The Garden Grill

We usually try to eat here at least once on every trip. The food is better than average and the characters seem to spend a good amount of time at your table. I highly recommend it...it never used to be hard to get an ADR, but ever since they added soarin to the building, i think it gave the restaurant more visibility, so it can get pretty busy. i recommend trying it at lunch time.

We really like this restaurant. We've always had above average service and great interaction with the characters. We have adr's for our upcoming August trip. I love that the restaurant rotaes. It really is one of our favorites!

We ate there for the first time in March and really liked it. We were also picked as the Gardening Family of the day so that added to the fun, but we have ADR's for our return trip in October because the kids really enjoyed it ;-)
The Characters were very friendly and stayed at the table for several minutes and gave us plenty of photo ops.

We just ate there 4th of July week. It was really good. The food was good, and all you can eat. The characters spent a lot of time at the tables. We try to eat there at least once each trip. It is one of our favorites.

They need to bring back breakfast at the Garden Grill.
That's when the Garden Grill was at its best.
Such a wonderful, peaceful, tasty breakfast with Disney characters.

Actually, come to think of it,
they need to find the stupid idiot who decided to discontinue breakfast at
the Garden Grill and beat the crap out of him (or her).
They should force that person to drink gallons of Beverly and eat meatloaf.

But I digress. Sorry.
The Garden Grill is a nice place. They've been messing with the menu in the last
few years but maybe they've got things back in place now.
EXCEPT FOR BREAKFAST !!

Enjoy.

We ate there on our last trip and we both enjoyed it. The food was good, except for the salad, which had some nasty rasberry vinagerete dressing. :hurl: The rest was good. It was an all you can eat platter of catfish, steak, green beans and a few other goodies.

Our server was a wiseguy, but very nice. I'm not very cultured when it comes to the proper silverware for eating. I'm used to having one fork that I use for everything. I was prepared to use the same fork for dessert and when he saw that, he asked "do you like to mix your flavors?" He must have thought I was a country bumpkin or something! :ROFLOL:

My fiance and I ate here last year, and it quickly became a must-eat-place for us. The food is pretty good and the characters are great. There were a couple of things i wasn't crazy about...
1 I am not a big fan of catfish. (yes I did try it)
2 I think the price (would you not be on the dining plan) was a little expensive.

To solve those problems, I just ask for no catfish and go w/ the dining plan!:animwink:

I can't wait to go there again.

Has anyone ever eaten at The Garden Grill at Epcot before? If so, please tell me what you thought about it.
Yes, we loved it! :slurp:
The dinner meal that we ate was served family style (everything on one platter).
Everyone had individual plates to put their food on.
The food quality was good & we got as much as we wanted.
The characters were very interactive & funny (especially Dale).
We saw Chip & Dale (of course), Farmer Mickey & Pluto.
The restaurant actually slowly revolves so that by the time you complete your meal, you will probably have made a full circle.
There is scenery you can view as you eat & revolve.
We will be eating there again in Sept.! :D

One of my favorite restaurants.

Character dining, and the Fried Catfish is YUMMY!!!

The restaurant revolves around the Living with the Land ride, so you see different scenes as you eat. The different scenes are: Tropical Rainforest, desert, America Prairie and the Farm and farm house scene.

It is a good restaurant to eat at while you are waiting to use your fastpass for Soarin'.

I've eaten there 2 times. Once on my honeymoon and then again in 2003. On our honeymoon we had a blast with the characters (guess we did the 2nd time too but it was different). In 2003 my sister and bil got re-hitched (renewed their wedding vows) for their 10th anniversary. It was great. The characters even got in on it. It was kind of a down home country type ceremony. Afterwards Chip kept kissing my sister to make my bil jealous! lol

The food is really good there too. I was also impressed with the fact that they let me take my son's stroller in since you aren't allowed to have it in the building. We asked when making our ADR because he couldn't sit up yet.

I say go for it!

We've been there twice (2001 & 2003).

The first time we really enjoyed it - the food was really good, the character inter-action was great, plus the novelty aspect of a restaurant which rotates (slowly).

2003 was completely different. The food was soooooo disappointing, so much so that we've never been back.

My husband and I tried it in May and had a great time.. It was our first Character Meal.. The food was excellent and as it was our anniversary, our server gave us a huge "congratualtions" cake.. That was wonderful.. The characters made it around to our table twice, and I even convinced my hubby to get his pic taken with Goofy.. That was a chore.. I enjoyed the fact that the restaurant turns, but it made me feel a little queasy.. I just had to be sure to look at my hubby or the table and not out into "Living with the Land".. I would say go for it.. Try it out..

We just ate there in April and loved it. The food was really good, and we had a ton of character interaction....I am sure it was just luck with our timing (I think we ate lunch around 11:30), but the characters spent more time with us there than any other character meal we have ever been to.

The last time I ate there it was for breakfast, but obviously that was a few years ago. I remember it being very good and there were characters a plenty. DH & I had done dinner there before, though I don't remember the food it had to have been good if we went back for second time.

We had lunch there (before the menu change) and thought that it was excellent. And as many people have stated already... the character interaction was really great. We too felt like we got more interaction at the Garden Grill than any other character meal. I wonder if it has to do with the layout of the restaurant, being that there is a very easy linear pattern for the characters to follow. And also, when they are at your table it truly feels like you are alone with them.

I love the food and atmosphere at the Garden Grill. The food is great, I love the potatoes and the beef brisket - and I don't usually do red meat. :slurp:

The character interaction is great - they spend time with everyone - even if it's a table of bigger kids (20+). I remember playing tic-tac-toe with Chip and Dale once :)
