Chili's
Thanks for the projects everyone!

Since we had some differing results, just like in Session 5, we are going to post our individual reviews of the projects, and then combine our results for the final rankings.

I think you really got the stylized, fantasy futuristic theme of Tomorrowland down, but there were some aspects of the presentation that kept it a step below being a top-tier project. First off, you had spent a large amount of the post talking about MCParradox's attraction and using his concept art, when you could have spent that time talking about your own project. Secondly, while the numbers and pricing seem to add up, it was a bit vague in some parts (especially the Tron aspect) where you spent $105 Million but also removed CoP. Nevertheless, Journey into the Unknown really caught me by surprised and was fantastic Probably the best original concept I saw in the projects, so good job with that! Overall, a solid concept but could have been better with a few adjustments.

Matt7187

You really did step out of the box on this one. Some things clicked, some for me just didn't unfortunately. Upon first read, I really like the design of the website and the detail that you put into each attraction. You definitely deserve props for putting in this much effort into a project. But, the details are actually where I have a problem. The first issue I have is with the overabundance of IPs. Yes, we are trying to be realistic but if we are really being realistic this project would never happen. So going with eclectic IPs in Tomorrowland would not be my first option. In addition, I feel like the IPs chosen just make the land a bigger mess. Tron, Star Wars, Wall-E, Buzz, Captain EO, Timekeeper, MC's ride, and Space Mountain? If Tomorrowland is a land built to look towards the future, how does Star Wars fit? "A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. The second point that really threw me was the Captain EO stuff with Kanye West. I don't really know what to say to that, other than I'm not a fan. I'm sorry. The rest of the rides are good, but I don't see a cohesive theme that brings them all together. They mostly just stick out like sore thumbs. Overall, once again the effort is noted and appreciated, but it just wasn't the cream of the crop for me.

RMichael21

Out of all the projects, this one felt like it had the most potential for me. Nevertheless, it was also the one that left me the most disappointed. There was no one ride or refurb that really impressed me. It didn't do much to alter the landscape of Tomorrowland and for most part, just changed lighting and effects, which didn't need changes in the first place because Tomorrowland is the coolest place to visit at night already. What Tomorrowland needs is cohesion and a better story. Something unique, not more of the same. Furthermore, "The Carousel of Progress is the only Walt Disney World attraction that Walt Disney himself created and worked on." I don't think that's actually true, considering the 1964 New York World's Fair also included It's a small world. And there are other WDW attractions that were in Disneyland first, that Walt definitely had a hand in, such as the Enchanted Tiki Room. Overall, the setup and design was great, but it just left a lot to be desired.

Wow, this project was great. You really put a lot of effort into this and your improvements were really interesting and exciting. I still haven't seen Tomorrowland (the movie) so thanks for giving away part of the plot:p But overall I thought you blended it in nicely, with a lot of unique concepts that really impressed me, like the hover rail and Galaxy flight. This one was probably your best project of the entire Creator Games, so congrats!

TheOriginalTiki

The backstory behind the land was spectacular. It feels like a really unique utopia that utilizes the Alien-Encounter company in a way I would have never predicted. The story is what really sells me. The nuance of the project is really good and impressed me. While the attractions themselves were decent, those were not really the selling points for me. Overall I think you did a good job with your project and really got creative. Well done!

DisneyPrincess1993

While the Poison Apple really limited your ability to reshape Tomorrowland, you did a solid job with what you had, even finishing under budget. With that said, my favorite addition was the add on to the carousel of progress, as that shows the historical relevance to the time period. My least favorite one was the Wall-E addition to the Peoplemover. The Peoplemover is great just because it's so simple and non-IP. I think you would have been better off leaving that alone or doing something else with the refurbishment. That being said, you showed strong diction in describing your attractions. I actually wish you used more of the budget to show off more of what you could do to the land. Overall, good concept.

Sam4D23's Ranking's and Reviews

My full reviews will be posted either later tonight, or after the show. It depends on whether or not we do a show. However, I will post my rankings. I would like to say as a general note that ranking the projects this week was very rough (a feeling I do not typically have), I was also generally dissapointed in the work that was turned in by everyone as it all could have been much better. I feel that in part that might have been due to the type of challenge, but I still expected better work from everyone.

Just a warning, my thoughts may be a bit different than some of the other judges ;) Great work everyone on this project which was not easy. Great concepts were created, and now its time for my reviews! ;) :D :p

@Matt7187

This was an interesting project, a lot of ups and downs for me. I'll take this bit by bit. First of all, you clearly put a lot of work and effort into it- The site turned out really nice and ended up as a great way to organize things, and the way you laid out the plans for the years was well thought out. Though, I have some problems with it. The main part of this challenge was to bring cohesiveness and a more clear theme to Tomorrowalnd, though I feel you just made it a bigger mess. Peoplemover, Star Wars, Tron, and Kanye :p just feels like a weird mix. A lot of it just didn't connect and there were some holes in the concepts. Also, this may be just an OCD thing of mine, but the presentation lacked continuity in that one page said "These planned additions will come in 2018" and the next said "These additions helped boost attendee and guests love them!". Overall, I mostly focused on the negative, but that might mostly be because I can't get the vision of a thread called "Why the heck is Kanye in Tomorrowland?!" by angry fans out of my head :p ;) I appreciate that you took some big risks, and while some payed off, a lot of others didn't.

@TheOriginalTiki

Very nice work! I personally really like the XS-Corp backstory you came up for this, it makes sense, is a good theme, and comes together well! The only thing though is that I'm not so sure an MK style park's lands should have such complex backstories, but should be more general. In addition, the fact that much of the land feels based off of XS and the fact that the large majority of guests won't even know about it makes me feel like it shouldn't be so complex. Anyway, you did a very nice job with the attractions there, in particular the MI and Speedway replacements, though the Buzz one just feels a little weird to me...I don't know how well such an adult take on a cartoon will work. All in all, you created a nice theme and followed/worked in requirements to make a nice New Tomorrowland, but for me the question is just if you did a little too much with your theme.

@RMichael21

This was a nice Tomorrowland refurb project. Something I'd love to see happen, though not as impressive as some of the other contestants'. The post is very well written, creating a very nice presentation for a forum post, which makes it interesting to read, so props for that! As far as the refurbishments go, they weren't quite as in-depth as I'd like for such a huge project- They are improvements but nothing more than the average refurbishment. I wish you went into more detail to explain how these improved, in particular with the TTA I'm still curious about what this new projection technology is and what it is used for- you didn't really tell me. The new replaced rides sound really nice though, enjoyed those concepts a lot, and I appreciate the inclusion of shops/eateries! Overall, this was a nice realistic refurbishment, though unfortunately nothing was too spectacular to captivate me, and in addition I couldn't really get a sense of a cohesive theme that you were supposed to create in this challenge.

@orlando678-

Great job orlando! I really like where you went with this refurbishment to create a futuristic yet friendly redesign, something that would fit well in Disney. I really enjoyed your concept for Journey into the Unknown. Something I would love to ride!- It's compelling and exciting. Though, the rest of the attractions didn't really pique my interest quite as much, they work well but nothing too exciting, perhaps with a little more detail I could get a better sense of the experience. Overall, nice job. While as a whole all of the attractions put together may not have been my favorite of all contestants (though certainly great ideas), I think you did a great job in making a more cohesive theme for the land, while keeping inside the limitations, which was a big part of the project. Nice work!

@tcool

This is a really cool project! The presentation style you used was nice, reminds me of what Tiki and I did in TSI, but I like how you took it a step further with the ABC news and the "developing story" aspect! Really fun! And then another site for the content was clever, but it took me a while to figure out how to get there :p And it is really clear you put a lot of work into this! There is a lot of detail in many areas (Though maybe too much in some ;) ). There's too much to talk about all of it in this post, but I didn't really come across many major problems. The Hall of Plus Ultra may have been my favorite attraction actually, I like its story. Overall, you did a great job creating a cohesive backstory for the land without taking it too far, and really elaborated on the concepts so I really feel like I got a sense of that land.

@DisneyPrincess1993

First of all, let me just say, you committed one of the biggest Disney Sins against a Disney nerd like me:
Instead of sending jokes in, people can create their own “creatures” in the queue line and will be similar to making your own car in Fast Track
Test Track! Test Track! Test Track! :p ;)

All kidding aside, about the project, I think the concept you went with for a theme and it felt pretty carried out throughout the post, but there are some areas, in particular the Wall-E Peoplemover, that I'm not too crazy about. For that ride I just don't think adding an IP would work at all. Though, I really liked how you included the Collector as a lesser-known but cool character and makes an interested attraction, and the CoP had some nice improvements. Overall, while presentation felt a bit lacking, some of the concepts you had were really nice, but the question is, will this be enough to keep your 4 CC challenge win streak going?

Great job everyone! We had some differing opinions, but using the same point system that we used to rank Session 5, we have final rankings for everyone:

1. @tcool
2. @TheOriginalTiki
3. @orlando678-
4. @DisneyPrincess1993
5T. @Matt7187/@RMichael21

For being the winner, @tcool will receive some sort of advantage in the upcoming CC challenge. And because @jdmdisney99 dropped out earlier, there will not be an elimination, all 6 of you will move on to session 8. And with that, the 7th session concludes!

Session 8: Wonders of Vacancy
Session Opening
First off, congratulations to the 6 of you who have made it this far. You all have overcome adversity, showcased your skills, survived big twists, and are deserving of the esteemed positions you're in.

The Final 6 Contestants Competing in this Session:

@RMichael21- 1 Extension, 1 CC Win, AoI Evil Hourglass
@DisneyPrincess1993- 1 Extension, 4 CC Wins
@Matt7187- 2 Extensions, 1 CC Win
@tcool- 1 Extension, 3 CC Wins
@orlando678- 1 Extension, 2 CC Wins
@TheOriginalTiki- 2 CC Wins

As with all of the Sessions in The Creator Games, each one offers a unique objective for the contestants. This Session will be no different.

We had said that your past designs will have an impact going forward, and in this Session, you will see the positive impact that your projects have had on Walt Disney World.

In addition, Session 8 is the last session to use any advantages. All contestants but @TheOriginalTiki have an extension to use in any challenge, although doing so will result in the loss of an advantage in Session 9 should you make it that far. Because @Matt7187 has two extensions, he is allowed to use one and still get the S9 advantage.
Lastly, @RMichael21 still has one AoI reward, the Evil Hourglass, which can be used in any CC challenge this session. There may or may not be multiple CC challenges however... ;)

Session 8: Wonders of Vacancy
Concept Creation Challenge 1

Welcome to Session 8! This challenge will be unique as there will be 2 Concept Creation Challenges in this Session! Out of the 6 of you, two will be eliminated in this epic round, leaving the final four to proceed onto Session 9.

For the first Concept Creation Challenges you will be working in teams. The premise is simple:

Due to all your new projects for Walt Disney World, the resort has become overcrowded, and new hotels need to be built. Your projects have been so successful, that Disney is tracking hundreds of thousands of new guests making their way to Orlando over the next few years. Your job is to design resorts for the guests to stay at. In order to help narrow down your guest characteristics, "guest research" has been done for you from surveys and Q/As by Disney marketers. Here are some results:

"My family and I love the New Tomorrowland expansion in the Magic Kingdom, and we are making a trip there this April! Our family of four really likes the monorail, especially the 5 year old, but the Magic Kingdom resorts are too expensive."

-Courtney from Boston

"Wow, that new raft ride in Animal Kingdom looks awesome! As a DVC member, my home resort is the Boardwalk, and I like it, but I want something closer to Animal Kingdom. Unfortunately, there's nothing of interest for my family and I in that area."

-Amanda, DVC Owner from Montana

"Now I don't have to travel across the Pacific to ride Journey to the Center of the Earth! Booking my WDW trip now. I would love to see Tokyo someday, and while I can't afford the flight for my family of 8, I might have the money to spend a little extra on a nice experience at WDW."

-Todd from Utah

As you can see there are a variety of different opinions. While it may be impossible to fit everyone's needs, knowing what your guests want is key to success. By the due date, you and your team will need to come up with 3 new resort proposals to fit the incoming guest needs.

The teams are decided based on Session 7 standings. The top two contestants, @tcool and @TheOriginalTiki, from Session 7 will receive a reward for their high finish. They will be the team leaders and will receive an immunity award for Concept Creation Challenge 1 (more below). In addition, for placing first, @tcool's team will get the added advantage of getting exclusive tips from Disney marketers and customer feedback quotes "clues" like above that the other team will not receive to help them throughout the week.

Based off of S7 Standings, the teams are:

@tcool
@orlando678-
@RMichael21

vs

@TheOriginalTiki
@DisneyPrincess1993
@Matt7187

Create your own team names throughout the week!

But with everything in these Games, there is a twist. Now to that immunity thing mentioned above. The immunity award can work in two ways.

If your team loses this challenge, as team leader you can either keep the MVP immunity for yourself, or if someone on your team contributed a lot, you can be selfless and pass the MVP immunity off to them.

If you keep it for yourself, your two teammates will enter a vote-out, and the other team of 3 will decide who stays and who goes. If you give up your immunity, you and the other teammate who did not receive the award will enter the vote-out. The advantage of the winning team will be getting to vote out a member of the losing team.

It may seem like an easy decision to keep the immunity, but who knows, your selflessness could go a long way in either the voter's decision, or the Games going forward. ;)

Challenge is due Wednesday June 17th at 7:00 PM EST. There are no restrictions. You don't have a lot of time, so get to work! :)

Session 8 Concept Creation Challenge - Wonders of Vacancy
Team Destination
(@tcool, @RMichael21 and @orlando678-)

Here at Team Destination, we were assigned to create three new wonderful hotels for the Walt Disney Resort. We brainstormed and came up with the ideas of Disney's Winter Peak Lodge, Disney's Scandinavian Resort and Disney's Empires Resort and Spa. Through different pieces of information provided by guests and surveys, we found the best location for each resort, and what the offerings that the resort should offered. Now we invite you to get comfortable and relax as we proudly present our resorts.

Thanks for the projects everyone! They were really well done and it was tough to choose, but so far we actually came to an agreement on the winner. Nevertheless, we are going to post individual reviews because we had different views on some of the smaller things that we wanted to give feedback on. Also because we are still waiting for a judge, so we don't want to post the final decision yet.

Here's my reviews:

Overall, a solid project guys. You used your guest information and tried to create projects that fit their needs. While some of your concepts clicked with me, and subsequently the guests, others felt a bit off. Starting off with some negatives, from the Scandinavian Resort (a value resort) an excerpt reads like this:

"A new street called Scandinavia Avenue will lead to this new resort. Also, a new river would be added so that boats can go to Epcot and the Hollywood Studios. In addition, the Epcot monorail line will be connected will be extended and connected with this resort."

It will have a monorail and boat transportation to Epcot and Hollywood Studios? How is it still a "value?" I don't think that's actually possible nor do I think you can feasibly add a new river to connect the resort to those two parks. I'm assuming if it's on the monorail, then it would be north of Epcot, so a river isn't feasible. It kinda took me out of it for the rest of the resort, which actually sounds very nice, it's just not a value resort.

The Ancient Empires resort was great! Not too much else to say about it, other than it was really good.

Lastly, for the Winter Peaks Resort, I really like how you tied it into Blizzard Beach. That was very well done. Though it's a moderate resort because you said the DAK resort area "lacks" moderate resorts, which isn't true because Disney's Coronado Springs resort is a moderate. You included the DVC which is great but your "exclusive" info was actually referring to a larger scale DVC resort, such as Saratoga Springs, with more DVC rooms. While 100 is great, it will not meet the demand of guests who want to stay in that area.

Although it may sound a bit nitpicky this was actually a really good project. However, those few mistakes could cost you in the end.

Very good project everyone. This actually went beyond the scope of detail that we were expecting for this project, so hats off to you all who did it on such short notice and with little time to spare. Let's see how you did.

Like the other team, I'm not so sure a resort that has monorail access can be considered a value resort. Though you did a good job explaining why, I just feel like it has to be at least a moderate level resort. That being said, the design is pretty cool and well illustrated with the visuals.

For your Ancient Empires resort, this was well done. I really like the easter eggs inside the resort and I think Todd will enjoy staying here. I'm a little skeptical about the location seeing as it would be difficult to add a skyway over to Epcot from there. But the execution of the resort was solid as a whole.

For the final resort, your Paradise Falls, I think this is a great idea. I really enjoy how you incorporated up, and you made it a DVC resort as well, which would make Amanda happy. It would be interesting spending so much money to live in a cave :p but I think the overall layout and design of this resort was great.

Overall, very nice presentation and project, but will the little mistakes hold you out from a win?

CC Challenge 1 @IDInstitute's Reviews:

Team Destination (@RMichael21, @orlando678-, @tcool):

Great job on this project guys! Great amounts of detail and insight, and the site looked great! Now to take a bit more in depth look at your hotels....

-The Scandinavian Resort was a very interesting concept. One of the biggest question marks was that you included a monorail extension, which a) is a lot of work and certainly will not be cheap, and b) pretty extensive for just a value resort. Anyways, I really like the theme and ideas you have for this, but I can't help but think that this will feel kind of cheesy. You described it to have pictures and the flag of the native country decorating the rooms, in a similar way to AoA hotel. But, you have to remember that AoA isn't what we would call highly themed. Basically I don't think that the rooms would turn out as nice of a representation of a cultural stay as we'd like.

-Next, the Ancient Empires Resort. I really liked this one, it's a unique concept and I can already feel how it will immerse guests into this and create an incredible place to spend a magical night in Disney World! There were a few areas I think you could have elaborated on more perhaps with a bit of research, for example a small description of some of the ancient techniques used at the spa. As reading this, the one place I was worried you guys would kind of neglect was the family friendly "Disney magic" aspect, but you proved me wrong. Including characters like Mulan and Hercules was a nice touch to add some fun and Disney character to the resort without ruining the theme. Nice job guys!

-Your third and final resort was the Winter Peaks Lodge Resort. When starting to read this, I thought it was a cool and unique idea that could have potential, but you kind of lost me. Simply because I was just confused about its story and design (and if you could explain in the discussion that would be helpful). The picture shows a nice, snowy lodge to go with the name, but then you say it has the same theme of Blizzard Beach where it is all melting? The description and picture/name kind of contradict each other which confused me a bit.

Overall, you did a very good job on these hotels. Disney's guests would love them just like us, not even a question! However, the real question is whether or not it will beat the other team....

Wonders of Disney Team (@DisneyPrincess1993, @TheOriginalTiki, @Matt7187):

As I started reading, out of the gate I was into this! I really liked how you introduced each hotel a bit before getting into it all, and you had a great site. Though on the other hand, I wasn't really a fan of how you presented the hotels as "This Persons's" Hotel. You were using the quotes as guest research to help get insight, not that they won a raffle giving them a custom hotel :p;) But, that's just an OCD nitpick, so now onto the full project, we'll talk about each hotel individually:

-The Project Tomorrow resort was very well done!! I honestly don't really have much negative to say about it, as it was designed with thought and intent, and the hotel will look amazing with its futuristic look! I suppose the only point of question, like with the other team's Scandinavian Resort, is that this sounds like it's described to be a bit more themed than a regular Value resort.

-I have to say, your Disney's Paradise Falls resort is very well written and nicely described, but I'm not a huge fan. Sure, it is very well themed and has very cool areas around the resort, no denying that, but I'm not big on the idea of a whole resort, deluxe no less, going to a singular IP. In a park, I can for sure see a themed land, but for some reason this feels too different to me and just too much. Also, the rooms I have a problem with. They are cool and unique being inside a cave, but my issue is that there aren't any windows. People love looking out windows and patios at their hotel room, not to mention I'd feel a bit claustrophobic :p

-I don't really have much to say about the 7 Wonders resort...Another great job and great concept! I can definitely see myself staying there.

Overall, these were some really nice hotels. You took into consideration what the people want, and made some great concepts! Though, were they stronger than Team Destination to give you a win?

Session 8: Wonders of Vacancy
CC Challenge 1 Results

Welcome, everyone! It was a tough decision this time around as both of the teams had such good ideas and hotel concepts. However, we needed to make a choice, and in the end we decided to go with Team Wonders of Disney as the winner of this CC Challenge. You will all receive one added CC win to your records!

This means that Team Destinations has to suffer the penalty of the loss... According to the rules of this session, @tcool has immunity, and @Matt7187, @TheOriginalTiki, and @DisneyPrincess1993 would vote between @RMichael21 and @orlando678- as their advantage.

However, the rules also stated that if the losing team leader were to give up his or her immunity, that person may be rewarded. @tcool has made the choice to pass off the MVP immunity power to @RMichael21, saving him from the vote out. And, @tcool did get a reward as his selflessness and good will in this Imagineering comp has also kept him safe and immune. Now, @orlando678-, don't fret. Just because the others are now safe, it doesn't mean you are going home automatically. You too will be given a second chance. So, to create a big twist out of a big twist, all 6 competitors will move on to the second CC challenge of Session 8, and now two will be eliminated from it.

Lastly, Team Wonders of Disney, your advantage won't go to waste as you will now receive an additional power/advantage in the 2nd CC challenge....and let me just say, use it wisely....

This spectacle has been quite the revealing and interesting conclusion to a challenge. Don't go anywhere, because this session is just getting started ;)

Session 8: Wonders of Vacancy
Concept Creation Challenge 2

That was an interesting challenge, and now it's back to individual play! This time, we are using the phrase "Wonders of Vacancy" in a whole new meaning!

For this challenge we are going to focus on the Wonders of Life Pavilion. Currently the Pavilion is home to special events, but we are going to change that. You all are going to bring the Pavilion back to glory with an all new design.

Your objective is to redesign the Pavilion to fit in the overall theme of Epcot's Future World. There are a few caveats however.
1) No IPs can be used in your designs (ex: No Inside-Out)
2) You must come up with an original design. You cannot bring any form of the old Wonders of Life Pavilion (Body Wars, Cranium Command, etc) back to life (pardon the pun :p)
3) Since you are doing something 'original' you don't have to keep the Human Body theme of the Pavilion. You can change it to whatever you want just as long as it wasn't done before in Epcot, or designed for Epcot, in the past.

Therefore, you all are designing something new for the Pavilion. This should be a fun and innovative project for you all! Because at the end, only four will move onto Session 9.

This is the last challenge to use any AoI rewards (The Evil Hourglass being the only one in play), as well as the last time to use an extension. Lastly, as you know, the Team Wonders of Disney members will receive some sort of advantage this challenge...read below for more details

Challenge is due Monday, June 22nd at 7PM EST. There are no limits in this challenge.

So, now for Team Wonders of Disney's advantage. We like to call it... "The Anonymous Saboteur!"
Basically, each of the three team members has a randomly assigned disadvantage to hurt another members project with. These are:
@TheOriginalTiki - You can make someone not able to change the layout of the building, meaning working with what's there now.
@DisneyPrincess1993 - You have the power of limiting someone's creativity...any one competitor of your choice must include a Body Wars esque simulator in the project. (Different concept than BW of course)
@Matt7187 - You can make someone not be able to present using a website or video.
To you three, you can use it on any of the three members without the power, OR one of your fellow teammates from last challenge. It will remain anonymous until reviews. Just PM us with your choice within 24 hours, and we'll let them know ;)

2 people will be eliminated....Good Luck!:)

Alright guys, the results of the Team Wonders of Disneh advantage are in....

1 of the team members did not show up to make a selection, the other two chose @RMichael21 to use their disadvantage apon. We kind of realize our mistake as we accidentally mentioned what the power each person was casting so you will know who gave it to you :p (sorry)
But, we will PM you, RM, what your disadvantages are, to try and keep re suspense up a little bit ;)

To all contestants and video viewers:

I would like to thank you all for your support and enthusiasm during The Creator Games. Being a judge was not only an honor for me, but an opportunity to see first hand the very bright and positive future this community is headed. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading everyone's projects and ideas, of meeting new people, and be able to create my own content that I hope you all enjoyed.

I have had the honor of being a judge and contestant many times before, but the past few weeks has truly been a great experience.

Unfortunately it is time that I must announce my departure effective at noon tomorrow. As many know I will not be in the country for the next three weeks which means that I will not be able to participate as a judge as I have in the past. Because of this I will no longer be an official judge of The Creator Games unless requested by the other two judges.

As far as I know the plan is to introduce guest judges, if that is followed through I wish to those judges the same excitement and enjoyment as I have had while being a judge and I wish the remaining contestants the best of luck in the coming challenges. You all have amazing talents and gifts and I believe that with continuous practice and development of those skills you will all be able to accomplish many things in the future. While only one may win, you all win because your skills and abilities will be strengthened. In short May the odds be in your favor!

As for the review shows TheOriginalTiki will take over on his channel. I am sure that he will do a fantastic job and I wish him the best of luck!

I would like to thank you all again and extend my thanks to everyone on this community for three amazing years of imagineering and friendship. I hope to see you all again during the Sorcerers Apprentice...and that I get to finally work with englanddg.

With Thanks and Warm Regards,
Sam

Just posting my intro for now...

TheOriginalTiki Proudly Presents: "The S.E.A. World Sciences and Technology Pavilion"

Future World as a concept has limitless potential, but sadly plenty of people agree that the area in its current state leaves something to be desired. Memories of long since extinct attractions such as Horizons and the original Journey Into Imagination linger as new fangled but not nearly as memorable experiences such as Soarin' and Mission Space are all the rage. It's time to get Future World back on track, and it's time to focus on a specific part of the concept of "future" that needs to come back to Epcot...That part is how the dreamers of yesteryear such as Jules Verne and Thomas Edison imagined the future to be.

Don't worry, this isn't a tie in to the "Tomorrowland" movie. With my replacement of Wonders of Life I have to tie in a lot of mythology from other Disney parks while bringing it full circle into what will perhaps be the crowned jewel of Future World when all is said and done. The S.E.A World Sciences and Technology Pavilion will be a throwback, "retro-future" view of what the future could have been through the minds of 20th century dreamers and innovators. With a distinct Steampunk astetic and a ton of call backs to other figures in the Disney park mythology, I aim to make this pavilion into a fitting, bold, and never before seen element of Future World that can liven up the entire area.

Exterior and General Layout

The exterior of the building will maintain its dome design, but painted in a copper tone to reflect the time period the attraction is set in. There is an additional show building added onto what's already there, but it will be disguised by a thick line of foliage and virtually invisible to the average guest.

There will be a large fountain outside the theater with a variety of different characters that one might recognize if they're fans of Disney attractions from overseas. Captain Nemo stands proudly over the rest, while below him stand Harrison Hightower with the Tiki god from Tokyo's Tower of Terror in hand along with Lord Henry Mystic and his faithful monkey companion Albert on his shoulder.

hqdefault.jpg

No, not THAT Monkey...

For those not in the know, The Society of Explorers and Adventurers aka "S.E.A" is a group of like-minded adventurous minds which has woven it's way into the backstory and mythology of Tokyo's Tower of Terror, Mystic Manor, and most recently in the new queue of Magic Kingdom's Big Thunder Mountain. These will be the characters tying the pavilion together.

Hanging above the building is a banner reading "S.E.A. Welcomes Dreamfinder". Dreamfinder's induction into S.E.A. will serve as the backstory of this pavilion and what clearly ties it to EPCOT. Above the banner is a stone sign reading "The S.E.A. World Sciences and Technology Pavilion" .

Once inside, guests are treated to a projected night sky under the dome. A lot of the demonstrations have made way for space for more elaborate attractions, but the pavilion still maintains a trade show sort of vibe. Steampunk is the word of the day when it comes to the designs on interior architecture, with exposed bronze gold spikes making up the structure holding up the dome.

There are four main parts of the pavilion. Right when you walk in the reservation desk for "Nemo's"; the pavilion's premier dining experience, is to your left while the theater for "The Magic of Technology" is to your right. All the old theater spaces have been removed, making for a brand new floor plan for the building.

Adventures Thru The Inner Body

This will be a D-Ticket omnimover dark ride that fuses together elements of "Adventures Thru Inner Space" and some concepts from Rolly Crump and Geoff Burke's "Life Health Pavilion" into an original attraction that serves as a spiritual successor and follow up to "Inner Space", using the same nameless professor character in the iconic role Paul Frees made famous. This time, samples of Frees' old narration will be mixed in with Corey Burton providing a brand new narration.

Instead of being zapped into an atom, this time guests will be injected into a blood vein and sent on a trip deep into the human body, from the heart to the brain. The queue will be located at the back end of the pavilion, with the show building extending out from the main exterior.

The set up for the queue will be remarkably similar to the original attraction, with guests watching Omnimovers travel into a large scientific device which then transitions into miniature Omnimovers being shot into a projected image on the wall. The Mighty Microscope will be replaced by a large medical needle. Omnimovers this time around will be fashioned to look like red blood cells and will lack the dome design and instead is an open air vehicle much like the Omnimovers of Buzz Lightyear.

The "cells" will travel out of the boarding area into the syringe part of the needle, while the point is faced towards a projected microscopic image of a blood vein on the wall. As guests travel down the ride's first hallway, they will be video taped, and their live images will appear in a realistic projection within the needle, an illusion made more convincing with dark lighting. Inside the physical needle will be miniature Omnimovers heading towards the blood vein in a callback to the classic Mighty Microscope effect.

This ride will incorporate the most projection technology out of any attraction Disney's ever attempted, while still having a few physical sets to complete the environment. Guests travel down a hallway surrounded by other projected blood cells before reaching the largest room of the attraction...the heart.

A loud beating will be heard throughout the entire room as guests see an elaborate AA of a human heart hanging above them suspended by blood vessels. Corey Burton as the narrator comes on. Much like the original attraction, the narration is meant to composed of the recorded thought waves of the professor the first time he went on this adventure. The professor ruminates about how spectacular it is seeing a live beating heart in person.

We enter a tunnel filled with fans, and bottom of our vehicles experience a floating sensation "Oh no!" the narrator chimes in. "The subject appears to be in a bout of intense coughing, this isn't part of the plan..."

We "float" up via a Hydrolator style effect through projected lungs.

"Once I get to the mouth, one thing's for sure...I cannot leave the body. I need to leave the body in a flow of blood, if I'm the only cell, I'll parish!"

We enter physical set of the mouth, complete with an AA tongue and a pair of teeth extending from above and beneath us.

"I have to head from the brain!" the narration says as we travel up another light incline. Sure enough, the final room in the body is infact the brain. We are in a circular dome room with the brain in the center, a set up similar to the Haunted Mansion's seance room with the Omnimovers traveling around the object of interest. The narration says we need to get into a blood vein and cause a disruption. This will lead to a nose bleed...a perfect way to eject ourselves from the body with a steady flow of blood.

And sure enough, that's what happens. After traveling down another hallway surrounded by projected blood cells, we come out of a nostril and travel out of the body through the nose. The stream of blood caused by the nose bleed then goes onto a metal table. Above us is the familiar sight of the eyeball looking down on us through the Mighty Microscope. We then travel back to the boarding area to the tune of "Miracles Through Blood Cells", a reworked "Miracles Through Molecules".

Around the World in 80 Days Simulator

Replacing "Body Wars" as the main simulator thrill ride of the pavilion will be "Around the World in 80 Days", a simulator which ties the famous Jules Verne novel in with the S.E.A mythology. The plot is that Harrison Hightower (curator of Tokyo's Tower of Terror) sought out famous inventor Professor Fogg to aid him on his travels collecting rare artifacts, specifically to design a flying machine which would shorten the time of the trip significantly for the already aging Hightower, who wanted to devote as much of the remainder of his life as he could to the study of the relics he'd been collecting. The ride will star none other than world famous actor and Martial Artist, Mr. Jack Chan!!

2986-27152.gif

Naaah, just kidding! Forget that version of "80 Days" entirely, because this is going to be a completely different take.

In the queue, we see relics from Hightower's collection stored in what looks like an old timey airport hanger. This is Hightower's storage room for the time being until he can complete his collection. The evil Tiki from ToT can be seen with trademark glowing green eyes. Traveling down a hallway, we see a collection of blueprints tacked to the walls for Professor Fogg's flying machine. We learn that Hightower is so fond of Fogg's invention that he's asked the professor to mass produce the flying machines, and is inviting us to go on a journey with him to some of the places he encountered in his 80 day world-wide trip collecting the relics.

There will be four main "flying machine" vehicles which will seat roughly 20 people a piece, and two main theaters. The design of the flying machines will be something like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang by way of Hayao Miyazaki.

imaginaryflyingmachines6.jpg

In the theater there will also be AAs of Hightower and Fogg in their own personal flying machine. Hightower is the more excitable out of the two, while Fogg is the more nervous, not knowing how well the mass produced flying machines were riding in will hold up. After a brief introduction and some banter by Hightower and Fogg, the simulator film begins.

We escape out of EPCOT and crash through Space Ship Earth before hitting a high breeze which makes us travel far up into the clouds. Gliding along, we eventually float back down and hit the Egyptian Pyramids where Hightower proudly proclaims a variety of his relic collection came from.

Winding around one of the larger pyramids, we duck down under the head of the Sphinx nearly breaking off its stone goatee. Fogg yelps as a large desert sandstorm heads our way. We get caught up in a cloud of dust as Hightower yells out in excitement.

Fogg is forced to control the flying machine, saying he can only hope our machines follow along as we make our way through the thick clouds of the sandstorm. Emmerging out of the dust, we are once again high above the clouds. Fogg breaths a sigh of relief only to scream out in terror as we get lower to the clouds and see the peak of a mountain poking up from them. Plummeting back down, we see we are face to face with Mount Everest. As an Easter egg, the ruins of Herka Zhong can be spotted about midway up the mountain.

Mount-Everest1370207712.jpg

Winding our way through the Himalayas, we eventually reach the Great Wall of China. Much to Fogg's dismay, we see that rival relic hunters are chasing us using mass produced flying machines that Hightower had ordered. "I told you this technology could get into the wrong hands!" Fogg yells at Hightower.

greatwall-of-china.jpg

We get chased along the Great Wall until Fogg picks up a signal of an approaching hurricane, the perfect device to send us back to Florida. We head back up into the clouds and are caught up in a massive storm, where simulator effects go nuts along with 4D water sprays and simulated giant gusts of wind produced by in theater fans. Finally emerging from the storm, we arrive back in Future World, go around Spaceship Earth (where we see the hole we made is already in progress of being filled in) and back into the S.E.A exhibition hall.

The Magic of Science! Theater Show

This will be a C-Ticket theater show in place of The Making of Me in which Dreamfinder gets properly inducted into S.E.A. The show will feature a Carousel of Progress like message of the evolution of technology, as DreamFinder shows us. A large emphasis will be placed on the "magic" of computers and the internet age, and how the latest technology has allowed the imaginations of artists and dreamers all over the world to expand beyond what was ever thought possible beforehand.

The show is hosted by Lord Henry Mystic and Albert the Monkey from Mystic Manor, with Dreamfinder as a supporting character and a very small cameo from Figment who appears as one of the computer creations Dreamfinder talks about artists being able to dream up with the latest technology.

Nemo's (Dining Experience)
This will be an upscale dining experience onboard the Nautilus. A window looking out into an underwater cave is the main visual draw, with the iconic giant squid swimming by as an AA every 20 minutes or so. Occasionally an actor dressed as Nemo will come on and play from a reproduction of the famous organ.

Les-Mysteres-du-Nautilus-02.jpg

The menu is comprised of exotic sea food from a variety of different foreign locales and cultures. This restaraunt officially ties Nemo into S.E.A., after much speculation due to his large presence within Tokyo DisneySea.
