For me, the debate is whether Disney should just accept the status quo passively, or if they can try any number of strategies to reassemble all Marvel character rights every where for everything no exceptions. Owning a monopoly of those rights increases the value of their existing holdings exponentially.

Please leave the conspiratorial BS out of this thread. We're having too much fun....

Oh dear...

Just look through this entire thread. It doesn't look like anyone wants to debate that. Just forget it and join in the fun, like everyone else is doing.

Could Disney do this? Yes. No strategy is required. Just lots and lots of money. The Marvel rights are worth more now than ever before. Anyone who has acquired the rights to Marvel characters would be foolish to let them go. Disney won't be able to buy them back cheaply.

Disney would be foolish to fork out the money required to buy back Universal's theme park rights or the film rights owned by Fox and Sony. They can spend the money on more important things while continuing to receive a stead stream of income from other studios.

Consolidating the Marvel rights under Disney is a fanboi dream. Disney isn't interested. It's time to accept reality.

Yes, but there's secret negotiations between Carvel and Baskin Robbins to make it a recharging station.....

31 flavors of phone plugs. I like to recharge my phone in mint chip. mmmmmm.... mint chip....

Let's hope there are no Meet n Greets with Fudgie the Whale then....

Fudgie will be meeting in the Mascot Mansion. They are gutting the HM and changing it into an exciting meet and greet area.

This argument will almost certainly be disregarded by the OP.

True. But it won't change anything. Disney has no interest whatsoever in buying back the rights. It would take something major to change that. It's just not going to happen.

Monorails had distracted me from my other obsession. Have to keep this debate going too!

There's no debate, except in your mind(s)...

And by the way, the discussion in the other thread that inspired this humorous train wreck? It was about the Marvel movies. Nothing at all to do with yet another pet obsession.

Undeniable photographic evidence that Disney has started construction on a Marvel 5th gate. I was going to mark up the picture but it's so obvious I didn't need to.

And by all means keep at it! The world needs original thinkers too. I'm never iritated by your speculative posts. We can't all be marni and know everything already. Well I can't and I don't. The fun is in the discovery, which is a personal journey, each one of us finding out what he wants from WDW's history - and even reading his own thoughts into it too.

There are fans who are obsessed with paddlewheel steamboats named after Walt's wife and who waste their time writing lenghty essays about their restoration - which will happen when Disney builds a monorail to its Marvel Park. Never be ashamed. ;)
