The Cosmetics/Beauty Thread

So, here's something new I heard about today -- gel makeup? (I found a description of all the different types of makeup in the attached article, if you're as confused as I was by the term.)

Of course, I still find it funny that I'm taking only 3 minutes a day now to put on any makeup, period (wearing a mask outside and all). ;) But, this is still a fun thread, regardless. :) Maybe it's the diversion we need.

That doesn't begin to crack the surface of options;)

I always love a good dupe . Dupe not exact rip off as in everything down to the packaging See Makeup Revolution ripping off Manny. I wish they'd stick with what they did well as in Naked dupes with "cheap" packaging so you knew it was a different product

The gel foundation is super interesting. I wonder what that feels like on the skin? This year I’ve been opting for Tarte’s tinted moisturizer and it actually have decent coverage for not being a “true” foundation. I hardly wear anything anymore but I do like that and Sephora brand mascara. :)

I was interested in that tinted moisturizer but they don't have a shade match for me:( Which Sephora mascara? I've never tried a Sephora brand product

:( I wish brands offered more shade options! They seem to get the middle but miss the darker tones and the fairest of tones. That’s why my next purchase will probably be Fenty, they seem much more inclusive.

the mascara I use is their Lashcraft. https://www.sephora.com/product/las...aZcrHjVot1CXdJOK3PYaAnJDEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

THNX I'm thinking about trying out Rare Beauty their shade range looks good and from the reviews is more natural than Fenty. My favorite mascara 1601381161658.png It's in @MinnieM123's price range

I really wanted to try their powder foundation but they're not cruelty free:(
I can totally understand that. In the work that I do a good long last foundation is a must. I find that the powder foundations compared to the liquid foundations even though many of the powder ones say they last 12 hours don't last like the liquid.

Which is why makeup is not one size fits all. I did a 17+ hour day in Disney in summer wearing powder foundation with only a couple of touch ups

Yes for those long days you want something that is going to last with minimal maintenance. For my job I am under lights a lot and moving around quite a bit and I wear a lot of make up. I need something that is not going to melt all over my face. As for now I don't have to worry about that because my regular job is temporarily closed due to Covid-19 and I am currently working as a Sales Girl at Victoria's Secret. I wear make up there, but it is no where near the same.

I mentioned starting this in the Chit Chat thread, and the reception seemed positive so I decided to go ahead with it :) tagging @figmentfan423 as well.

To start the conversation, this collection from Colourpop Cosmetics is coming out soon. What better way to start this thread than a Disney collection? Personally, I won't be buying it, because 1) i've never seen Hocus Pocus and 2) there's nothing from this that I'd be interested in except maybe the glitters.

I like the glitters from the palette. They are just awesome.

Also, the lipsticks are super hydrating and lasts long!

KVD Vegan Beauty Everlasting Liquid Lipstick is my go to lipstick. It is also sold at Sephora and has many shades for many different occasions. It is a long wear with a smooth matte finish with lightweight comfort. It is also cruelty free.
I'm glad KVD is making a comeback :inlove: :inlove: :inlove: Their eyeliner was my go to for a long time until........................ Things we won't get into in this happy thread

I agree. In my opinion all products need to be animal cruelty free. There is obviously a way to make a productive product without doing it so why not all companies do so?
