Trip Report The countdown just hit zero - We’re in Disney right now!

Greetings fellow Disney lovers and welcome one and all to this happy place. As the title suggests I am in Florida right now, living the dream

Some of you will know me but for those of you who don't let's have a quick introduction as my 17 night trip has already started. Yes you read that right - 17 nights - whoooooo. Hoooooooo.

Me - Tracey - I absolutely love Disney, my house is covered in Disney - my first night in POR will see me spending 300 nights in my favourite place - I live in a bubble and the outside world frustrates me in terms of horrible, violent people but that's another story and not one for my trip report.

Chris - my husband, best friend and my rock. We've been married for 21 years and we still laugh and joke with each other. He never wanted to go to Disney but now his hooked - love me, love Disney!

We're in Florida from the UK for our 21st trip - I am fortunate to be able to afford this every year but I'm still jealous of all my American friends who can get cheap flights over regularly (and this who now live here) - this trip alone with overnight at a hotel before our flight, car parking, Disney, Kennedy and Universal tickets, car hire and hotel cost us in excess of £4000

It's a substantial amount of money but hey, the amount of memories we create we really don't mind and why we can afford it we will go......

Here we are last year.

This TR might be a little different from my last 3 - I’ve previously done daily updating every night which at times has seen me spending all day in the park and then writing till well beyond midnight. Those of you who have done TR’s will know the time they take (it’s certainly a commitment but we all do it to share our stories and our love of Disney so others can live through it all and help with Disney blues or countdowns to their own trips)

I’ve not had a holiday or break from work since March so I just need to chill!

That said since I’ve been here I’ve been writing every day (but not posted) - so our trip - so far - will be easy to post (as I’ll just copy and paste) and add photos of course!

After that though who knows as we’ll be into the Disney park part of our holiday (more about that shortly)

We’ll just see what happens and and I’ll update when I can for those of you who want to read it!

All aboard!

The trip to Kennedy looked great - I have never been able to convince my family to go so I enjoyed seeing all the pictures.

Been looking forward to this TR.:) Sorry to hear about the first day problems - but you're there now having a 'wonderful world of Disney time'. 17 nights too!!! I'll be following along thinking ahead to next year when we spend 3 whole weeks in my happy place too. :p:p:p with 21 day tickets:jawdrop:. Lovely to hear you have some time to go to other places before the enjoyment of Disney. Also what a way to spend your birthday. My son has his on HALLOWEEN so guess where we will be on 31st October next year? Another of ou party has a birthday early November so I think we'll be celerating that day too.
Weather in SW UK is pretty grim today so you TR is a good pickmeup. Have an ice cream for me too - expect to see you have the 1 a day this trip, and enjoy as many BTMRR rides as you can. AS I remember from previous TRs it may not be as many on Everest?:depressed:

I am following along. Enjoyed your photos and report from Kennedy Space Center. We always say we are going to visit and then can't seem to get ourselves to leave the Disney bubble. Some day when we have more time in Orlando, we will go. You are so lucky to be there 17 nights!!!

Yeah! Glad you are back at your happy place. Enjoyed the KSC pics. We have not been there in years and should probably correct that sometime. Have an ice cream or two for us!

What an awesome trip you have planned. Cannot wait to read more.
Thank you - we have a lot of adisney to pack in!

I am so happy for you that you are back home. Have a lovely time and thank you for keeping us updated. The weather in London is anything but nice as the moment so enjoy that Florida sunshine.:coldfeet:

I’m sure we’ll have fun and I have heard the weather isn’t good back home - it’s been very hot here today but I’m not complaining.

Thanks - we hadn’t been in a while but it was quite an enjoyable day (even for me!)

It’s funny I did wonder if you would be looking out for it!
Glad you have something booked - it’s nice to do more than the standard 14 nights as you feel like you get extra days at the end and the beginning (the beginning because everyone you are getting on the plane home with haven’t arrived and at the end as everyone you arrived with has gone home!)
I have been keeping up the ice cream and don’t you worry I have already started clocking up the BTMRR rides today :)

Following along!!

Thanks

Yea!!! Following!

Glad to have you onboard

Following along!! Have a wonderful time!!

Thanks and don’t worry we will.

I'm following along too! I'm looking forward to all of the ice cream and BTMR!!!

Thanks and they are coming!

Sooooo here's the real question... when are we finally meeting in real life? :p

SO happy that you're finally back home! Here's to a magical trip! :joyfull:

Thank you - I did think on our first night we might have had to call you for a room!
Not sure when you are around or when your next in a park - it would be great to say hello

Thank you - to be honest I am the same I want to spend as much time in a Disney as possible but given we added extra days but didn’t get a longer Disney pass it worked out for us this year.

Yeah! Glad you are back at your happy place. Enjoyed the KSC pics. We have not been there in years and should probably correct that sometime. Have an ice cream or two for us!

Thanks, and we did try to chill on our first day. I always refer to you when we run around too much. Glad you liked the Kennedy pictures and I am sure I can have an ice cream for you too - no worries!

Can’t wait to write a list of all the ice cream I need to cram into a four day trip! Soooo beyond happy you are back in your happy place. Just knowing how happy you are makes me smile like a fool!!!

Ah, thank you. Shame you are not here again. We thought of you yesterday when we drove to Universal and the day last year we took you and a Joe - but at least you have a trip planned to look forward to.

Monday 6th November

Today was our Universal day, we headed out just after 8am, it was foggy out but still warm.

We Parked in Kong (I had guessed Kong whilst on the I4). I can never work out why all these parks charge to park cars (well I do know why but I don’t think it’s necessary). They charge a fortune for park tickets so I think they should allow you to park - it happens in the UK too and I know that if they didn’t charge for parking somehow it would be on the park ticket but that’s just my thoughts.

We headed straight to Gringotts. I love how the ride is put together, very clever and it’s one of my favourites in Universal. But first a quick photo with Jaws

We had a little wander around taking a few photos on the way - we recently bought a new camera so we have been practicing (especially in dark places!)

We then headed to Mel’s dine in for lunch.

The milkshake was just delicious - probably because it was basically just like ice cream but I wasn’t complaining.

The queue for the Hogwarts express was 45 mins so we decided to walk over to Islands of adventure. First stop for me lemon ice - I love this and have to have at least 1 every year.

I ate my lemon ice in the sunshine while Chris headed onto the Hulk - this is his favourite ride So right then we were both very happy people :)

We went popped to Spider-Man

As we were walking out Chris got his Cinnabon - now we can get these in the UK but a Chris had said they don’t taste the same so this was something he was really looking forward to.
He only had half and the said he was saving the rest for breakfast (I think he just wanted to make it last longer!)

I had mentioned to Chris that I wanted to go to Target - I’ve heard so many people talk about it on here I wanted to go look! Funny how that could make it onto my list of things to see and do whilst in Florida... so Chris said let’s try to find it.

Unfortunately we didn’t make it - there was a traffic jam we joined the back of that looked like it wasn’t moving so we turned round and headed home.

We heard on the radio on the way back there had been quite a serious accident so we could have been there for a while - maybe one day I’ll get there. .... - I just hope when I do get there I won’t be disappointed..... as I’m blaming all of you for the reason I want to go in the first place.

Quick meal in the food court and an ice cream cookie sandwich (Sorry forgot to take a picture before I started eating it!) and we were headed back to the room.

I think our day at Universal was really good today - normally we get there early and are leaving by early afternoon as I need to get my Disney fix so I want to get back to a park - but as I can’t go to a park until tomorrow that made us enjoy everything a little more.

Up next BTMRR - finally!

Following and thanks for the great space center pics. I haven't been there since my kids were young and it brought back great memories.
