The Enchanted Tiki Room is coming to the Magic Kingdom!

Its possible, but there is more speculation now that its going to be pushed back even further.

Thanks, I was thinking it might be because I have seen pictures from outside and it looks like they still have a lot of work to do, even the UNM sign is still up. I won't hold my breath at this moment.

Why they are hanging on to that sign I cant figure out, it needs to go already!! The thing is a joke at this point. Hopefully it will be coming down soon.

I'm sad to see UNM go, I know I'm the only one. I loved the pre-show and the new songs. It will be sad to see one more piece of the late great Phil Hartman disappear forever.

Maybe the sign is the last thing that will be changed before the show reopens.

When I walked past on Friday morning I heard power tools going from inside the construction walls. What I would have given to see what they were doing!

That doesn't really confirm anything, it merely says that the show "is already undergoing changes behind closed doors that will reshape the attraction into a version reminiscent of the original show", not that it will in fact be the original show. The problem with that statement is the use of the word "reminiscent". For all we know, it could be some entirely new show that is somewhat like the original with any number of variations. What it does actually confirm is that they are doing away with the Under New Management version, and that the title will now simply be "The Enchanted Tiki Room".

So far, most insiders have confirmed that it will be the same as the current, truncated version that Disneyland now has.

It will be the original show without the Offenbach number. I.E. what's in Disneyland.

I enjoy Tiki in all forms. I even liked the old attraction. Can't wait to see the original though! Hopefully this time it doesn't get pushed back.

Hey...We can all help life the UNM attraction sign up and place it on your car trailer so you can take it home :) ... lol

:sohappy:

Quick question, do you think it may have soft openings? I am on holiday from Uk and will be there until the 15th when I get home. I hope they have soft openings I have never been on the original so I wish I get the chance to :D

HOPE NOT...but they probably will :(

Unanswered question is: What magic will they perform in the queue? Will the entrance be move too?

It's been said a million times...but I wish they would move the Dole Whip stand and allow you to bring them into the theater. Disneyland does this and it makes the attraction extremely popular. I would love for that to be a new tradition for WDW.

Shut the front door!!!! They let you bring your dole whip with you into the show? That is so not fair. I didnt know that but interesting. But come to think of it, that probably wouldnt work well with the span of tourists here, it would be everywhere to put it nicely.

Very true. Which is similar to what Disneyland experienced. All they had to do though was add a couple of extra Cast Members to help run the show. As of now it only takes like 2 anyway. That is way below average for an attraction. Problem solved. More Dole Whips sell, more people enjoy the attraction. It's really a win/win.

Thinking about it the sign would probably be the most logical thing to to do last because it won't take as long as the rest of the project.

Also, the sign changing is also the way that disney signals that the project is jut about done and ready to open.

Well instead of cloning the experience from dlr, why not create a new one? There are many tropical treats that could be made and served, why not have dole whip something up using Coconut cream?

But then there would be 2 Dole stands too close together. But i'd welcome anything by Dole! :slurp:

Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room at Disneyland is "Presented by Dole".

The tagline "Walt Disney's..." appears in both written and spoken communication at Disneyland locations, and that will likely not make the jump to WDW since Walt died 5 years before the Magic Kingdom Park opened and none of it is literally Walt's like it is at Disneyland. But the Presented by Dole line could theoretically make the jump to the WDW show, and it would improve the experience greatly.

There's a Dole fruit stand in the pre-show lanai area and they serve up the full range of Dole pineapple juices, whips, sherbert, spears, etc. and you are not just allowed, but literally encouraged to bring the snacks into the theater and enjoy the show.

Above the tiki bar is a plasma screen TV showing the digitally remastered Dole pre-show movie that's been playing there since the 1960's. It's fabulously kitschy, and a big commercial for Dole, but it's a fun little treat that plays before the pre-show lanai gods and godesses begin to wake up and introduce themselves before the show.

And to take your Tiki Room experience home, Dole also offers up a free series of recipe cards, distributed in a little pineapple holder at the end of the juice bar shown above. There are a half dozen recipe cards to choose, from juice drinks to salads to entrees, each with a different Tiki God or Godess from the lanai pre-show shown on the front with the little story behind each god or godess.

The whole thing becomes a unique 20+ minute experience, and Dole is a big part of that. It's the details that put it over the top, and again, Dole is responsible for much of it. It would be great news to hear that Dole is also taking over sponsorship of the WDW show, and that they'll be bringing much of the same details and extras over from Disneyland.
