Some real nasty weather here the last two days. Blessed our power remains on. We still have most leaves on trees. Heavy wet snow on branches and 45 mph winds with snow blowing sideways. Crazy. Branches snapping and downing power lines. Those pesky individual blocks everywhere are keeping our power people hopping.

Zero trick or treaters in my neighborhood! We have about 30 some odd bags of candy. Remember two of my dd’s filled the bags excitedly at the beginning of the month. We may just donate them.

We had about 30-35 kids. I've got 6 more bags of candy . . .

Maybe to an old peoples home .... old people like candy too!

Senior living communities and also skilled nursing senior facilities, might accept sealed bags of candy. (You'd have to call the senior places first, I would imagine, to see if they would accept them.) It is a nice gesture.

T’s school does treat bags for an inner city school and also to send to the troops. Each kid has to bring in 10 pieces of candy.. a lot of kids end up bringing more. We also have a lot of left over candy from what I didn’t hand out. I’ll probably send a lot of that to school to, bonus- prevents me from eating it. Lol
T went with a few friends and one of their parents tonight. I maybe got 15 kids total, me and Reilly were giving out candy, but I didn’t put him in costume this year.

Here’s T’s stash tonight, it’s bigger than what it looks in and he wasn’t even out that long. Wind chill was low 30s and rainy

I love that someone gave granola bars, gluten free, and organic options too.

Happy to hear that T enjoyed his trick or treat evening! That's quite a haul of candy!

Also, what a nice idea to put together treat bags for children and military. When I was a kid, we just focused on ourselves. It's good to start kids young, with a knowledge and compassion for others who may not have the same opportunities. I only recall one year that a nun gave us little donation boxes for Unicef, and we took those around when we also got our candy at houses.

( I prefer the method that T's school used, because people were sort of caught off guard when we came to the door with the Unicef donation boxes, asking for change. They were prepared to give candy, but it was awkward when they had to look around for change, on top of that. Oh, the Unicef thing only lasted once, by the way! )

Same here. Been awake (partly because the dog was freaked by the 40-50 mph wind gusts outside). He scratched at the bedroom door and woke me up. I got up, and he went back to sleep immediately.

Meanwhile, I've been awake since 1:30 AM . . .

And finally finally found a shirt I really wanted since our Dorian trip Dorian thankfully was a a fizzle in September but I did come home without the shirt I really wanted. Then it wasn’t still available earlier this month for conference. Sad again. Arrived last week. Nope but on Tuesday at the MK happiness

We are doing a field trip to DC tomorrow. Going to the National Gallery of Art and then walking along the National Mall.

oh and it was a little rainy/snowy... but it lightened up for the kids!

I went to my daughters, as usual. I'm running short of young grandchildren to go for. My youngest granddaughter went as a crayon. I wish I had taken a picture (as usual I didn't even think of it at the time) We were expecting extreme storms that were supposed to start at around 5ish with high winds, large thunder-boomers and also a possibility of tornado's. It was warm (upper 70's). We all thought T/T would be washed out. But, the rain and storms held off until 8 O'clock so all the youngun's were done by then. It even held off long enough for me to get the twenty miles back home. I had been in the apartment about 3 minutes before the rain fell in large, quick quantities from the sky.

Yeah we do! And many of us no longer have teeth so no worry about getting cavities. I still have all mine though, thankfully.

I can still hear the wind, branches litter the roads, some school are close due to lack of power One of the worst parts is I went to bed in cute shorts and cami pjs and now I'm in 3 layers of heavier clothing and the heat is cranked up ay least the power is on knock wood

By the way... How come no one told me about Trunk or Treat. I never got that memo and just sat there gap mouthed while others talked about the good time the kids had. Seems a little extreme to me. Don't they get enough just on Halloween? I'm thinking the next generations highest priority will be to stock up on insulin. As an "instead of going out on Halloween night", it seems logical, but, Halloween is a way overblown event as it is, but without going out in the scary night Trunk or Treat just seems like a place to load up on sugar. However, since I never even heard of them until last night, there might be a lot of detail that I am missing.

I got up at 2:30 from the wind. Took me about an hour to go back to sleep, but I woke up at 7 which is the latest I have gotten up in ages.

If we leave now the drive will be 2 hours to go 100 miles. Accidents.

That's fairly typical for getting down there. I know people who work down there and go to BWI and take the train for that reason.

DD went off to school in her Sully onesie. I thought she had meant for it to be donated, as she put it in the same spot as clothes to donate. Turns out, she put it there so I would hang it up in the downstairs closet. Moment of panic when it was no longer there. Luckily, DH hadn't dropped it off, yet.

And you were supposed to know this how?? She's soooo lucky it hadn't been dropped off!
