Queue

2016-05-28_10-18-38_zpsdbaxj9px.jpg

Upon reaching the attraction, you see a balloon stand and a building which says South America on it, a replica of the one that Carl and Ellie owned and worked in during the film. Off to the side, there is even a Meet and Greet location for the characters from Up (check your times guide for more information)

5a302123558f70c7f2bf71850901b5a4.jpg

The Stand-By entrance can be seen above along with the Fastpass+ entrance. For this attraction however, guests are encouraged to use the Stand-By line to get the full effect of the queue storyline. The Fastpass+ edition is a brief interpretation of the longer montage.

Guests enter the South America showcase and see illustrations, newspaper articles, and more of Carl and Ellie's favorite explorer Charles Muntz. You walk past Carl and Ellie's desks and see pictures of their marriage on the walls and a picture of young Ellie with goggles placed in a circular frame on Carl's desk. You also can spot the grape soda as well, in addition to Ellie's Adventure Book nestled in the corner and a letter from Carl, showing their love for each other.
2016-05-28_10-15-55_zpslheax1oz.jpg

The unique aspect of this queue is that while indoors (and overpassing the Walt Disney World Railroad) to the expansion plot beyond the brim, you feel as if you're outdoors and in the queue you progress with Carl and Ellie in age.

The "Married Life" soundtrack begins to play and in this continuously progressing queue. You follow Carl and Ellie on their adventures throughout their life as you trek up with them to the top of the (Bug's Life) hill for a picnic. AAs of the two of them in their middle aged physiques are positioned on the picnic blanket looking up into the ever changing cloud sky and conversing with each other.
18562182_Ej31e.png

As you walk back down other side of the hill you reach the front-yard of their colorful house, and see them washing the same window of the house. This time they appear older. You traverse inside the house can see them now dusting off the interior when you see the AA Carl look at the large parting of South America and their house on Paradise Falls and as you pass by you audibly hear him say he's going to take Ellie to Paradise Falls.

Sadly the next environment you walk into is the exterior of Carl and Ellie's house at night, with Carl holding a single blue balloon and looking out from his porch before making a turn inside.

While the queue gets quiet and dim for a brief time, the levity of the situation is quickly brought into fold as you meet Russell around the corner. Russell introduces himself and says he's going to go get his Assisting the Elderly Badge and wanted to know if you all wanted to come along too. The AA figure of Russell will be representative of the Mr. Potato Head figure in Toy Story Midway Mania, however much more advanced where they can interactive and chat even more with guests as they stroll by. There will also be interactive Up games as well themed to the Wilderness Explorers as you pass by the Russell AA and back to Carl's house

You then reach the pre-show area of the attraction where you walk onto Carl and Ellie's porch and listen to Russell

"Well I gotta help you out somehow" says Russell much to Carl's dismay and chagrin as he sees construction managers talking to people off in the distance from Shady Oaks Retirement Village.

Pre-Show and Hydraulator Technology

You then enter the living room space where Carl and Ellie used to spend their time and see that Carl has set up a contraction on the window sill with ropes and strings coming out of the fireplace. Music swells and suddenly the floor begins to shake as if an earthquake is happening, then you see out the windows the rising skyscrapers, the approaching clouds, and the silhouettes and shadows of thousands of balloons floating atop the house, lifting it into the air.

"So long boys! I'll send you a postcard from Paradise Falls" you can hear Carl yell from the back of the house.

As you stand around the house, you are actually moving at a slow distance upwards towards the 2nd floor of the building. However, for the illusion, you are on a trip towards South America. The 4 minute Pre-Show scene takes you through the clouds, as you gaze around at the detail of the living room and the authenticity from the film. Then out the porch front door window you see Russell waving his hands sporadically and Carl.

In the hallway you can hear the conversation between Russell and Carl

Russell "Mr. Fredrickson, please let me in"
Carl "No....ok fine, you can come in"
Russell: "Mr. Fredrickson, I only wanted an assisting the elderly badge, I didn't know I'd need to assist all these people too. But they are my friends and they have to come.
Carl: No.
Russell: Please??
Carl "Ugh...fine, but they aren't traveling in our house"
Russell: "Oh time for me to use my senior wilderness basket weaving badge!"
Carl "Basket, what?"
Russell "I'll do it Mr. Fredrickson!"

(The Next Gen technology will take voice acting tools from Monsters Inc Laugh Floor and utilize them to change the dialogue of this scene each time to fit each audience.)

You then race into clouds and a storm outside as you feel the rumbling of the house heading through the clouds, thunder and lightning outside, and you approach a rocky surface and make an abrupt landing.

You walk back out the front door and have arrived at the opposite side of Paradise Falls where the attraction begins.

Ride Vehicles

You approach the ride vehicles which are baskets tethered to the bottom of Carl and Ellie's house being supported by the balloons. The baskets seat 12 guests (3 rows of 4).

The attraction is designed using a combination of roller coaster track (above and below) along with hydraulic lifts that push your vehicles from one location to the next seamlessly without you even realize due to the projection screens hiding the technology. Throughout the indoor attraction, you are immersed 360 with the world of Up on the journey to Paradise Falls, providing one of the most visceral attractions Disney has ever invented with a mix of dark ride, family style indoor roller coaster components, all in a virtual reality environment, complete as well with physical sets and Audio-Animatronics.

Attraction Ride-Through
Boarding your baskets you are whisked into the jungles of South America for a slow moving journey above the trees.

Scene 1 - Meeting Kevin
From down below Russell exclaims: "Hey Mr. Fredrickson look a bird!"
"That's nice Russell" Carl responds.

Suddenly the House begins to descend into the trees as if air is being let out of the balloons and you soar through the trees towards the ground.

"Hey stop that!" Carl yells up to the roof as you a exotic tropical bird poking holes in the balloons above. You then see the AA bird standing next to Russell on the ground as Russell says that the bird likes chocolate.

"Ugh..more nonsense Ellie" Carl sighs to himself.
"I'm going to name him Kevin" Russell declares.

Scene 2 - Dug
Up+Wallpaper-15.jpg

From there you exit the jungle and enter a rocky portion of the mountain, almost about halfway to Carl's destination on top of the Falls. You then meet Dug, an AA talking Labrador Retriever who introduces himself to everyone.

Dug: "Hi there, my master says I need to take this bird as my prisoner"

Carl: "I am not your master"
Dug: "Oh yes I know, my master is smart and -- *squirrel* ---
Russell: "Can we keep him??"
Carl: "No"

Russell: "But it's a talking dog!!"

Then out of the right side, a large floating blimp that says the Spirit of Adventure on it, ascends from below the cliffs. It is piloted by Charles Muntz and several other talking dogs aboard the blimp.

Scene 3 - Charles Muntz
While Carl thinks that he's finally met one of his childhood icons, he soon discovers that Charles Muntz is after Kevin, the exotic bird he has been searching for his whole life. Airplanes piloted by the other talking dogs lead by Alpha, charge the house and poke holes in the balloons.

Scene 4 - Dinner with Charles
tumblr_n3oohw91D11tqs69bo1_500.gif

You view the interior of the blimp as the house is attached to the side of the blimp and you see the dogs, Charles, Carl, and Russell eating dinner, with the dogs eating Russell's hot dog.

Charles explains that the bird he has been after for years might have reappeared, and Russell explains that it "looks like Kevin" This intrigues and simultaneously infuriates Charles when Carl denies every know of the bird. Charles sends his dogs to the plane and Carl and Russell have to escape back to the house.

Scene 5 - Airplane Battle
Up-Mondo-Poster-by-Kevin-Tong.jpg

The planes charge out of the side of the blimp as your basket and house sway out of the way to avoid contact.

One of the planes comes flying through and snaps the tethered string that is holding your basket to the house and, disconnecting from the house and attaching to roller coaster track, your vehicle swings down and gets picked up by by another airplane and you go soaring through the sky. You sway around a bend and see Carl and Ellie's house next to the massive Spirit of Adventure blimp as the plane your attached to goes in for another attack run

Before you reach the House however, Russell takes a leaf blower and balloons and distracts the pilot, sending you on an incline into the sky.

Scene 6 - The Confrontation
Still attached to one of the dog planes, you pass by Carl trying to fend off Charles Muntz from getting to Kevin.

Muntz: "Any last words Fredrickson? Come on spit it out!"

Carl spits out his teeth and escapes to the top of the blimp as you travel up with him with his house floating next to him, attached to the side.

Scene 7 - Spirit of Adventure
best-worst-pixar-films-488482.jpg

As you sail off to the top of the blimp you are released from the airplane and drop in a drop shaft down to the surface of the Spirit of Adventure. You see Carl trying to hold onto his house, Kevin shows up and Charles tries to capture the bird, but fails, as Kevin blows him away with the leaf blower.

With Dug in command of the blimp, and since he doesn't know how to drive it, the blimp begins to tilt and Carl loses a grip on the house. Your basket begins to fall off the side of the blimp as you pick up roller coaster track from below, and facing sideways, see Carl and Ellie's house fade into the clouds and disappear.

Russell "Wait we have to save the others!"
Dug "I will save them...because I love them"

As you drop 3 stories off the side of the blimp you are picked up by a tandem of Charles' dogs and tied to the bottom of the Spirit of Adventure. With Russell and Carl now piloting the blimp, you begin your journey back home. As the ride concludes, your basket sways to look back at Paradise Falls one last time.

You see a thick fog of clouds, which then dissolve to show Carl and Ellie's house perched up next to the Falls with the balloons swaying in the wind.

You proceed to the unloading dock which is themed to the Spirit of Adventure blimp.

Post-Show Walk-Through
You exit on the Spirit of Adventure blimp and walk through the halls of the ship and interact with Charles' talking dogs, Carl, and Russell as you fly home from South America. You see Carl give Russell the Ellie-Badge (the Grape Soda pin) for assisting the elderly. You notice Kevin (who's actually a girl) and her babies as you fly over the jungles of South America.

The post show concludes with technological projection mirrors which reflect back images of you and your significant other as Carl and Ellie, images that can be saved to Photopass+

Gift Shop - South America (It's like America....but South)

You then enter back into Carl and Ellie's South America building where you will enter the gift shop portion of the attraction with merchandise from Up.

This merchandise includes:
A Senior Wilderness Explorer Badge and outfit.
A Carl and Ellie Mailbox
The Ellie Badge Pin
Stuff Animal versions Kevin, Dug, Alpha, and Russell.
Carl's False Teeth
Assorted shirts and shorts

Conclusion
After exiting the attraction, you feel a sense of hope and adventure, and you still have that image of Carl and Ellie's house landed in their spot next to Paradise Falls.

Something that we have saved to the end of the attraction is that on top of Paradise Falls is Carl and Ellie's house. Upon first glace, due to the forced perspective of the Mountain and it not being within walking distance, the house may go unnoticed.

Every morning, as you're approaching the Magic Kingdom to begin your day on the boat, monorail, or simply sitting along the Seven Seas Lagoon enjoying the view, you might catch a glimpse as synthetic "balloons" rise up from Carl and Ellie's House upon Paradise Falls, creating a spectacular hidden moment you'll never forget, and a breathtaking view that adds to the picturesque Magic Kingdom skyline.

Mini Challenge Reviews

California Re-theming Mini Challenge
tumblr_n7zowkcrDg1s8mgkyo2_1280.jpg

@spacemt354 – I really, really enjoyed this Beach Boys re-theme of California Screamin’. I feel like it fits perfectly into the area and the theme park. The only thing I wish you had was more of a Beach Boys filled pre-show or queue, to really get the point across, but honestly that’s a serious nitpick. Overall, spectacular job!

@Angels and Disney's – I really enjoyed that you addressed the fact that Wooden coasters are pretty much inexistent to Disney Theme Park goer and how you added bunny hills to the ride instead of the launch, making the ride become longer. The only thing I wish you addressed was more of a backstory to the coaster, than just saying it was classic Boardwalk coaster. Maybe a boardwalk backstory in the queue or about the owner, something to really give full Disney storytelling immersion in this project. Overall, I did enjoy this re-theme.

@tcool123 – I think it was totally realistic and fun to turn this into a Christmas re-theme! I can totally see Disneyland Resort doing this. Though I did feel like adding Christmas SoCal tunes in Santa’s Sleigh on a giant wooden shaped track kind of clash in storytelling a bit. Overall, I liked your ideas, but I feel like all the ingredients in your idea clashed more then worked together for this re-theme.

@Poe Dameron - I thought it was extremely inventive to totally re-theme this attraction around a volcano and use Jimmy Buffet as a musical choice. Though, I do think a volcano is out of place in the Paradise Pier area. Overall, I liked how you turned the attraction into something totally different, but I wish you kept true to the California Pier area surrounding it.

@spacemt354 – I really enjoyed how you finally made Walt’s Futuristic City dream a reality in some way. Though, I really wish you described your icon more in this post, and described the city less. I’m assuming it’s going to look similar to the picture you posted, but a description would have been nice. Overall, I like the idea, and I wish I had more detail to fully understand where your coming from.

@kmbmw777 – I love this as a Park Icon! Adventureland really doesn’t have an “icon” and I feel like you fixed that with this attraction. Perfect island flair for Adventureland, great two rides in one complex. Overall, great work!

@RMichael21 – Thank you for addressing Disneyland Studios Paris’ icon issue! I feel like a classic theatre is nice, though I wish you made the theatre larger to stand up to the large buildings leading up to it force perspective wise. Overall, great idea, I just wish visually you made it flowed a bit more with the area.

@Angels and Disney's – I think it was wonderful that you finally brought the lost WESTCot concept to the Disneyland Resort. Great description, great choice in an icon, overall, spectacular job!

Though it was a creative idea to use Sanjay’s super team for the root of your attraction, it really sets me off that you put this in an India Pavillion at Epcot, honestly. Since the short takes place in the US in an Indian household, it’s really hard for me to see this in a pavilion themed to India. It’s a culture clash, in my opinion.

Nice location choice, facade, and queue!

The vehicle design was spectacular! I really like the creativity used with electromagnets, though it may be a little unrealistic. I would’ve loved to see a sketch on the vehicle design.

The summary of the ride was good! The one thing I didn’t enjoy about the opening scene was added dialogue, I feel like it wasn’t needed. Though I did love the transition from the opening scene to the large room! The track system was a nice touch! Temple scene transition was cool as well!
Marketplace and Café Lotus seemed like they’d fit wonderfully into the World Showcase!

Overall, I really enjoyed this attraction, it reminded me of Mystic Manor in a odd sort of way with it’s storytelling. The big issue I have with this concept is that the short takes place in the United States, with a clash of US pop culture and classic Indian Culture. I feel like it’s a little confusing in an Indian Pavilion location for that reason.

Ravenclaw House
M-O.jpg

Nice introduction, location, and ride vehicle choice!

The queue and pre-show really did act like a transition into the attraction from Tomorrowland. I feel like this really brought the theme and setting of the attraction and the identity of Tomorrowland closer together then I thought possible. Great job!

I’ll be honest the map felt like it conflicted with the text in this presentation. The queue is over in the Cast Member area, while the entrance area described is blocked off by scene 1 and scene 2. I’m honestly very confused how the queue is really accessible to guests.

The attraction was great! Loved the opening scene with Auto coming back to life, I’d love to see that effect! I felt like I would really enjoy this ride, great experience overall! The MyMagic+ ending was a nice touch!

Gift shop seemed nice, but inaccessible as well with the map provided.

Slytherin House
maxresdefault.jpg

First off, I’d love to say that this attraction has spectacular artwork! The building fits in with the other areas of Tomorrowland perfectly, and I feel like this is a wonderful, high capacity replacement for the speedway.

The queue was short, sweet and to the point. Seemed like a great Tomorrowland Transition piece! Well done!

When I first read the attraction, it seemed very Star Tours or Mission Space-like. I felt the message piece was great! I just wish you added a little dash of originality to this attraction for boarding. Though the hypersleep makes sense, this really seems extremely similar to Mission Space.

I love the effect of waking up and the walls leaving, though! Such a neat idea!

Introducing Wall-E and Eve was wonderful. It really brings these characters into the center of the attraction. The finale was wonderful as well.

Great Post-Show!

The “Other” part of your project really helped me understand the issue of the Fantasyland view of this attraction with your solution. Great addition!

Overall, wonderful work Slytherin, though I did feel the first half seemed to copy attractions already in Walt Disney World Resort.

Gryffindor House
055.JPG

Great introduction, spectacular artwork, the description of the attraction poster was a wonderful little touch that added to the presentation, in my opinion.

Loved the addition of the Adventure Book! The one thing I didn’t enjoy is that you said it could be shipping for a “small Disney fee”:p – There is no such thing as that :p:hilarious:

Timeline for 2023 is great and realistic, it’ll take a lot of time to get a great attraction like this together for Magic Kingdom, and I think it would realistically bring it all together for the best attraction it could be.

The design of the mountain landscape sounds spectacular! The map was easy to read and flowed well together. It also seems really plausible for the area you’re considering. The South America building fits perfectly with the rest of Adventureland. Nice work on that!

This is the best queue I think I’ve ever seen on the forums period. It really blends the detail and feelings of the first few minutes of up perfectly. I really have nothing else to say about this other then wonderful work, and everyone should read this queue!

Pre-Show was well done as well! So happy you brought some of the old Living Seas effect back! Nice touch!

Ride vehicles fit perfectly with the Pre-Show. Wonderful work on that!

-Slow Clap-

The attraction was absolutely spectacular. I loved everything about it! It all flows incredibly well… I seriously have nothing else to say, I just really enjoyed this! Great gift shop as well! Nice merchandise line up!

The conclusion with the balloon effect is amazing! Great job!

Wonderful work Gryffindor! Great Project!

Results coming this afternoon....

Welcome Houses to your Fourth Team Challenge in The House Cup!

Thanks to @IAmSuchAHufflepuff for coming up with this challenge!

For Years, DisneyQuest has been a staple at Disney Springs and the main "More" on for Walt Disney World's Water Park Fun & More option for Tickets. In recent years with the Downtown Disney to Disney Springs transition, this gamer's paradise has really become run down and has been need a desperate update.

For this challenge, in your Houses you will be re-designing DisneyQuest in any way you see fit to compliment the Disney Springs transition. You may do a massive refurb or completely start over using whatever you see fit as a "And More" option as a replacement for this mega arcade building.

Anything is fair game, just make sure it's plausible and compliments the new Disney Springs!

This challenge will be due Monday June 6th at 11:59 PM EST

Good Luck Houses! :D
