My DS is very good at keeping his composure. He has said the only times he has lost his composure is with some of these particular tour groups. The total lack of common decency, arrogance, lack of courteousness for others.
He has said that at some points the only way to get them to conform to policy is to demonstrate who is in charge and it isn't them. That and the threat of security escorting them out the turnstiles is normally the only thing that seems to get through. On a whole this is the wealthiest of the wealthy and apparently this is also how they act towards others in their own country too. Thinking I'm not going there.

They took over Laugh last year, I was annoyed. I'm one of the few that enjoy laugh and having them hijack the show wasn't fun, not fun at all. But they spend sooooo much money, they are not going anywhere.

Google translate is your friend. Type it in. Listen to the pronunciation. On the same note, after a woman bumped into one of my kids then obviously cursed at him in Spanish on one of our earliest trips I had a friend of mine teach me 2 sentences for future reference: Esto es America. Habla English. I like to put choice words that I can't say here on the end of the second sentence to add a little personalization for the recipient of my little Spanish forray.

Oh gosh I have had way to many run ins with those tour groups. Yes I complain to disney every tike to about them knocking my kids down now my kids and I stand our grounds with them. They learn real quick not to push, skip, or run over us.my husband run interface too. I refuse to allow them to ruin my family time. We pay money too. Now I will say this we go to uni too and they do not act like that there. Thsy are so much better behaved. The only time we had an issue was in line some tried to skip and the cm made them get in the back of line and tood them if they did it again they wouod be escorted out. So they do it cause disney allows it. So it will continue. Sad to say.

Just a quick FYI, 99% of the Brazilians language is not Spanish but is Portuguese, so if you are going to spout something to the tour groups make sure you learn the phrases in the correct language.

Don't panic too much! Our previous 2 trips in Sept before that we saw no groups, last Sept we saw some but not enough to cause any problems. Well ..... They're slightly annoying! It was just more noticeable as we never saw them before!

Absolutely. Those kids in yellow pay $4,698 in July, $4,996 in December each for their tour. Five thousand dollar per kid, for a Disney trip. These girls each get about the same spending money too. After all, their tour includes four whole days and several evenings for shopping, from malls to perfumeland to a shopping excursion to Miami. So $10,000 per girl.

That's an aspect of what we are dealing with here too. It is not just random 'enthusiastic' teenagers. This is about Brazil's and Argentina's upper class offloading their brats onto un unsuspecting world. And if their screaming and chanting and their intruding on your personal space and private enjoyment bothers you - well sucks to be you, peasant. Or worse, sucks to be you, diabo branco or gringo loco.
We are talking about Paris Hilton and friends here, Valley girls, not third world. (Or, rather, third world par excellence, of which the definition isn't poverty - Brazil is very rich - but gross income inequality, with all the accompanying entitlement and superiority mentality that brings about)

Having been to Brazil I can tell you that most of the US companies sell to Brazil. However, not the same brands. I never found Nabisco Nilla Wafers there while I did find other products from Nabisco. Things like Cocoa Cola, McDonolds and BurgerKing (yes, you can't escape them) are there and just like the US version. They also play what I consider a lot of American music (in English) for a country where few speak English. When I first went to Brazil I thought all the men were soccer stars (they do love soccer and car racing) and all the women were beach models. In truth they are normal people (with exceptions) just like you and I. They do not hate the USA and in fact have a mild affection for us. Lastly they are once again having a good time money wise as they have a growing middle class and like the US the same rising tide does not lift all boats the same.

I'll break this down as fast and easy as I can... but, I had read and read and read about tour groups on this forum and since my DM was booked in July, I said to myself... "Dan, honestly... how bad COULD it really be?"

Well... after checking in at the Poly, slamming our bags down, and changing we were out the door and right to MK! It was around 2PM so the Park was packed and we decided POTC would be the first stop. We get in line and all of a sudden a HUGE group appeared behind us and started banging on the walls, whistling, and chanting. This completely droned out the ambient music that fills the space and ultimately killed the atmosphere of the attraction. I was ed and it only got worse from there... flash, flash, flash, flash, flash.


I know they bring dollars with them but they bring no more than my family and other American guests.

I know, but they are still annoying. In all honesty, the chanting doesn't bother me so much. I guess I'm selfish and I just don't like all the space they take up. However, unless I were at home or some other familiar place, I would keep my voice down no matter where I was.

I saw on Oprah once that Brazil was the cosmetic surgery capital of the world. (Just thought I'd throw that in too.) LOL

this is also an issue of American culture now at it's softest it's ever been... everyone walks on eggshells, oh no I can't offend:

Foreigners (then I'll be a xenophobe)
Women (then I am a sexist)
Alternative Lifestyles (then I'll be a bigot)
Any other race (then I'll be a racist)

So we just toss everything out the window and let everything slide.
