We have our first Corona Virus restaurant demise, and it is a shocker. Chuy's has shut their doors permanently, as of this evening.

On an even sadder note, the virus has claimed a childhood neighbor friend of my DH. I fear this is just the start.

It has been a rough day. I am so glad I have all of you to help me laugh and smile, when I need it most.

Stay safe. Stay in. Be well.
So, so sorry for your loss. This is a horrible situation all around.

I went to CVS today to pick up my medication. I walked there, since I do not drive. I was surprised with what I found. I had to go outside to the Drive through window, to get my medication, and pay for it. The inside was boarded up. Surely, they could have come up with a better idea, for us pedestrians to get our medication, rather than having us outside amongst the cars/traffic at the Drive Up. Am I going to find the same thing at my bank, when I go there on Friday, to cash a check?
Hubby read today that bank branches are consolidating. Please, call first to see if/when your branch will open. To protect their workers, lobbies are closed. Online banking is being encouraged. By the way, Walgreens is delivering mediactions with no delivery fee. I wonder if CVS is doing the same?

Take care of you, and stay in as much as possible, please.

not thinking Chuys has anything to do with the Virus. The chain has been in trouble for awhile. This isn’t the first to close. Happens when you all of a sudden expand the company to fast. I liked it but didn’t love it and priced to high for what it is.
In a matter of a few blocks there were Chevys Mexican restaurant and first to go, then South of the Border closed up. In came Uncle Julio’s, Chuys and just this year Fat Rosie’s. Chuys was my least favorite for food, service, loud and price. Chuys was fine however the other two are superior when you can pick from 3 within a 5 minute drive. Over saturation.

Uncle Julio’s is my favorite but Fat Rosie’s is the close second and it is fun and lively
I am not a fan of Uncle Julio's. Have yet to try Fat Rosie's. Chuy's was my fav.

I kind of have a recipe, I don't measure anything and learned from watching my mom. So here it is in the best way I can.

1 bag dried bread cubes
1 bag herbed bread cubes
celery and onion chopped very small
1-2 sticks butter
1 box or about 3 cans chicken broth
salt & pepper
dried sage

1. Melt butter and add celery & onions. sautee and simmer until veggies are soft, about 20-30 minutes.
2. Put bread cubes in big bowl and add: salt, pepper, and sage. How much sage? I probably add about 1 tablespoon to start but may add more based on tastings.
3. Mix spices with cubes and add some broth to start softening up the bread cubes.
4. When veggies are ready add to bread and let it cool before mixing and smooshing it with your hands.
5. Taste test and add more broth and spices as needed.
6. Put cover over bowl or put into containers for a few hours at least but best if it sits overnight. If you are going to put it in a turkey or bird to cook put aside in a container just what you think will fit in the bird so you don't contaminate it all when you go to stuff the bird. Stuffing also cooks up well in a crockpot or dish in the oven.
How big are the bags of bread cubes? We don't have that here, so I'll just be drying my own bread and cubing it. And we have jars of broth, but I'm not sure how many fluid ounces they are. I'll have to play it by ear. Thank you!

Darn I can't Eread Cinder from the library:(:(:( Excuse to buy the series:D:D:D
She has another series called Renegades, which I just reread. She finished it back in November I think? Anyway, it's not quite as good as Cinder, but I mean...come one. I think she also might continue it based on how she left the last one.

Anyway, also really good reading since you liked Cinder. I'm not reading Cinder right now, though. For one, I reread it in November, and for another, it's a tad too close to home...😂
