If you have a Camry, you'll keep that thing going for a while. Those are good cars. My uncle drove one for Uber and finally had to get rid of it at 300,000 miles

I had two GM cars. They both hit 100,000 miles and started dying. That is why I have a Honda now. It was an act of rebellion because my parents are GM people.
That is really good to know because it is really old (2002) , and it already has over 100,000 miles on it which isn't bad for being so old, but it really isn't driven that much.

Toyotas and Hondas from experience can last a long time with proper maint. And the best part- no monthly car payments! Use that $$ to invest in 401K weekly and with compounding interest it's a good start to your retirement ( maybe early ) future!

I am only 16 years old and a Junior in high school. I don't have a job yet other than some baby sitting jobs here and there. I was going to look for a Summer Part Time job this Summer, but with all this stuff going on me and my parents decided against it. I do have a college fund that was set up by my parents when I was a baby.

I wish you well in your future. If you decide to plan your future, don't be distracted with the ups and downs of the stock market. Stay the course , and you will see the benefits. Many that I know regret not starting early and have little or nothing to retire with and some say they need to work until they die. Don't be part of that crowd.

I don't want to be like that. That is for darn sure. Thanks for wishing me the best. :)

You can probably keep it going a while yet. You probably won't need a new one until you're finished with school unless something major goes wrong with it, but Toyota makes cars to last. You can probably keep it going until it hits 200,000. Just keep in mind that you might need to replace it and put some money towards a possible down payment when you're in college.

My great uncle has a Civic that's older than me. Got 400,000+ miles on it, and he keeps it going. I think it's a point of pride at this point.

Yeah dad say if I keep up oil changes and routine maintenance on it and tires it should be good to go through college. At moment I don't drive it much, but later I will I know especially if I go to a school that is UCF that is really close to home. That college I could commute to while even the other State colleges I would have to live in the dorms.

That's the right idea, thinking ahead, save $$ staying at home instead of in college housing. 👍

My other piece of advice is to not take out student loans if you can help it. You want to pick a school that's a good fit, at the same time, you want to not be paying for your education indefinitely. What I did was applied to schools that were out of my price range on the sticker value, and then a few that were commutable and within my price range, and then when the scholarships came through, we made the decision. There was only one school where I wasn't offered any scholarships; I could have gone to Towson University near Baltimore for free, but it was a horrible fit, so I ended up going to a private school where I had enough scholarship money to cover most of my tuition; my parents covered the rest.

UCF is a great school. You should strongly consider it. Especially since you're not quite sure what to do, they have a ton of programs so you can explore. I wanna say they're the second largest school in the country? And they do give scholarships, and your grades are good enough that they should offer you something.
