It was... fine, IMO. But I have low bar for supers movies, since I enjoy the genre. But it had noticeable deficiencies. I wouldn't have recommended anyone going to the theaters for it. Home video is the way to go.

Agreed. The Krypto reveal was great. I was super worried about it being kinda lame. But Gunn is so good with those type of characters I'm fully on board after this trailer. Cosmo was great, eagley, Groot, king shark...all really good. Cavil will be big shoes to fill but this first real look gives me a lot hope.
I think a little schtick is good for a Superman movie. He’s not Batman. He’s an uplifting paragon and I think some levity helps with that.…looks a little schtick…
But Gunn has delivered good comic material…
And maybe he…you know?…bothered to figure out what a fan would want to see?

The scene right after the Krypto reveal, where Superman shields that girl in slow motion is exactly what people want to see. Superman helping people.
Cavil wasn't a traditional Superman from a looks standpoint, and he was fantastic. I agree with you on the looks, but something clicked with me in this trailer and I'm all in now.
I thought cavil was perfect…the problem was the others they put on screen with him has a lot of misses
Cavil is my favorite Superman. I don't think this new guy will be better. But I'm hoping the overall movie will be better and that's most important. I do hope this guy really surprises me.
