Okay, a more detailed explanation.

1. Picard - Easily one of the greatest Star Trek Characters of all time, his character was part of TNG, which lasted seven years, and then spawned four movies, and now he will reprise his role in the titular role. Picard was heroic in that he defeated the Borg and prevented the assimilation of the entire Alpha quadrant. He stood trial for the crimes of humanity with Q and avoided punishment. He was a strong, compassionate leader towards all, both humans and aliens. He was also remarkably human, having suffered with PTSD after being turned into Locutus of Borg and mourning the death of his nephew and brother in Generations.
2. Captain Janeway - the first lead female character in a Star Trek series, Janeway's first order was to sacrifice her and her crew's only way of getting home to help an alien race, a decision that haunts her throughout the series. Voyager encounters numerous species along the way, helping them often at the expense of their own well-being. She defeats numerous enemies with just her small ship and crew, including the Jaxon, Hirogen, and last but not least, the Borg. She rescues Seven of Nine and guides her towards humanity. She manages not to compromise her values during this time, but can be a bit reckless. Also, she does all of this with grace, and some sass and sarcasm.
3. Pike - We only see him briefly, but he proves himself to be quite the level headed leader. In Discovery, he earns the trust of a crew betrayed by their previous Captain. He learns of his date to become disabled and doesn't try to change it for his own benefit. Alternate reality Pike saves Kirk from a life of crime by recognizing his full potential. Became a father figure to Kirk and died tragically. A quality character, even if we don't see him that much
4. Solo - Easily the greatest Star Wars character. Saved the Galaxy at the battle of Yavin. Made the Kessel Run in twelve parsecs. Clearly loved Leia and his last act was dying while trying to save his son. Still, his loyalties were often self-serving.
5. Kirk - Kirk is legendary as the first Star Trek captain , and he does get credit for saving Spock and for saving Earth by bringing back extinct whales, but his womanizing tendencies get old very fast. He ranks so highly because of Chris Pine's portrayal. Bill Shatner cannot act.
6. Sisko - He's a single parent. He lost his wife at the battle of Wolf 359. He's very flawed. He also helps save the Alpha Quadrant from the Dominion. But he's been known to do so at the expense of his ethics.

And as for the Captain on Firefly...

More from yesterday. Funny story about the Victoria Crowned Pigeon. That is the bird who is in the last shots. We think he was flirting with us. He did such an elaborate dance in front of us. It cracked us up. Then we went to leave the tropical rain forest area and it started to follow us. The doors closed just in time. The next area had some more displays and there were workers painting in one. One of the men went to go back in the rainforest area and guess who ran out? Our blue love interest. We laughed so hard, but at the same time were thinking,”What the heck do we do?” Two of our group went to get one of the women who worked in the rainforest. I decided to act like a sheepdog and coral the bird. I led her back into the rainforest exhibit. Yay! It was so much fun. I so wanted to touch it, but knew I shouldn’t. It was really hard not to. He was so cute. :inlove:

so hu.. we got another quake.. nothing serious..
I guess 2020 is going to get wild.

I mean, Puerto Rico's nearby fault goes active, and then ours too? D:

Jeepers, I missed most of the news yesterday. It was a 5.8 magnitude quake in Mexico. Sorry to hear that, Cesar. I'm assuming your area was o.k. (in the big picture, that is). But, I imagine you must have still felt it, to some extent.
