I just had an epiphany .... I made a reservation to the Melting pot for dinner tonight... and just now I thought... why doesn't France in epcot have a fondue restaurant experience???

eta: it originated in switzerland I think, but it's a big French cultured thing as well, I think they could get away with it.

eta: or put it anywhere on property. I would go.

Be safe everyone! I hope no one loses power or gets stuck in their houses for too long. It's supposed to freeze here, but I haven't seen anything about snow...it was FRIGID biking to work today, though, and it's supposed to get even colder, so we'll see.

We are headed to an open huis at one of the high schools tomorrow. Probably not the one DS will go to as it's a regular school and we're pretty sure he'll stay in special education, but we're going just in case. We went to a special ed school on Wednesday night. It was actually a lot more impressive than I was expecting, though I was disappointed that they do NOT have VWO level as indicated on the list we got, but they DO offer VWO level material for kids at HAVO level who need a bit more of a challenge....you just don't get the VWO diploma at the end. It appears that special education does not do VWO level. We'll deal. Next Wednesday is the open house for DS's current school, but the high school branch. TONS of questions now. Wish us luck....DS is stressing, not knowing what to expect. That's one of the reasons we're going to the regular one tomorrow...he's gone the last 2 years because of DD and he knows what to expect and he wants to go and have fun. Then we're staying home on Sunday because DD has a couple of tests to study for. So those are our big weekend plans. I hope everyone has a nice, safe weekend and no one gets too frustrated with family, being stuck in the house together for an extended period with no escape.

I'm looking at you, @figmentfan423 . Put down that frying pan...it's not worth the jail time. Wait until the storm passes and you can use that frying pan to make groundhog stew.

Headed for the graveyard or to be reassembled on that backlot tour in DHS. Oh, wait! Probably not! How about some air museum in the area or a lawn ornament for some of those places that you have designed for people with too much money. :)

Probably on it’s way to our SpongeBob/artist clients’ (Todd White) 15 acre Texas Hill Country property...that puppy would make one helluva’ man cave...!!!!!!!!!!! :joyfull:  :hilarious: ;)

I would go back to one if they offered a vegan fondue. Dh and I used to go to one when we were newly dating.

Oh, and during a conversation this morning with one of the partners that just got back in town (he was in the Napa Valley meeting with clients regarding a remodel of a former Robert Redford home) and was concerned about me because of the Tuesday heart fun, I found out this guy is my Cardiologists (Paul Tucker) son...!!! :)

So you are going to be designing the house for your cardiologist’s son? And it is in California and you are in Austin. It’s a Small World After All. ;) Cue the music!!!

Hahaaa...!!!
No, the Cardiologist and his son are Texans, and the Cali. trip was a whole separate thing. I just told him my Cardiologists name and he related the info about his son to me...I had no clue!
Justin Tucker happens to be a local Westlake HS graduate, along with, as I mentioned last weekend, both Drew Brees and Nick Foles also being Westlake HS graduates...!!! :)

That would be a great idea! When I was a kid there was a French soup place and a fondue place across the street from each other in the mid 50s NYC. Good food cheap, good times @MySmallWorldof4 do you remember Le fondue or Le Bonne Soup?

Good luck and tomorrow after I finish up cooking I have stacks of movies and books not to mention head phones;)
