Trip Report The countdown just hit zero - We’re in Disney right now!

Greetings fellow Disney lovers and welcome one and all to this happy place. As the title suggests I am in Florida right now, living the dream

Some of you will know me but for those of you who don't let's have a quick introduction as my 17 night trip has already started. Yes you read that right - 17 nights - whoooooo. Hoooooooo.


Me - Tracey - I absolutely love Disney, my house is covered in Disney - my first night in POR will see me spending 300 nights in my favourite place - I live in a bubble and the outside world frustrates me in terms of horrible, violent people but that's another story and not one for my trip report.


Chris - my husband, best friend and my rock. We've been married for 21 years and we still laugh and joke with each other. He never wanted to go to Disney but now his hooked - love me, love Disney!


We're in Florida from the UK for our 21st trip - I am fortunate to be able to afford this every year but I'm still jealous of all my American friends who can get cheap flights over regularly (and this who now live here) - this trip alone with overnight at a hotel before our flight, car parking, Disney, Kennedy and Universal tickets, car hire and hotel cost us in excess of £4000


It's a substantial amount of money but hey, the amount of memories we create we really don't mind and why we can afford it we will go......

Here we are last year.

This TR might be a little different from my last 3 - I’ve previously done daily updating every night which at times has seen me spending all day in the park and then writing till well beyond midnight. Those of you who have done TR’s will know the time they take (it’s certainly a commitment but we all do it to share our stories and our love of Disney so others can live through it all and help with Disney blues or countdowns to their own trips)

I’ve not had a holiday or break from work since March so I just need to chill!


That said since I’ve been here I’ve been writing every day (but not posted) - so our trip - so far - will be easy to post (as I’ll just copy and paste) and add photos of course!


After that though who knows as we’ll be into the Disney park part of our holiday (more about that shortly)

We’ll just see what happens and and I’ll update when I can for those of you who want to read it!

Wednesday 8th November

It was another beautiful sunny warm day and we were off to Epcot.

And just so you all know it was a bad hair day!

For some reason my hair just doesn’t play ball in Florida - a friend had been trying to teach me how to plait my fringe but no matter what I couldn’t master it - so it was going up (I just don’t like it!)


Anyhow........


There was one thing on my list today - Joy and sadness! (Bad hair day or not)

Last year we went to join the queue and it was taking so long we moved from the queue and said we would do it later and never did - so today we were going to get this photo and if my hair does by look better again on an Epcot day we might try again.

Tried a selfie (my new camera has a tilt screen so you can see what your taking) - really like the FP photo below - it just captures fun (what Disney is all about)

We headed to Nemo, no FP needed here as it was a walk on

Once off we changed the Nemo FP to living with the land and hopped over to Figment

We then headed to Mission space - now a while back (before they changed to spinning or non spinning). I rode and was pretty much on a bench for an hour afterwards trying to get over my experience - today I went with. This but just to do green - it actually wasn’t that bad but I would never do the spinning option again - EVER

You would have been more than welcome to crash here! I'll be at Epcot tomorrow night for some F&W and I'm going to the Christmas party on Friday. I'll be somewhere next Saturday (Nov. 18), just haven't decided where yet. I'm sure we can arrange for our paths to cross, even just briefly for a picture!

I just hope when I do get there I won’t be disappointed..... as I’m blaming all of you for the reason I want to go in the first place.

You won't be disappointed... trust me. I spent about an hour there yesterday just wandering the aisles. It's amazing!

That’s so very kind of you - I did think of you when they said they were moving us to a sister hotel. We’ve got ROL FP for tomorrow night so I think we’ll be having an early night and Friday we are in Universal but if our plans change I’ll be sure to let you know - still jealous you get to live the dream so often. Sat 18th we have HS FP early morning - afternoon and evening are currently clear just seeing what we might want to do again before we leave. I am sure we can sort something, like you say even for a quick hello and photo would be great.

I still haven’t given up hope of getting there! And glad you like the shirt and ears (I made the ears while I was counting down the days to this trip)
It kept me amused........

After Mission Space We strolled back to use our Spaceship earth FP - it was a 55 min wait - that to me is a busy park and the FP queue wasn’t that fast either but we did ride - we have a special place for this ride as it’s the first ever ride we did in Disney 21 Year’s ago.

I still don’t know how they fit all of it in - I’d love to see a film or model of how that all goes together.

And It was ice cream time but what to have? I wanted a brownie sundae so we were going to HS to get it and hopefully catch the Citizens of Hollywood

We took the friendship boat on our leisurely trip over. HS seemed quiet in comparison to Epcot

Ice cream found we sat in the sunshine - I’m ashamed to say though that I couldn’t finish all of this so Chris had to help me (but his was smaller In the first place) I must be slacking!

The Citizens of Hollywood were just coming out as we were finishing our ice creams so we went to watch - when we entered the park we had checked the times guide and the Citizens of Hollywood were not listed so we had been a little disappointed thinking Maybe Disney were no longer offering this entertainment - but I’m delighted to sa6 they are still there.

Next stop voyage of the Little mermaid - it was nice to take the weight off of our feet for a while and Chris may even have snoozed it must be his age but I guess we were there for me anyway. He was awake by the end! :roll eyes:

We decided to head out of the park to just spend an hour in the room before Illuminations and stumbled across Jack Diamond (one of the Citizens of Hollywood) doing magic tricks - he is amazing - you need to find him if you visit and haven’t seen him before.

My time back in the room was spent on that little update earlier

After our hour (ish) break we headed back out to Epcot for Illuminations.

We waited a while for a bus and had a private driver take us on empty bus back to Epcot - it was around 8pm so that might have had something to do with it.

Spaceship earth was a walk on - so we headed in and then headed to the world showcase to watch Illuminations (sorry no pictures as I wanted to just enjoy the moment). I play a Disney sound track at home and when this comes on it reminds me of being in Epcot on a warm evening - exactly like tonight - but in real life - do things get any better?

I really am in Disney living the dream - I’m so happy right now and will go to bed dreaming of the memories to come and most probably ice creams!

So happy you decided to post! I've had a rough day and this report was just what I needed! Hooray for BTMR! I love that ride. Sorry you didn't make it to Target, but as someone else mentioned, your wallet will thank you. I wondered around in there for about an hour today and my wallet was NOT happy with the results ! I am keeping my fingers crossed for you to meet up with @blgauger and @Doc Disney. You look so happy that I cannot help but be happy, too!

It’s what I dream of most of the year and the weather at the moment is beautiful here. There are plenty more ice creams to come I’m sure of that!

Thursday 9th November

We got a shock to the system today as the alarm woke us up - that’s not happened since the day we left the UK - but there’s no time to slack - we have things to do!

We had FP’s at Animal Kingdom for the afternoon so the morning was all ours (we’ve purposely kept a few mornings free in case we wanted to go to a water park etc). But once we were awake we made the decision to go to Magic Kingdom for a sneaky ride on BTMRR. Well where else am I going to go and it has been a whole day since I’ve been there.

Jungle Cruise was a 10 min wait so we hopped in line - it’s now the Jingle cruise for Xmas - I don’t care for this ride but have to do it once every trip - just because!

Anyhow there would be no more stops BTMRR was calling for me!
