I don’t think the medias agenda is to make people more at ease unfortunately.

I'm a news junkie, so I've been watching a lot of it. I think they're doing a good job reporting updates, and having on some very interesting panels of medical experts, as well as some governors of states, etc. I've actually never been one to want news downplayed, as I deal much better when I have all the facts. I'm kinda like Sgt. Joe Friday in the old Dragnet series, "Just the facts, m'aam!") :p

That aside, viewers will have their own interpretation of what is being broadcast, and perhaps some will think it's being overdone.

Just watch (or read) what's comfortable for you. When you've reached your saturation point, then go watch Disneyplus! :) (Note: I don't have Disneyplus because I'm always watching the news! :D )

I loved hearing Paul Harvey on the radio. It was sad when he passed away.

My 8th grade math/driver's ed teacher was really into Paul Harvey. He would show us inspirational Paul Harvey videos in math class at least once a week, it was just a short video about 10 minutes. He would also play Paul Harvey stuff on the radio while we were in behind the wheel in Driver's Ed. It was interesting but not exactly what a teen at that time wanted to listen to.

Didn't Readers Digest also include (at least occasionally) articles by Paul Harvey? ("And now you know the rest of the story!") My grandmother used to listen to him on the radio, and he always had fascinating stories.

I believe you’re correct, Minnie...!!! :)
I used to love his stories too, and always listened to them from him on the radio as well.
IIRC, I think his son, Paul Harvey Jr., tried to sustain something similar, but, it just didn’t seem to work.

I think she was referring to what sanitizing methods were they using. Touchscreens and tables not being wiped down during a time when people are being told by the government that you shouldn’t shake anyones hand. Using a touch screen after someone else could be pretty unsanitary.
Yes, exactly. So I'm wondering if that's just our local McDonalds or if it's a company-wide "protocol". If it's company-wide, they may want to actually do things that will help, like sanitizing tables, touch screens, counters, and those trash bin flap thingies....those are like petri dishes, I'm sure. But making people wait outside for their turn is going to do very little if the people already inside leave contagious germs behind on every surface people stuck outside will eventually touch.

I really don't know, but I hope so. It seems weird that they would send home workers and cancel entertainment if it was only for 2 weeks. My sister and her family are planning on going in April for the Star Wars run and she is freaking out a little but hasn't cancelled.
I don't think they'll open quite so soon, and I think that when they do, they won't have full cast, because you know people were canceling left and right and they aren't going to be at full capacity as soon as they open again. People are going to be cautious for a while. That's just my take, but I can't imagine they'll expect large crowds right away. After September 11th, when we were there for our honeymoon, it was completely dead, and that was several weeks after the attack. People were just cautious and not going on vacation. And this time, you'll have the added issue of people having not been working for a few weeks...there will be a lot of people who can't afford to go to Disney, or who can't afford to take more time off for a trip. I think it's going to take a while for the parks to recover from this to the point that they will need CPs again and the WDC itself will be cutting corners where they can, like getting rid of non-essential entertainers.

Yep, there was an emergency meeting of the government with health officials this afternoon here and they are closing all schools until April 6th and they are also closing restaurants to dine in....take outs and such are still open, but you have to pay online....no cash. Or the no cash thing might just be certain places....it might be up to the venue.

Choir has been canceled through March, as have driving lessons. My job is still open though. But my schedule just got a whole lot lighter!

I AM wondering what happens to certain things.....like, we were supposed to have parent teacher conferences for A on April 2nd, as well as a vaccination for meningitis for E the same day. If there's no school, I can't imagine the P/T conferences will happen, and as the vaccinations involve thousands of kids being marched through lines to get their shots, I think they'll reschedule that. The government already mandated no events with more than 100 people on Thursday, and now they've added more restrictions, so I doubt the vaccinations will be allowed.
