To celebrate my weight loss, I'm having a formal, glamor type portrait made. (but very tasteful) The shoot went well, although we did have to keep chasing this duck away! It also started to sprinkle, but we were under a tree so didn't get wet.

It's going to be a Christmas surprise for my husband, so I've had to hide the gown, etc., and made sure that he wasn't likely to pop in for lunch. (We were in the park across the street from my house.) His main office is only 5 minutes away, but today he was at the one out at the beach.

A big (no pun intended) congrats! :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

If you don't mind me asking, how much have you lost?

When I was a teenager I pushed the scales @ 235 lbs. No kidding. During a visit with my MD when I was 15 he said something to me that changed my life:

"Andy, if you don't loose weight and keep going the way you are, you'll have a heart attack by the time you're 30."

I changed my tune real quick! And have kept most of the weight off since.

Congrats again! :sohappy:

This sounds like soo much fun! Congrats on the loss (I'm still working at it). I would love to see your hubby's face when he opens it on Christmas morning. What a great suprise!

I lost around 50 pounds, and have been at a desirable weight since the end of July, and hit my "official" goal about 4 weeks ago. However, my "official" goal was probably a little low for my age, as my face was starting to look a little gaunt, and I was having trouble finding pants and skirts (a have a couple of size 2s!; but most are "loosish" 6s) so I've let myself back off a couple of pounds. As long as my clothes don't get too tight, and I don't gain more than a couple of pounds back, I'll consider my loss permanent and sucessful.

Way to go! Unbelievable! Feels like you're on top of the world, huh? Just think: You've accomplished a feat that some can only dream of.

From one person who lost "excess" baggage to another - DO NOT let a slight regain of weight get to you. It may happen and it may not, but if it does don't allow it to get the best of you.

50 lbs = the average 5 year old child.

Arrrghhh! A cold front moved in during the night, and the temp is in the high 50s. That wouldn't be so bad, but my son went through a growth spurt over the weekend (I kid you not; we measured!) and grew almost 3 inches!!! Needless to say, the long pants that fit him during the last cold snap are now mid-shin!!! He's going to be shivering in the cold this morning wearing shorts; I'm going to be buying new pants.

Cold front moved through here as well. Haven't looked to see what the temp is yet . It's very cool though.

I'm off to get the kids ready for school and find some coffee. Have a great day everyone. :)

45 degrees here today and I'm loving it. This is probably my favorite time of the year--cool nights and warm days. Time to take the kids to school...

*yawns* *rubs eyes* Good morning-

I had this terrible nightmare that we were on our way to the World Series and then botched it all up in the 8th inning...

Well, everyone is off and running. The house is quiet, except for the wind. Its up to 20mph and expected to be around 40 mph later, at least it stopped raining

The sun has finally come out! The wind is blowing at 35 mph. There are branches all over the place.
Made a big pot of veggie soup...soup and sandwiches tonight for dinner so I can watch the game!

Good morning all! :sohappy:

It's a brisk 45 degrees here and my daughter left her jacket at school yesterday.

Have a great day!

(I was just looking at weather.com and noticed that some northern cities are a little warmer than here. Go figure.)

It should be in the 6o's all week here. Doesn't look like we are in for anymore rain. :sohappy:
Having trouble all day yesterday with the internet and now I see why:
There is a huge branch stuck on the wires (with the fork stuck on the telephone wire). That has to be the first one taken care of .:D

Almost time for princess #2 to catch the bus........

Well, the branches are all moved and no more trouble with the phone lines. :sohappy:

Almost time for lunch...any good ideas?
