I never have a problem with the birds and raspberries. Sometimes, when the berries are ripe, there will be ants on the berries. But I usually get to the berries first. I guess I'm just lucky.

I did blackberries and blueberries.. maybe I should try raspberries and see if they work.

That's the trick--get there first! Normally I would harvest my raspberries before breakfast every day. This year I slacked beyond belief, and watched catbirds, blue jays, and squirrels enjoy my berries

Looking at my planting schedule, on the 24h of July it will be at 60 days since planting. Within 20-30 days of that my first harvest should be lining up.

While I don’t have any bees taking residence in the bee box yet there were a fair amount in and among the flowers today,

I also added a length of old garden hose that I had cut up to use for tree stakes and left it to ward off rabbits. Rabbits aren't too bright and will see it as a snake...

Picked the last of the blueberries had a bumper crop this year must have picked 8 gallons, My 88 year old uncle came to the house and we went fishing caught enough Whiting for dinner and he caught a 4 1/2' bonnet head shark (through it back) gave him quit fight. Okra is loving this heat they have really started producing. Okra, tomatoes and chicken cooked together over rice --yum

Very cool.

We finally just had a lot more rain. It’s been fairly dry for a month. Everything continues to explode vegetable wise. The weeds too.

Looks ready to pick. All my eggplant that were in the garden died from bacterial wilt (first time that has ever happened) so I planted another in a pot with clean soil. Started producing eggplant went out this morning and half the leaves were gone and one eggplant was half eaten. Turned out to be a very large tomato horn worm was having a big meal. Needless to say it is now in tomato horn worm heaven. Wife just made a blueberry pie with the last blueberry pickings will be having a big slice with whip cream shortly
