The Great Paper Napkin Watch

I believe you posted the following earlier on this thread:

If your wife really did throw her meal into the trash and storm off, promising never to return to WDW, then I apologize for misinterpreting this post, which I interpreted as being sarcastic. Sarcasm is defined as:
  1. harsh or bitter derision or irony.
  2. a sharply ironical taunt; sneering or cutting remark: a review full of sarcasms.
I was raised to believe sarcasm is disrespectful. If your earlier post was intended to be sarcastic, then it insulted people who appreciated Disney's customized napkins, including my children who really liked them. If your earlier post was not intended to be sarcastic, then I am sorry for having misinterpreted your post.

The use of irony introduces an element of humor which may make the criticism seem more polite and less aggressive. If you failed to see the humor in my comment, seriously, did you really believe my wife did that, then you need to lighten up. It is a good idea, if you're going to participate in an internet discussion forum, to develop thick skin.

I don't know. It's been a while since I've eaten there and they didn't have them when I did, but I assumed they had added them since they were so important to memory making.

I thought the napkins were part of the whole Georgia Pacific multi year sponsorship? They napkins at Disneyland, and California Adventure used to have Presented by Marti Gras on the backs of the napkins. They too have also gone generic. GP's sponsorship still has another 5 years on it. Maybe they are getting new napkins with a different theme?

You all can belittle it all day (my skin is thick), but I liked the old napkins. I liked that they were themed to locations and holidays sometimes.

I also liked that they worked well and were absorbent. These brown napkins really suck.

I also see the whole napkin issue as indicative of a company that is trying to find out how little they can offer up before people just stop coming to the parks.

Do you know why they are brown? They are recycled paper...think about it.
