The Frozen 'Initiative' ...

I could see Avatar going in Shanghai or even Hong Kong at some point considering the floating mountains were inspired by real mountains in China. Also this exists.

I highly doubt Disneyland will ever get it.

This article is pretty hilarious in the wake of Frozen's success

Even at the time it was called out as overreaching link bait. Integrity is lost in journalism.

Even our local paper ran stories lately about the regional beach town.. you know.. the type of town 95% of visitors go by renting a place for a week or weekend. So the paper runs the story titled
"Weekly rentals in Ocean City may be outlawed" - but the real story of course is Ocean City was considering banning short term rentals in some very specific neighborhoods that should normally be permanent residents, not rental units. But hey, let's run with the title making people thinking rentals would be banned for the whole city. Freakin @$%clowns

As the Spirit has mentioned, we're in soft slow season right now, with all of Florida and much of the south back to school, UK bank holiday seemingly over. Universal, for example really felt the effects Monday--team members mentioned crowds dropped dramatically, and Diagon Alley had to employ barkers to get foreign visitors (mostly who's left) to come inside the new land.

So with the crowds dying down, tonight seemed an ideal time to finally see those Frozen fireworks at DHS.

Big mistake. By 9:00 pm, Villains Tonight like crowd all the way down Hollywood Blvd. with most of the crowd from Fantasmic trying to find their way into the mess. Crowd control completely overwhelmed. At the same time, @PhotoDave219 tells me people line up 90 minutes early for the mini-parade.

Online haters to the contrary, I don't see much of a backlash against Frozen. I truly believe it is the #1 IP right now, surpassing even Potter. It's not going anywhere for a very long time.

I'll agree that the veiwing is a horrible mess on Hollywood buavard but the reality is the fireworks are actully better seen from echo lake particularly by 50's prime time or dinsoar gertie's.

Btw I don't know if its been mentioned elsewhere but apparently the frozen sing along show is getting fastpass+ as of September 2nd. They are being tight lipped as to whether or not it's moving into the idol theater however.

"We have great news to share today. At a press conference happening right now at Walt Disney Imagineering, Bob Iger and Tom Staggs just announced a long-term creative partnership with James Cameron’s Lightstorm Entertainment and Fox Filmed Entertainment to bring the fantasy world of AVATAR to life at Disney Parks. And it’ll all begin at Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort."

"James and his producing partner Jon Landau and their team at Lightstorm Entertainment will serve as creative consultants on the project and will work side-by-side with our Walt Disney Imagineers as we dream up experiences that will take our guests deep into worlds of AVATAR like never before. There are also two sequels to the record setting first film in the works, which will offer more fascinating stories, characters and locations to explore in the AVATAR universe. Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort is planned as the site of the first AVATAR-themed land with construction expected to begin by 2013.

When is the Cinderella and Aurora Meet and Greet complex opening in Fantasyland? Is Hyperion Wharf shaping up nicely? The Drive-In Dinner really is the hit of Cars Land isn't it? Don't you love interacting with PUSH?

You do know that an insider on here (not sure if it was wdw1974) has stated they tried to get the OLC to bite on avatar land for tokyo? So that could be why the phrasing was worded like that, even so to look that much into such a small comment is pushing it real far. Fact is there is no place for avatar at the DLR. Nor should there be.

This proves absolutely nothing.

Yeah,

Final UK Bank Holiday before Christmas/Boxing Day/New Year's Day is this coming Monday (25th), and I think that the school holidays finish around September 2nd, so there should be a drop in UK visitors after that...
