I'm sorry. I find this post to be a most unfortunate choice of words. :(

That is a big statement about our kids, many of us on this thread have young adult kids. We have many young adults students about to go off to college here on this thread. They have worked hard to become fine adults and we as their parents spent countless hours mentoring and educating them. My son had to rise to the occasion this week. He has about 275 employees that report to him directly. He is able to keep 4 due to the Virus. He was given a directive and he followed it. Doesn't mean because he feels awful that he is a Wuss. I am proud of what my DS and DD have accomplished. I am proud they took their education seriously and became productive members of society.

Me I am proud of the young adults on this thread, some have graduated college and are productive members of society, from business members to preschool teachers, contributing member of society. We have a few spawn of members that even sit on a board of pediatric cancer foundation. I am constantly in awe of our parents here on this thread too that give everything we have to make sure our children have opportunities to succeed no matter what life has thrown them. Me I am an AARP woman but still young enough to remember that Words Matter.

I know. You know something happened there. He needs a good mentor. The virus, wars and 9/11 all take their toll on people different ways. Me, I don't know what the person has been through in their young life so far so I find it easier not to judge without all the facts.

One of my DD cashiers at the water park where she still works her 2nd job got laid off do to the Virus, the elderly woman needs the money to eat, my DD does not. The lady is 81. My daughter went out and bought her 4 shopping bags of groceries and put them at her door when she knew she'd be gone. Just a note of BE WELL. PRAYING FOR YOU, no name. This was my DD idea, she immediately thought of the elderly woman even though they are all gone until the virus is defeated. My DD is a lovely young woman that has a great deal of compassion.

No state-owned liquor stores here. All privately owned. As I’ve posted before, my pop has worked, after retiring from IBM over 25 years ago, at one of my folks next door neighbors 3 liquor store locations for years, among the yard work and other stuff he still does to pad their retirement.
Liquor stores here in Texas are open from 10a-9p Mon.-Sat., and closed on Sundays. They also sell beer and wine.
Convenience and grocery stores can only sell beer and wine, from 7a-12a Mon.-Fri, from 7a-1a, Sat./Sun., and Sun. from 12p-12a.

Your post made me smile, we all hold out some measure of hope for these type of speculations but me, I did not believe or lend any credibility to that statement just over a month ago when so many hot climates virus victums were climbing. The last I read there are over 4 dozen countries of Warmth and Hotness in climate that are fighting the same virus as cold weather climates are.

And FYI that up in the air still statement 'cause it isn't April for a few weeks yet...came from A Presidential Campaign Rally on February 10th in New Hampshire where Rally attendees were told:

"the virus will be gone by April," claiming that when temperatures rise, “the virus” will “miraculously” go away. The President offered no scientific or medical explanation to support his theory.

Some are believers and some are not. I've followed the statement, I've yet to see any scientist make the same claim but be happy in 14 days to wake up and miraculously the virus has gone away. While awaiting the outcome I will be prudent and try to be as careful as possible.

Also heard this morning that more than 79,000 people have recovered from the virus worldwide.
DWifey’s job is closed for this week, but, she is being paid.
Our office is still open, but, there are no more face-to-face client meetings for now, and we’re trying to keep our distance. 2 people are working remotely.
We are told there is still plenty of work.
Schools are closed for spring break, but, they will be extending as needed.
Bars closed, and restaurants pickup and delivery only. No regular bank lobby access for a while, but, ATM and drive-thru access will continue.
Every major event I can think of has been cancelled ...SXSW, of course, Rodeo Austin, Dell Match Play golf tournament, etc.
The Rolling Stones are due here for a concert at CotA (Circuit of the America’s - the F1 track) on May 24th. Has not been cancelled, as of yet.

I appreciate your research. They have a population of 272,000,000, most of who sadly live in squalor. The percentage who have this virus in terms of population is .00006515%. In our country this year as a comparison to the regular flu .065% of the population got the flu. I by no means am try to belittle what you said. Do not take it that way. Do we need to be cautious, yes. If everyone always was careful with their hygiene as they are now, I guarantee that the flu would not be as rampant as it is every year. Hopefully people keep up with washing their hands, which I cannot believe people haven’t done, and next flu season we will have reduced cases. 🙂

Dollar General has announced that they will be devoting their opening hour of shopping time to elderly customers. Athletes and sports teams are pledging to pay the wages of arena employees during the shutdown. Utility companies, landlords, automakers, and internet providers are waiving a number of late fees and payments to ease the financial burden of the shutdown. School districts across the country are still opening their doors to serve meals to kids and families.

People will always have various reactions to what is going on. However, I think the sad thing for him is that if he had chosen to stay with the job, (even if it was emotionally difficult for him), he would have come out on top. It would have been a real confidence booster for him. We've all faced some hard situations, but if we can get through them, it's always a growth experience.
